Hi, I am Tracy Mellow, the creator of this book. Wanted to answer a question you had. The red and Blue markers are called Paraphs. Fiore had them to indicate a new paragraph or thought process.

for those who might be interested : actually the original text was not in latin or "italian" which is a language decided by intellectuals in the late '800. It's rather one of the many late latin dialect which was the one spoken in northern east, Venice Republic. Today's Veneto - the region - dialects still sound very similar.

We use this for our HEMA classes as it's the most likely closest one to the original. The Latin 11269 is much prettier though.

Hey I see you picked up on my suggestion months ago :) Historical fighting is awesome but I get depressed by the fact that it's practically impossible to practice it in anyway in my country.

Yes! Hi @Darkspoon Crow 😄 I was watching The Witcher (of course), and I couldn't help thinking about what you said. I picked this up and the Academy of the Sword (which I imagine you probably know), as it turns out that was translated by John Michael Greer! The occultist superstar 😄 I haven't had a chance to read it yet (it's a massive volume) but I'll be sure to feature it here when I have. These books seem to be what one would need to start a club of one's own (wink wink...)

@@FoolishFishBooks Well I'm pretty new to HEMA as well and I'm a bigger fan of medieval and early renaissance stuff, so I wasn't aware of this Academy of the Sword but i looked it up and it seems very interesting. Thank you for this suggestion, it's right on my league. About the wink wink, lol to tell you truth every year I consider it more and more, the real issue is getting the right equipment, as shipping is too costly. Creating most of it or even everything myself seems more feasible. There's also the problem of finding like-minded people. Who knows, if it becomes a real thing I'll definitely share on KZfaq.
