NL complains about an absence of bald characters in games then plays a game where half the characters look like they're modeled after him

In case anyone is wondering about the attack that fizzled in the second game, the engine did not like it.

The pogs continue. The great thing about chess is that even when he loses, the discussion right before the losing move is usually hysterical.

I think the opponent resigned in the first game because they thought Rh1+ skewered the other rook and overlooked the knight block Also pog new chess arc in full swing

I swear people who play short time controls are built different. NL's opponent finds Qh4 (11:40) in like two seconds, while I was still two moves behind trying to step through what happens if black takes the exchange. And this is only at 1393 online rating!

12:04 Rook G7 is a devastating move here, right...? Because it's either mate in 1, they sac their queen to stay in the game or I've missed something major. Edit: Oh. That. I missed that.

Fellow youtube commenters, could anyone please explain the move at 19:28 to me? The more I look at it the more it looks like he just threw away his rook for a pawn and the opponent didn't take it for some reason. Am I missing something?
@emileheskey2754
@emileheskey2754 Жыл бұрын
So if queen takes, you have Rd1 pinning the queen to the king, with presumably queen takes rook as the best move, after which you take back with the knight. So essentially 2 rooks for a queen and a pawn
@ericstraley5255
@ericstraley5255 Жыл бұрын
I checked it with an engine and it's not a bad move (his position is so good that there's not really a bad move to make), but his advantage goes from +14 to +12. The most obvious follow up I could see was to pin the Queen with the other rook (which is protected by the knight), but even that just gives up 2 rooks for the queen. After Queen takes rook the engine's preferred move is actually Qe6+. So yeah it opened up more lines to black's king, but wasn't a super productive move

Playin some prison stones huh, lol? Well coming from the gate or smart kids class, I used to set up some more defensive formations though maybe not as fast like northern, but at the alcoholic/addict rehab camp with baby raccoons scrathcing the feeders and having to get rabies shots, that was pretty nice before it burned anyway. I only beat this black guy once, but I learned like life, the real purpose of chess is to ride in with the knight and bishop and cause havoc in the enemy ranks. Don't worry I'll be making my video/strategy game at probably at least hundred dollars an hour by scribbling some notes on some paper, maybe with some greatest by sia in the background, before I get too old, rather than playing and trying to beat x-com 2 on the hardest difficulty all the time though?
