I was a child of the 80’s, Steven Spielberg and Stephen King kept me very entertained!

"WHERE'S THE OCAST GUARD?!" had me on the floor in tears 🤣

This was a childhood film favorite. I always wanted to be a member of the Goonies and experience an adventure where I could find pirate treasure. The characters are so interesting and different from each other. My favorite was always Data, he was the inventor I always wished I could be.

The crew is behind the camera giggling that they have them saying “One Eyed Willie” the whole movie. 🤣😂

Love the reactions man. This movie holds a special place in my heart. I would watch it over and over as a kid.

Fun fact : the boy that played Chunk is now an attorney and he looks great! Liked your reaction to this modern classic.

The reactions the kids had to the pirate ship were their VERY FIRST sight of the ship so it was genuine.

A few of the young actors in this movie became very famous in the future. Josh Brolin was the main antagonist in the Marvel Avengers series and has done great work in more mature and dramatic films as well. The main character played by Sean Astin was one of the main characters in the Lord Of The Rings series. YOUVE SEEN LOTR RIGHT?!

There was actually a deleted scene that was shown on the TV versions in which Data defeats an Octopus by putting a Walkman in his mouth, causing it to start grooving to the music.

14:29 - There was a scene, in the water around the pirate ship, that included a giant Octopus attacking the kids, but the prop looked too fake and the action was not good so they cut it out in editing (Never understood why they left the reference to it in the interview at the end as it just makes the Goonies look like liars -But there it is!) 15:10 - Well, if you ever get around to watching Marvel movies and The Lord of the Ring trilogy, you might recognize a couple of the Goonies then. If you liked this style of child-adventure story, I'd recommend the movie The Monster Squad (1987): It's basically the Goonies but with classic Universal Cinematic Monsters.

So when my youngest was in fifth grade, he got caught cheating on a math test, and when his teacher asked him if he’d like to admit to anything, he went on a Chunk-like confession spree that his teacher stills talks about to this day. That man was laughing so hard, my kid didn’t get in that much trouble haha

This is the perfect adventure movie, as far as I’m concerned. Great characters, great writing, great comedy, just a little scary, a little romance, a great score. . . Great visual effects. PIRATES. It’s the best! Thanks so much for your reactions. I’ve been binging.

We just got back from a trip to the Oregon coast this weekend and went to the beaches, the jail, and the houses, that were used in filming. That big rock in the water is know as “haystack” rock. Great time and nice review! Love your reactions:)

I dont know how I missed this movie as a child, but damn. Its so much fun. Its the perfect adventure movie. I wish I could have seen it back then.

Oh man this was my childhood movie loved everything about it. The opening song is The Goonies 'r' Good Enough by Cyndi Lauper another fun detail is Brand the oldest brother is played by Josh Brolin who also plays a the largest and most important character in the MCU I cannot name but you'll meet him. He also plays Cable in Deadpool 2 a movie which is not in the MCU from my understanding but the third Deadpool movie will be apart of the MCU no idea how that's going to work lol Josh Brolin also played characters in Sicario, No Country for Old Men, Dune 2021, Men in Black 3, Oldboy, Men in Black, to name a few. He also appeared in many Marvel movies as his character but i'll not name them.

I love how most of the kids have a talent or use in the movie. Mikey cares the most about finding the treasure and is pretty smart making him a good leader despite his older brother with him. Brand is physically strong. Data has a bunch of useful gadgets he invented. Mouth is fluent in Spanish. Andy knows piano and remembered to get the map before they left the room. Chunk tries to get the police and befriends Sloth who becomes super helpful. Steph, so Andy isn’t the only girl I guess?

The lady who played Rosalita, was the one who taught corey all the Spanish

You Sir are a reaction audience’s dream. Someone who genuinely has never watched movies before. I was so excited when I first heard your farmer reasons for never seeing well known movies. They don’t make great movies anymore these days. They’re all either lesser remakes or super hero movies. Being able to watch someone else get to see a lot of these awesome movies is the closest thing you get to the wonder of seeing them yourself for the first time. Gave you a new sub, good luck with your channel. I’ll be checking out all your other videos and can’t wait to see what you do next. I don’t know how you pick which ones to do but I’d love to see you be amazed at maybe Interstellar or The Martian. I think they’d be right up your alley. Great video, fun reaction. I grew up with The Goonies and it will never get old.

This movie has so many nostalgic memories for me

I was 11, almost 12, when this movie came out, and I live an hr away from where it was filmed. Later, when I was in high school, my friends and I would drive to the coast, to go to the beach sometimes, when we got bored. If we went the Oregon side of the river, the Goonie houses were on the way. I've stood outside those houses (Mike & Brand's, and Data's) a half a dozen times. It's always cool. Special place in my heart. A lot of Pacific Northwest pride, that this classic was filmed here, in the 1980's. (Now days, it would likely be filmed in Vancouver BC). There were a couple signs at the base of the driveway, painted in Goonie font, style & colors to help with laws, rules & respect. Real people lived in those houses. You'd be surprised (or maybe not) how disrespectful some people would be. Anyway, that was a great reaction, and I'm so happy you had such a good time with this childhood treasure. For me, even though I can quote it, it's still a favorite to watch, on a rainy, fall afternoon. Goonies Never Say Die! Some other fantastic action/adventure movies, from the 80's, I'd like to suggest for you are: -Romancing the Stone (1984) -Adventures in Babysitting (1987) -Beverly Hills Cop (1984) -The Princess Bride (1987) -E.T. The great thing about the actor for chunk is that he grew up to be really good looking! Like muscle body essentially! Which is amazing! And also a deleted scene was after the water slide there’s an octopus in the water! So that’s where data talking about the octopus comes out of nowhere!

Im only 26 but my uncle showed me this movie when i was 6-7 and it became one of my favorite childhood films. The Neverending Story as well is an amazing 80s childrens film you should check out!

I love The Goonies! Saw it in the theater when I was a kid. It's in my top 20 favorite movies of all time. Steven Spielberg produced this movie but he did not direct it. Richard Donner directed it. Donner was a wonderful director, he made so many movies I love. Sadly he just passed away this year but he made it to the age of 91. Donner directed all the Lethal Weapon movies. He also directed the Bill Murray movie Scrooged which it you haven't seen it, would be great to watch in December. But the movie he directed that I love the mkst, #3 on my all time favorite movies list, is the 1978 Superman. When Sloth ripped his shirt open and he was wearing a Superman shirt underneath and you heard a few bars of the John Williams Superman theme...that was like an inside joke. Best Regards!

The name of the Area is the Goondocks so they called themselves the Goonies.

Sean astin played Mikey the lead character in this movie I would highly recommend Rudy I love that movie

For a kids movie this scared the mess out of me when I was a teenager, but I loved it, lol.

Shawn Aston, the younger brother, was Sam in the The Lord of the Rings and the older brother ended up playing Thanos in the Marvel Avenger series.

One of my cats is named Willy because of this movie. I saw it one day on TV in 6th grade (I’m 29 now) and have loved it since! Definitely one of my favorites.

Just watching this reaction of yours I’ve just noticed that Sean Astin who plays Mikey it’s also in another movie series that I love lord of the rings and he plays Sam Wise Gamgee. I didn’t realize this until watching your reaction video it’s been along time since I’ve seen the goonies. Watching your reaction to movies I’ve seen decades ago it’s good I get to see a lot of actors in all stuff that I forgot they were in.

Hi there . I enjoyed your Reaction . Even though the Video could've been a bit longer (maybe 20 or 25 Minutes) . Sean Astin (who played Mikey) became famous as Samwise Gamdee from the Lord of the Rings Trilogy and he's brilliant in Stranger Things .Normally I would give You the advice to watch and react to Stranger Things but some of the Episodes are quite scary. thats why the Stranger Things series is a ....mixed Bag ; Great Story, great Actors but also scary sometimes ....

The Octopus was in the final room with the ship or right before they got done sliding down the water slide part but for some reason it was a cut scene in rereleases not sure if it was the old VHS that had the octopus scene or if it was only theater release version

Oh my god, somebody got you to watch the Goonies. This movie has a cult following. It bombed at the box office. This movie is not for everyone. I'm commenting here before I see your video. Don't know if anyone else said this but this movie was produced by Stephen Spielberg, but it was Directed by Richard Donner. He is responsible for the Superman movies. (If you haven't seen those yet, the first two are great movies as well and some don't like the third but I love all of them) edit: okay I kinda figured you'd enjoy this one. It's unique. And iconic.

I think you would like everything everywhere all at once, data is one of the main actors in it
