When I worked in the fields of the Pajaro Valley, in the 60s, we would get orders from the government and load a few trucks with produce. The crates were marked for Vietnam. My cousin Bobbie and I would pack magazines, cigarettes, and beer in between the vegetables we were picking mainly celery. We imagined our boys opening the crates and getting a smile on their faces never really knowing if the crates made it to Vietnam. When I was there, I remember seeing crates of produce similar to the ones we packed. Particularly the ones with the Pajaro Valley label. This trailer brings back so many memories and a tear thinking about all the brothers and sisters we left behind. Thank you Peter for continuing to share our stories. 🙏💪🌍🌏🌎❤️🇺🇸🖖

Right on / ¡Órale! . . . During this war, my great uncle Lindy had a Mexican restaurant in Thailand that primarily served soldiers on R & R (while my uncle was in Quang Tre, Vietnam, fighting... !!). Lindy had stories about what was shipped for the soldiers along with the masa and other ingredients (tequila! . . .). However, I like your story better. 👍 Shout out, Watsonville/Santa Cruz. @@lowkenshin1069 That could be a bit of a stretch, I think by this age Leo and Brad had multiple Oscar level films and nominations. No shade, I like the new stuff he has been trying, but I think Zac Efron still has not found that role yet - maybe this is it!

I cried when I read this story a few years ago. How every service member he came across helped him make his way around Vietnam to bring beers to his friends is another fantastic part of the story. I hope the movie does these guys justice.

As a Mariner, this is absolutely true, he really did it. He snuck in a ship and brought beer to his friends, there is an actual photo of him with his buddies over there all huddled up drinking. They still talk about him today!
