I did my best, but I'm also aware that I'm not always able to articulate things perfectly on the spot when I'm out there filming. Every visitor to Cambodia wanting to gain some understanding of the country should really visit these two museums, what happened here was too great an atrocity to simply ignore.

This footage says great things about your parents because they certainly knew how a son should be educated. No filming from bones... Quiet voice through the entire visit... No background music of any kind... It's hard to find this degree of sensitivity, respectfulness, politeness and any other words that could be used in someone from your generation... At least where I happen to live... Maybe things are different in the UK...

Nightmarish times. It's hard to believe that what was happening there was completely unknown about to the rest of the world. Information should have leaked somehow. . What's really sad is this wasn't 100's of years ago. I was 13 in 1975. Your video was very respectful and nicely put together.

I will like to visit Cambodia next year

As a teacher, its so sad learning about the Khmer Rouge when i was studying history of Cambodia back then...i wanna visit those places soon...

I've been in the Killing Field and in the School as well. The saddest place on earth.

A very sad reminder of a horrible past. Strangely enough, no one talks about it here. People have moved on and want to live a normal life. Thanks again for a very interesting video.

I have visited both these places and felt the atmosphere especially at the killing fields, many visitors were crying at the tree shown as it was for babies and children. I agree that all travellers should respectfully visit. I amazing how friendly and welcoming the Cambodian people are after their quite recent history, if you speak to some of the older generations they still fear the Khmer Rouge returning. Really good vlog.

Thank you so much for this video. My husband and I felt compelled to join a mission trip that will be traveling to Cambodia in Feb.2020. I confess I knew nothing about the place or its history. This is so sobering, so hard to watch. To think that I will be there soon is almost surreal. (Neither of us have ever traveled out of the States even though we are 57!)

Jason, you really produced a short an Excellent video of the genocide, perpetrated by the Pol Pot regime. You did it with careful graphics and somber tone, with the right words of explanation. Your video ended with the words Peace and that sums up pretty well what Cambodia and the world needs right now.

I visited the same places while traveling through Cambodia, messed me up for a couple days. If I remember correctly, over 20,000 people went into S21 and only 7 of them survived the genocide.

My parents are from Cambodia and were lucky to escape and flee to Australia. Havent been there myself but one day i will visit the motherland

I've watched so many videos about Khmer Rouge. Almost all of them turn the attention to this prison. You have described correctly about what the Khmer Rouge wanted to do. Yet you still refer to this prison as an eye opener. Unfortunately, the truth on this prison tells very little about general population. Here's why I'm saying this. More than 1/2 of victims of this prison are Khmer Rouge members themselves. perhaps half of the rest are Khmer Rouge sympathisers such as many of those who returned from France, USA and many other countries. Only a small portion of those victims were innocent people who knew nothing. If you go to the country side, you will find the real victims of Khmer Rouge genocide.
