I'm a high-functioning autistic, 67 years-old, white, and male. One of the biggest issues we run into is the new push activism, where some demographic groups "lean into" their identity, in order to "expose and challenge" whatever they oppose. Much of that activism is non-verbal bullying. Since we are autistic, we don't detect the non-verbal challenge and fail the activist's test. And, the autism industry throws us under the bus.
