I didn’t know anything about the Eucharist as a Protestant. Once I did, I knew I had to get into an Apostolic Church. I’m currently in RCIA and can’t believe how people will disavow this gift just to spite the Catholic and Orthodox.

Protestants know the early church fathers. They've heard of St Nicholas. They've heard of St. Athonasios and use him for the canon, and they trot out St. Augustine whenever it suits them and quickly put him back in his cage when when they are done with him.

Notice past, present, and future in this verse along with a divine act transformed by divine words into a divine living present eternity that gets consumed in the body, and infused, or communed, into the spirit, so that unity is achieved between the church and the Lord. At the same time, a divine proclamation of the death and resurrection of Christ goes forth into all of God's creation. ‭1 Corinthians 11:26 NRSV-CI‬ [26] For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.

Have you ever done or considered doing a video on Protestant claims about the Eucharist in the early Church, including that the tithe and praise was the sacrifice (not that of the bread and wine) or their responses to passages like Ignatius, or passages that speak of the Eucharist as a symbol or figure (like Clement of Alexandria for example)?

The idiom “to eat one’s flesh” meant to revile someone and destroy his character Psalm 27:2. I don’t believe Jesus meant his words to be taken in this sense nor did his hearers understand him as such.

The early Church, taught directly by the apostles, had the Eucharist as the real flesh and blood of Christ, so its settled. See Ignatius of Antioch martyr from the first century, who was taught by the apostles: “those who hold heretical opinions about the grace of Jesus Christ … refuse to acknowledge that the Eucharist is the flesh of our savior Jesus Christ, which suffered for our sins and which the Father by his goodness raised up” The verse you appealed to has nothing to do with the topic.

@@zenuno6936 I agree with you 💯. My point was Jesus was indeed speaking literally. If he was speaking figuratively the way a 1st c. Jew would have understood him he would have been saying “Unless you revile and slander me you cannot have eternal life.”

⁠@@rexfordtugwelljr So the first response didn’t convince you? So in your opinion all the apostles remembered wrong when they wrote down his words? What? He’s God, He knew exactly what He was saying and they understood him literally, look up the other Last Supper references in the NT. Then go read what the fathers of the 2nd century wrote about the Eucharist.

They’re both Catholics with PhD’s, so I’d say yes to your question.
