Abi singing Bring Me To Life was STELLAR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had no intention of voting for Jack Blocker. Just figured his followers would take care of him, as I had my favorites. But after his performance, his best of the season, in my opinion, I just had too. I have heard that Willy Nelson song for decades. Jack's performance made me feel it truly for the first time. STELLAR! He really stepped up as did all of the contestants. It really was the BEST episode of the season across the board.

Emmy got behind the piano for the first time since her audition and I think that really helped her a lot

I don't really care who wins. There is something about Jack that I love. Abi was amazing. They were all good and any of them deserve to win.

I’m not sure in what order, but I feel that Jack, Abi and Julia will be in the final 3. I adore all 3, happy with any of them winning.

Jack Blocker has goodness pouring out of him. There’s something special about him and he is endearing to me. I hope he wins the whole thing because he deserves to win.

I've been saying Emmys best performance has been her audition where she sang her own song. Finally hit that and better for me.

Julia is amazing. I understand the connection part and I don't always get that with her but her love of music and her ability over shine that and I think as she ages the connection will come.

Abi was riveting with the Evanescence song! Amazing in voice & dramatic performance with the smoke, the lighting etc. Amazing! Best of the night, imo 🎉 (The judges stole her thunder tho w/their silly shenanigans afterwards 🙄) Agree that Kaibrienne had her 2 best performances of the season this week. She has a very current sound & I can see her making music like Olivia Rodrigo. She was one of my favs and I am sad to see her go. 😢 I liked the kind of jazzy vibe of Julia’s Somewhere Over the Rainbow. Can’t believe Luke forgot the name of last year’s Idol winner Iam Tongi tho! 🤦🏻‍♀️ I was emotional too during Emmy’s Coal Miner’s Daughter tribute. Did anyone else want her to say at the end ‘Proud to be a Coal Miner’s Great Granddaughter?’ 🤗

Clark, you never bring it up so I wonder if you've even seen the season Maddie Poppe won. It's funny to me that Maddie Poppe still remains the only person who's managed to subvert the country & male bias by simply being *absolutely consistently great* in her own indie/folk singer-songwriter lane. It literally didn't matter that she was quietly beating out people in more commercial genres because she just brought it every single week. She's still the only indie female singer-songwriter who ever won because she just brought it every week! She did not have the range of the other contestants, but she had a fully-realized style & stuck to it. Always struck the emotional chord. She's doing the music she does great, she was never going to be as commercial as the others, and that's the beauty of it! She won... a singing competition. Leah Marlene came close but stumbled near the end. Abi, Emmy, McKenna have been awesome but uneven and I agree that Julia was awesome this week. For people not strictly in the country genre, especially female contestants, you have to not only be consistently great but also keeping one-upping yourself, and I feel like only Maddie's did that so far since the new Idol started (or even before). She was a completely unexpected winner. She didn't really have a heart-warming story, she didn't cry for attention, she just played it so straight and then pulled out some aces in the final weeks. The bar is higher for such contestants, obviously. In terms of consistency this season, I think it's probably between Jack, Abi & McKenna. I think Emmy's great too. They generally hit the right emotional chords even when they mess up. It's a hard season to have a favorite, I usually have one, but I think I agree with you: McKenna's my number 1 too.

Abi, Emmy and Jack were far and away the best this round - each of those 3 made a big statement for themselves

If I'm ever an Idol contestant, I respectfully ask that you please never say I'm your favourite or front runner 😂.

Man, Clark, as much as I disagree with you occasionally, you were *right on* about Julia. Straight up buttery-smooth low range, fantastic Eva/Iz vibes (hats off to the arranging crew!). My favorite of the entire season, right up there with her audition and Jack's "Rainbow" and his original in the audition.

Abi was my favorite this week too! I thought she finally got back to how good she was in her audition! It was pretty flawless! I had chills! I thought her and Jack were the best!

I was crying when Emmy was singing. Hit me right in the feels.

That performance by Emmy got her over the edge in the vote for sure. She sounded so amazing; hopefully, that performance will turn her confidence around for the better.

My favs of the night and season were Emmy and Jack’s solo performances. They both made me cry. My bottom two were actually in the bottom two and I was quite surprised American felt the same way

Emmy was the CLEAR standout tonight and she unequivocally left it all on the stage. I'm glad she was around for this performance to be given. No one came close.

I absolutely loved ever.single.note that Jack sang. He went so much further than any other contestants. He did nothing but PERFECTION when he delivered that song.

Overall this episode had me thinking that perhaps the judges should pick the songs more often if these are the kind of performances we get.

Watch your takes on AI from time to time but first time commenting. But I couldn’t help it. You were saying so many things I thought while watching: the performances were finally interesting again, Julia’s low notes were fire, Jack was back and fantastic, I am also starting to lose confidence in Tristan too, McKenna has stepped up but is it enough, Abi on the verses and bridge was so beautiful!!!! Emmy and Will finally are having some good performances but I will still will be disappointed if they are in the Finals. So many great voices have gone so I am glad the ones remaining are stepping up again. Otherwise, I was afraid I wouldn’t enjoy the rest of this season.

These singers should be singing original songs from here on out. They need to be promoting songs for their upcoming album. They don't have three months to put out an album because they will be forgotten by then. Star Search winner Beth Hart's fist album had four songs she sang on that show including three originals. Her original song Am I The One is still sung by TV singing contestants from around the world and it debuted on TV 31 years ago while she was a contestant on Star Search. That is why it's so important to be performing originals.

I wish you would share your opinion about, “The Voice”, contestant Asher HaVon. I get that it’s all about American Idol. Julia isn’t my favorite, I don’t know why I just don’t care for her. Reasonable cost for lessons, that’s great. Triston was a little off last night I was surprised he made it through, I agree with your analysis. Emmy rocked it, her best. Abi rocked it, she was my second choice next to Emmy.

American Idol has lost its “soul” or maybe the audience in general. I don’t vote as I watch recordings so I suppose I don’t have much room to talk. Music in general is subjective to the listener. Background, upbringing..even how you see yourself as an artist, all plays in how people listen or “feel” music/singing. IMO, most people listen to music instead of feeling it.

McKenna still sounds sick. The voice crack was particularly noticeable. I think KP saved her to give her another week to recover. She needs a killer next week. I wish Julia and Tristan would go, but think they have a pretty large fan base. I think you are grossly under appreciating Big Mo. love his vibe and Chris Stapleton sound without sounding too much like a copycat. With Jellyroll, Teddy Swims and Stapleton all big stars right now, think he has a chance to make top 3.

Contestants were great last night but I was sad to see KB go - she seems more marketable then McKenna but what do I know. My husband thinks Ryan's suits have been bad this season too

It never ceases to amaze me when someone doesn't fit the ridiculous american standards of beauty. The most biased people reveal themselves. Julia has been singing with conviction,with strength, and with heart. People claiming they can't connect with her just show and unwilling to understand someone different than themselves

Once again in true idol fashion, the best female singers were in the bottom 3. Abi, McKenna & KB. Think the Show needs to change its name to American Country Idol. Even Julia knew it because how many contestants would have worn a cowboy hat to sing Somewhere over the Rainbow. I was really hoping a girl would win this year.

Why is everyone so surprised the best singers leave early. It’s been that way for a loonnggg. Time. Look at the past 10 years winners Candice Glover, Caleb Johnson, Nick Fradiani, Trent Harmon, Maddie Poppe, Laine Hardy, Just Sam, Chayce Beckham, Noah Thompson, and Iam Tongi. All losers!!!! Monday night was awsome. 1-8. . . Isn't it funny, the pretty girls singing the , the traitor, break-up bad ex boyfriend songs, AND they're gone. ELLIE MARRIE, & now KB did it Sunday Night. . 7:27 I didn't like Julia's version at all - because it didn't flow. Starts and stops. Compare it to Eva Cassidy, that was all flow - and one of the best versions ever (Katherine McPhee's Idol performance was patterned after it)
