I agree with you,not only would it crazy it would truly be scary.and spurs can do it we have 2 #1 this year that would be great starting point and throw in Kelton and Zach in fill in cap space and maybe Blake Wesley. And still enough assets to go after a point guard.

I think Jazz will resign him. Kurt you are right Lauri has no big ego and the money is not everything to him. I also think that Lauri will still develop. Lauri is a guy who has put high standards on him self. In the media Day he told that If he plays better the team building prosess will fasten. Lauri told that he will train for one and a half month in Utah and then go to Finland and prepare for the Olympics play in games.

I think what you see now is what you get with Lauri. But it is crazy that some people undervalue him. The 76ers would kill for him (check out 40 million dollar man Tobias Harris stats per game this year). I may be reading into things but it sounds like Danny is will to cash in those picks in an attempt to get a star. If he strikes out again, all bets are off, will likely blow up the team.

Lauri is in that weird position that a lot of players on smaller market teams find themselves in, where they are being used as a number one option when they really shouldn’t be. Lauri is a dream number 2 (especially for the Warriors, but I’m biased). Could Lauri develop his dribbling and become a qualified #1? Yes. Will he? Probably not, I don’t think he’s that type of guy. No knock on him though, he’s still an incredible player.

I disagree you with one dimensional game. When look what players jazz had this season. Its so easy opponent take one guy away when jazz dont have anyone else who can do much of anything. If Lauri be in team where is other guy who opponent must double, then its not as easy to guard Lauri. Everything always depends who you play with. Example this season just before trades jazz played well. After trades, they was garbage team. And that happens when they trade away Ochai, Simone and Kelly O. 3 players can make that big difference. And if to be honest, only Kelly was very good player. Other two was ok but not not that good. If we look jazz team now. They have only Lauri and Will Hardy who i consider to be good enough in they role. Everyone else is not good enough make the difference. So Something big must be happening or jazz keep losing and tanking every year for rest of this decade. I think Lauri will be traded. Ainge said during this season that he dont want to pay Lauri. Its clear sign that they will trade him. And they should. Jazz picks are not good enough to pick future superstar and trading Lauri now will make jazz worst team in the west. Then they have chance get very good pick. Also Lauri want to win, he has said that many times. Lauri know that jazz dont win anything anytime soon. Hope he goes to spurs. What a great team that would be. Wemby is so good that opponent always must double or triple him, then Lauri would be open all the time. That is what i hope to happening. What ever happens, Lauri gonna get wasted in utah if he must to stay there.

Ainge has not said that he don't want to pay Lauri? I agree that Lauri is not one dimensional player. How can he be when he scores and plays in several ways.

@@petterituohino6392 Not exactly those words. Ainge said that next contract for Lauri maybe very expencive and he (Ainge) dont like those type of contracts. So its basicly same thing in my ears.

Lauri has said all the right things knowing that the jazz are in the best position to pay him. He also knows that the jazz can flip him too so Laurie scored cash 💰 He has very good and efficient numbers. Very nice 👍 7 footer and he is young but heading into his prime. The jazz have a solid player and asset. No doubt laurie gets paid by the jazz. The issue will be if other teams make big offers for him. The talk should be how do other teams get laurie and what is the real cost 💲 For now, there is few teams but maybe spurs or thunder make crazy offers. Lakers and Knicks want but too cheap. The heat too cheap! All want but don’t have the guts. No guts no glory!

Markkanen for Giddey + 2 1st from OKC... Giddey can finally be the primary ballhandler (his best position) and a Starting 5 of SGA/Williams/Dort/Markkanen/Holmgren would be sick for OKC, specially if you look at the depth of the bench they still have!

Yeah, Lauri's definitely a talent who can contribute to a contending team. Talent, combined with liking SLC, means they should keep him. There's other ways to improve besides getting rid of your best players. Ainge listed off the teams we have to be better than, the other day, and we're clearly more than a couple draft choices away. We need to hit in the draft this year, and this years' rookies have to improve, AND...next year it should be clear who we can sign or trade for to take the next couple of steps.

As far as I know, it was never a thing. But I still think the Lauri -> OKC seemed like the best thing for all available parties. OKC can get a bigger body to rebound, who can also shoot. And then they will also have his rights before they have to resign all their young guys to extensions. Utah can get a shit ton of picks off of OKC as well as young guys with potential like, idk, Cason Wallace or whatever.

Markkanen would be an awesome addition for OKC. In the last draft, I wanted the Jazz to take Cason Wallace. This might be their chance to get him and add a boatload of picks in the process.

Jazz no longer have the old school family mentality, they never made a whole lot of moves, mainly small trades and key draft picks… Danny, has broke the wheel, I would be very skeptical coming to the organization now if I was a player, he literally moves players out like a 2K game… it’s really frustrating watching former Jazz players in playoffs, Gobert, Conley, Mitchell and even Grayson Allen is a starter on a playoff team… Ainge is taking one too many huge risks and I think it’s alienating Jazz fans… I honestly don’t feel not one player on our roster is safe and that’s just crazy to me 🤷‍♂️

Jazz still has so much draft capital, that could had been used to improve that "6th seed team". What you said about Ainge's possible mindset about "1'st seed or blow it up" might be true. But personally i think that approach being unrealistic to achieve anything. What comes to Lauri, he probably isn't in place where at this point can unlock new aspects or skills to his game. He is already quite capable of putting the ball to the floor and to attack the rim. That's something he could maybe do more often to make his game more versatile.

He just needs more love game reps putting the ball on the deck in my eyes. If he could get up to 3ish assists per game that would also help things

@@wraithhoops Granted, some postup moves and a modicum of passing would elevate Lauri's game close to actual superstar level, where he isn't. I was actually surprised to see him ranked "only" 16:th in NBA for players ending the attack once getting the ball. Yes. He is high up on that list, but what should also be recognised is that he is also "wise" enough not to do and try stuff that he isn't any good at doing. It took him roughly 5 years to develop his defensive game, from a reletive traffic cone to somewhat neutral defender, which also probably was one of the key aspects he has worked on. At his best he probably is around top 15 attacking players in the league, while being a neutral-ish parameter defender against wings. Not enough to be the best player for a title-winning team, so definitely something for the organization to think about for next season. Having Lauri around isn't helping Jazz to completely tank, but realistically he is either 2'nd or 3'rd attacking option for a championship team. It's hard to see Jazz drafting or getting to trade in for the missing pieces, so it's a conondrum.

@hart63 I hear ya but I just used those 3 off the top a my head......I doubt Dominique Wilkins or Clyde Drexler or any of the teams that built from nothing and became a descent team had any interest in sitting or tanking you know.......most a the players I think would have wanted out and said they don't want to win etc.......just a different time I guess
