A habitual offender needs to given longer sentences as the prior charges come to light. I’ve noticed that the UK has not set mandatory sentences based on type of crime. Victims should be able to speak.

@@SuzyQ334 Canada's are too. Recently we learned that 2 of our worst killers are now going into luxury prisons. Luke Magnotta and Paul Bernardo. Bernardo's accomplice, Karla Homolka, has already been free for years, and has kids now, living under a fake name the government let her have. And the Greyhound Bus killer is also already free! Something Lee. They all deserve to be locked up forever, but nobody is even supervising whether or not Lee takes his schizophrenia meds! Canadian killers are constantly killing again once free. Daniel Gingras immediately killed 2 or 3 more people after escaping from an escorted leave. Why have the penalties never been increased, not even by the so called "Law And Order Party", the Tories? What a bunch of crooks they are! Look at Ontario's Premier Ford. How the hell did he ever get elected? He's as bad as his crack head brother. There is no hope for Justice in Canada.

There is more context to this story. After the Windsor Castle incident, Micheal Hammond was arrested with someone else - his girlfriend at the time. She worked for a London PR company. I think she supported him financially. That is how he managed to have access to celebrities, agents, events, newspapers etc. This documentary makes it sound like he was cold calling everyone off the street. London is a place you can attend a PR event every night of the week, get free booze and schmooze the 'famous'. He encountered that Corrie guy on that circuit. There's plenty of enterprising social climbers doing this all the time, to get a presenting gig or get on reality TV or whatever - What makes this guy different is that he was a loose cannon and did all that illegal cop impersonation stuff.

This was really interesting. He could have used his charm and outgoing personality much better to get to where he wanted......the fame, attention, adoring fans, but he just wasn't utilising his skills properly. Yes he was very clever in that he could manipulate and impress people, but he just didn't know when he was actually on to a really good thing. The television presenter job would have opened all the doors to him that he needed to further a fantastic career and be in the limelight. I guess at the end of the day he just got off on living in the moment and didn't think any further ahead than that.

All these scammer documentaries demonstrate is how shit the legal system is and how there appears to be no real punishment for these people. They never change, they have wrap sheets as long as your arm and then some, the fact they are so long despite how many times they’ve been arrested, charged and or imprisoned, shows that custodial sentences aren’t the answer. They aren’t learning anything, they aren’t reforming, they need sectioning.

Received a custodial sentence for up to 74 offences which included fraud and theft in 1987, yet he was released in 1989. Did they really expect him to be rehabilitated in that short amount of time? 19:29 By 1998, he had 102 criminal convictions and he continued to reoffend [when not in prison] until 2008 when he was sentenced to another 3 years. Unless he is locked up in an insane asylum under an assumed name, I somehow doubt that Michael Hammond is a reformed and upstanding citizen.

What?!!! He's a total narcissist. He probably would have been welcomed into the Met Police if they hadn't recently been declared unfit for purpose. I'm a law-abiding Londoner and these days "my" police force scare the living daylights out of me.
