🤓Don’s Bio🤓
America's #1 Nerdy Comedian
What do you get when you cross an Engineer with a stand-up comedian? You get Don McMillan. This former chip designer has been doing his one-of-a-kind, PowerPoint-Driven comedy show for audiences for over 20 years. In his show packed with graphs & charts, Don will show you the funny side of your world that has been sitting right in front of you - you are just too busy working to notice. Don graduated from Stanford University with a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. He then went to work at AT&T Bell Labs where he was part of the team that designed the world’s first 32-bit microprocessor. He then moved to Silicon Valley where he helped launch the start-up company, VLSI Technology. Then after 15 years in the tech world, Don quit his job to become a stand-up comedian. That year he won $100,000 as the Comedy Grand Champion on “Star Search”. Don’s been seen on “The Tonight Show”, “HBO”, and the “Comedy Central”. These days, Don spends most of his time writing and performing customized corporate comedy shows for companies like Google, Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, Ford Motors, and Exxon/Mobil. Don has performed more than 800 corporate shows in the last 20 years and he was named the #1 Corporate Comedian by the CBS Business Network.

As an engineer myself, I too must give kudos to Don for presenting his material in a comedically efficient and cost-effective manner.

Some of those animations must have been put into the program as a joke. There is no way to make them look anything other than dumb.

I have really enjoyed following Don's comedy, but :: HOLY WAH !! He's the real deal!! MS Stanford!!! Chips designed!!! Chuckle along as you will, this guy has a proven track record of actual smarts and accomplishments. To me, this makes his key points even more funny. You go, Don, and Thank You.

I’m 80, I was in college when they used slide rules. The engineer majors always had slide rules attached to their belt. The double E majors (Electrical Engineer) were really weird but so smart.

As a retired engineer I'm embarrassed to admit I've made all those mistakes. I've watched some of his others videos and get a chuckle from them.

Imagine not uploading the power point online after the show and sending everyone a link. The first crowded slide is already what I notice at engineering school class seminars. It's like people weren't taught you have presenter notes nowadays for power point and you don't have to write all of your sentences on the slide. People can't follow your talk and get tired out trying to read it and then just start ignoring the presentation.

dont forget what an older video of yours included! 1 message for the whole slide. wanna do 2 messages? put each in their own slide not more than 6 objects on a slide, and brain is happy the powerpoint's point is to make it easier to follow what youre saying, as in just include important notes that are easy to follow. the detailed info is supposed to be you talking, or you might aswell just send em the powerpoint and meeting's over

It bothers me greatly the number of people who mirror their laptop screen to the projector, present at the wrong aspect ratio or fuzzy because the projector and laptop resolutions don’t match and it’s optimizing for the laptop, and then have wordy slides that they read off. Speaker notes and presenter view exist for a reason, use them!
