FYI. Taiwan is NOT a province of China. Just bought a set of these with 25% ITC discount. It seems a good set.

A good alternative is the Gearwrench set, but I'm not 100% sure that can be bought in Europe. But if so you might check that out probably on Amazon.

yeah i also noticed the odd cup sizing on the SAE Icon swivel set the last time i went to my local HF. In the end I went with the Sunex SAE and Metric Icon. I hope icon fixes this issue in the future.

Yeah very weird, only thing I can think of is maybe some specialty automotive applications idk. Hopefully they do, it is irritating to look at lol.

You may want to rethink that Gearwrench recommendation. The Torque Test Channel showed them to be the worst in a review of several brands of swivel sockets.

Just watched it, yeah that's defiantly not good. I think someone commented below also that they had the GW and said they failed easily.

I want some icon but I can’t justify the costs or the hassle I get at local stores asking for phone number for warranty replacement. I already made mistakes buying their products

Yeah they are still pricey even from HF, that gearwrench set looks good though and is a lot cheaper. I haven't had a issue with my store, granted I haven't had to warranty any ICON yet but I did notice in the clearance section some different icon sets which looked like they had warrantied different sockets out of. I do wish Sears was still around, it used to be so easy at least for me to get anything warrantied there. The professional line was nice, now craftsman is 10% if that of what it used to be.

@@Tools-Tested I agree. Gearwrench worries me as I had trouble with warranty repairs for Channellock mech tool set which is Apex. It cost too much money and time on my end compared to those that email pics like tekton or Capri. Maybe I am mistaken and they changed their terms at GW. Other yt channels have said the GW 84 tooth ratchets went downhill. I’d be willing to pay up s little more for icon, but most is 3-4 Pittsburgh costs

I agree I think Icon still needs to come down some. Haven’t really looked at tekton or Capri but they seem to be growing fast.

I don't have the Icon set because I bought the Sunex set years ago before Icon even existed. But honestly you should just give them your phone number. They have a lifetime warranty and an actual store you can get a replacement at instead of waiting to have a replacement shipped to you. That's worth a few extra bucks for the convenience.

Keep an eye out for an open box. Got the metric set today for 50$. Just missing the 21mm. Gonna buy a sunex or Capri replacement off Amazon for 15$.

"If you bought the Snapons... ...they'll be a little bit higher quality" No lol, vastly better quality, and they are guarenteed to be alive and well years beyond your life expectancy. Not to say that the Icons are bad, but saying 'a little better' is the understatement of a century. And the MSRP price... I understand that you have to compair MSRP for arguements sake, but for everyone else that doesn't know, you don't have to pay MSRP. I've NEVER payed MSRP. Got my Masters series box for 2200, and with a MSRP of 8-9k, I basically stole it. For the rest of my life I can get anything warrantied. If it ever gets discontinued, I'm just given a new box. Not something I could ever expect from Icon, let alone Harbor Freight. While most normal people may think that Snapon is too expensive, and I can agree sometimes, they don't understand the value of the item itself nor the value of the extra services that come with those items. All the services and items that are made by YOUR fellow Americans, serving other Americans for lifetimes to come.

I don’t understand why they don’t make a Metric set from like 17 or 19 all the way up to 27 or 30…..I’d never use a 10 or 12 in 1/2 drive so find that lower range on 1/2 drive a waste of money and Toolbox space.
