It was time to once again get to Warszawa Zahodnia station and explore more of beautiful Poland.
This time, we set our sights on Łódź, also known as the Manchester of Poland for its role in the cotton/textile industry back in the 19th century.
While, we liked Łódź right away, our impression of it skyrocketed once we began discovering its hidden spots thanks to Aleksandra, our amazing guide.

OMG you came to Łódź!!! :D That's so awesome! I told you it's interessting city. I am so happy you invited a guide. This city hardly slaps you in the face, you need to look around, be nosy, walk into gates off your route and for that a guide (or very planned trip) is necessary. You've seen everything I wanted you to see! I am so happy! Thank you for visiting my city :)

Hello my loves!! I absolutely am falling in love with Poland…and with this city! I even checked online for the restaurant “Manekin”. Hoping maybe. ..just maybe there is one here in the states.l LoL. The food looked so delicious. Especially that dessert! There is one in Warsaw too. I love places like these. Has that city feel and also kind of a hipster vibe. When I come to Poland.. I would love to visit this place. Great video my friend. Looks like you had an amazing time. You know…Watching your videos. And experiencing these places along with you, makes me realize there is so much to explore everywhere! I live in the Los Angeles area… how many places I know I haven’t explored.? Yet.

10:26 Łódź is home to Polish Film School and in general a powerhouse when it comes to movie industry. Sometimes jokingly called Hollyłódź ;) hence also the boulevard with stars. 17:15 Manufaktura (similiarity with 'manufacture' not random - in polish it's a factory where there is craft production) is not only in industrial style - it is an actual old textile factory converted into shopping mall.

There was a concept not to rebuild Warsaw after the war. Lodz was to become the capital. It even was for a while. The Łódź Fabryczna station is still empty. Underground work is underway. A cross-city tunnel is under construction, which will connect this station with the central railway lines of the country and create the Łódź Underground Railway. A new center of Łódź is being built next to the station. Work carried out underground. You watch the music video: Meskie Granie Orkiestra 2021 (Daria Zawiałow, Dawid Podsiadło, Vito Bambino) - Ciebie też, bardzo Meskie Granie is an annual series of concerts sponsored by Żywiec Brewery. The music video 2021 was filmed in Łódź, at the Center for Science and Technology EC1 (Center for Science and Technology EC1). A new town hall, residential, office and commercial buildings will be built in the New Center. Vehicle traffic will take place underground. In this video you will see excerpts from this investment.

I'm glad that You were in Łódź and you appreciate this city. many people still complain that it's an ugly city, but I think a lot of people were either never there or were long ago. As I wrote to you once, it is a very young city with an industrial history. it is too dirty and worn in places, there are many gaps in the housing, but everything takes time. I believe that the proximity of Warsaw takes some of the potential of Łódź. but maybe someone will finally use it as an advantage. I warmly greet You and wish You always feel at home in Poland. lots of peace

I saw in one of your streams people commenting to don't go there. The problem with the city is you can love it or hate it. I guess these second part of people doesn't experienced Łódź properly. You need to know where to turn, what to seek, what to choose... good you have a guide. PS. for all foreigners who love The Witcher series - author of books Andrzej Sapkowski live here, also first The Witcher games were produced there. Łódź is the home town of this saga and besides this huge witcher mural we have even Little the Witcher Square;) Soon you can learn more about the books and comics in EC 1 - this space station near Łódź Fabryczna rail station.

Łódź has been basically created by the decree of Russian tsar in the mid 19th century, when he decided it's going to be a good location for textile industry. From that day onwards Łódź exploded in population and significance. It was the hot hub of early Polish capitalism, though most businessmen who came into Łódź textile industry were German or Jewish. Lodz is whatever you want to make out of it. It used to be very unimpressive, neglected industrial or post industrial city with a very high crime rite for the Polish standards but it has definitely some weird charm to it. It is the Polish equivalent to the Hollywood, Lodz is where you have the best film studios and the best cinematography academies. It used to be the second largest city in Poland but during the 1990's and rapid deindustrialization it lost like 15-20% of its population and has been overtaken in its spot by Krakow and it is a little chance that Lodz will regain its previous position as the #2

Aleksandra, What a pretty blouse! And I wish I had your hair. I love the murals! And the old factory buildings remind me of Waltham, probably where my mother used to work although I cannot find both a picture and the name of the company at the same time while doing a search. But I search for the name and I keep getting the same picture. Interesting... James! Pan slower. I'm probably the only one who's getting dizzy, though. Thank you for taking us to all of these places! In the train station looking down on the trains is awesome! What a great angle! Thank you for including it. I haven't ridden trains very much. The commuter trains in Boston up to Rockport or down to Westwood. Otherwise just the subway and the trolleys and the elevated train which is actually the same train car on varying levels. And too many have been replaced by buses. Now I understand why every European language teaches you how to say where is the train station? It's odd that I could only remember it in Polish and French but not Spanish. You would think that would be easier. Maybe we were busy looking for the library instead? Obviously I have not yet finished. I'm sort of spreading it out, hoping it won't disappear in the interim.

My home town :) You can love it, you can hate it, or both ;D But it has own special filling. There so many cameral places to sit and listen to free concerts, etc. But you can get from Łódź what you search. If you're searching old dirty scary bulidings you can find it. If you want industral feel you will also get it. Łódź is city wit two faces. Ask locals for help if you want to see this better, not obvious one :) From living wise perspective rent or flat prices are almost half then in Warsaw. And threre isnt so many new developments. You have ones with high prices for example lofts and many post soviet buildings where flats are not so nice as new one.

If You decide to go to Kraków then I would highly recommend going to a bar called RE at night, more precisely going to the garden they have. It's magical as long as it's not too cold outside. For lunch I vouch for Dynia Resto Bar.

I love the modern style buildings.... Oh, I love the red brick building across the square.... ! Oh, I love centres... I wish to live in the downtown.... Oh, let's look around the residential estate in Wilanow... maybe we can rent something there.... 🙄

I've never been to Łódź so it was a nice trip, it reminds me of Jersey City. Thanks. I wish I could see your face when Aleksandra told you it says 'foka' on the t-shirt. Wait when you find out how polish ducks quack ;)) Marina looks great! I don't know how she manages to walk all these distances, especially without going to a restroom every five minutes. Seriously, I'm truly impressed. Once the baby is born she needs her own youtube channel!

Aleksandra, you are great in explanation what tourists must see in Łódź. Are you a tourist guide job? If not, you definitely think about this kind of job in the future.

wow, you finally reached 'Polish Detroit' (might have been Manchester 100 years ago)! when i was leaving few years ago it was the ugliest city in the country. I moved out when Off (pretty cool place) was starting to be a thing and just before that new station was built. Lucky you didnt see the old one. I might visit this year as well and see all the changes

Poland is so beautiful (especially mountains) and still improve own infrastrctures. Definitely every tourist need to minimum one month to see most of all atractions and tourist places in Poland. :)
