From the pilot episode, when Tori kissed Beck to get back at Jade, I could understand why Jade would be so hostile towards Tori. Also, Beck seemed to enjoy getting Jade riled up, and they even got back together because he missed fighting with her.

Going to say this Tori and Jade had more chemistry than Beck ever had with either of them. And the absolute disgrace that the writers chose Beck and Tori when Andre and Tori were right there. RIGHT THERE.

Jade and Tori's dynamic is the greatest on the show, romantic or platonic.

I think the argument Beck and Jade had in the closet with Cat was very telling about Cat’s personal life. The way she was saying “I’m under my bed” and panicking was so heartbreaking. You can tell that Cat has a very dysfunctional family (and all the stories about her brother don’t help). For a comedy relief character, she had the saddest back story in my opinion.

I still don’t understand why they didn’t even give us a hint of Tori and Andre. That could’ve been a good episode since they have so much chemistry staying up late and writing and working on songs!! Even if it was cliche I still wish they would tease it

I shipped Jade and Tori much like I shipped Sam and Freddie. They have their similarities but bounce off each other in a different way. I know Seddie didn't work in the end which is fine by me but in my head, Jade and Tori went to college and ended up together.

Beck literally said in almost two years, he couldn’t remember the last time she did something nice for him. I mean think about it, they were together for nearly TWO YEARS, & Jade literally has done NOTHING for her in all the time they were together!!! How sad is that?! For me that speaks volumes because to me, that basically means Jade obviously doesn’t appreciate having Beck in her life, not mention how incredibly jealous she becomes, whenever Beck is associating with another girl. To me it seems like Jade views Beck as her property as opposed her significant other.

Jade and Beck's relationship is toxic as Jade lets her insecurities, jealousy, and bad attitude affect her relationship with Beck. Jade gets jealous whenever another girl talks to Beck or interacts with him. Then there's the comment Jade makes that Beck can only be friends with "ugly" girls and gets violent towards him and can't trust him (which makes sense as Back doesn't set boundaries for himself when he interacts with other girls, as we see in the show). When they do break up, Jade still doesn't like Beck hanging out or dating other girls, and the first time they break up, she wants him back to the point she's desperate and does whatever she can to get Beck back, hell, Beck admitted that he's happy that they broke up as Jade isn't a good girlfriend or done anything nice for him. Then Jade's nasty attitude in general always ruins their moments when they are together as she makes snide comments, lets her anger get the best of her, and at times, they can't have a normal conversation without them getting into a fight or Jade just letting her attitude get the best of her. Beck isn't innocent either as he is too relaxed when other girls flirt with him, doesn't set healthy boundaries for himself for both his relationship with Jade and other girls that openly flirt with him, doesn't properly talk to Jade about their feelings, and to me seems jaded (pun intended) from their relationship since we first meet them seeing how Beck doesn't stop Jade from being mean at Tori or other people. In many episodes of Victorious, whether together or broken up, we know how many girls openly flirt with Beck while Jade is around. He does nothing to stop the girls or Beck and Jade from talking properly to each other about why Beck lets all these girls flirt and touch him when he knows Jade will get jealous or why Jade feels jealous and insecure when other girls flirt with Beck. Also, if Beck does all of that to get Jade jealous because he likes to see that is a giant red flag to me (it reminds me of that episode in Adventure Time when Finn loved it when the Ice King and the Flame Princess got into a fight and when the truth was revealed the Flame Princess broke up with him as he was using her for his pleasure when the fighting between the Ice King and Flame Princess could've ended badly). Beck also doesn't take responsibility when he flirts with other girls or in his relationship with Jade. It raises the question about how they first got together, seeing how Jade is this scary mean girl who terrifies everyone that they don't approach her. We have Beck, the school's heartthrob, with every girl, both inside and outside the school, flirting and drooling over him. Beck is indifferent, does not interact with them, and does not set up proper boundaries when it happens. So, who was the first to ask each other out? At this point, I wouldn't be surprised that Beck made a bet with someone to ask out Jade, which led to this.

To answer your question about Trina, she got back into Hollywood Arts because Tori's friends staged a mugging to that Trina, who has martial arts training, could save Helen from the mugging and Helen would be so grateful, she'd let Trina back in. Which shouldn't work but it's nickelodeon so of course it did.

growing up is realizing Beck is more of a problem than the show pretends, because he absolutely welcomes and enables attention and flirtation his way, and while Jade is of course written as an over the topic toxic gf, it IS always left to her to establish that he has a girlfriend. The problem is, it's always depicted as Jade being unnecessarily territorial, with no focus being on Beck for passively welcoming the attention. Not saying Jade isn't behaving poorly often, but Beck absolutely knows about her insecurities and her bad buttons, and he either pushes on those, or lets others push on those.

This triangle is so weird because the Tori and Beck ship never really had a chance, so it never really lead to anything. I was definitely pro Tori and Andre, I know people like them as just friends but they had way better romance potential than Tori ever had with Beck. Also Beck is the worst, he had his fair share of instigating toxic situations in his relationship with Jade, but he seems to always blame it on Jade and acts like he didn’t do anything. Although Jade was also her worst self when she was with Beck, she was actually comparatively sweeter around Tori. It was just a really rough relationship and they should have stayed broken up. I also really disliked the hints at physical abuse in Jade and Beck‘s relationship.

What makes me love Jade and Tori more is the fact Nickelodeon made a KZfaq video on the ship and if they would be good together which basically confirms that what we saw of them being romantic is real

I do feel bad that I still write fan fiction about Victorious considering how much harm the writers, cast, and crew went through. It is difficult to part from it completely considering that it did make an impact.

As a theatre major, I have a few oppositions on some of the points against Beck at the beginning. When he agreed to kiss Tori during the improv game, a lot of people use that as a point of him being toxic. Listen, in improv, it's a rule to say yes to everything (they literally have an episode in the last season for that). He can't just say no in the exercise, especially since Beck's main thing is acting and he takes it seriously. Given, he could have been creative on not doing it without saying no, but I can't fault him for saying yes to it. The last point you brought up was her saying "Whoa," to that scene in the musical. While we could say maybe it's her dealing with her feelings for Beck, I can say that sometimes when you rehearse scenes like this, sometimes you finally feel the emotions in the scene, even when you’ve rehearsed it before. It takes a bit to finally get into your characters and when you have that breakthrough, it can hit but maybe that's what I've seen 😂. But I will agree with the rest of Beck's points of not being a good boyfriend to Jade. Idk, this love triangle is so weird to dissect, you know. But I do agree - Jade and Tori had much better chemistry than the other combos 😂

If you ask me, I have to say that the show wasted a lot of opportunities. If they weren’t going to make Andre and Tori a thing given the chemistry between the characters, they should have gotten Beck out of that toxic relationship he had with Jade and have him go out with Tori, who he obviously liked better

Honestly, I get your point in saying we are missing nuance is Becks dismissive "relax" response to Jade's anger in the coffee spill scene; That she has been very jealous for some time, but I feel like some of that context also falls back on Beck. Throughout the show Beck exbibits some questionable behavior in terms of loyalty and downplaying Jade's reaction to this. I mean in this episode alone he kisses another girl in a improv that seems completely unnecessary to need to follow through with, quite eagerly. He's also very comfortable receiving flirtatious remarks from numerous girls throughout the show without informing them of his girlfriend. It seems to be a consistent element of their relationship. I feel like Jade clearly crossed over into being controlling and unhealthy with her responses, but I think a huge chunk of that is a reaction to Beck constantly doing shady things with some level of deniable plausibility and basically gaslighting Jade and making her look crazy. I mean anyone would go crazy in those circumstances, but especially someone who has a pre-existing insecurity that is getting triggered constantly. I get it was probably suffocating to Beck to have to navigate all the time when it was irrational, but turning to basically getting back at your partner for that vulnerability is just sick.

i know they never would've made a queer storyline on the show, and that they were actively trying to be anti-ship to not deal with the stuff they did with icarly, but in the imaginary scenario where i have a time machine as well as a mind control machine to force everyone to adhere to my vision lmao, i would've done something like, after the jade and beck break up, their relationship actually gets better like as friends, we see them be better friends than they ever have been a couple, like she has a moment like the one in the clinic where she realizes she has nothing to be jealous over. meanwhile i would keep whatever beck and tori moments, like push the attraction a bit. then i would add a tori and jade sidequest, that shows how well they work together, like their dynamic, like the date episode. and so how i would start a big storyline, i would have jade and tori arguing for some reason, and tori being like why do you hate me i am nothing but nice to you, and jade being like ur so annoying and perfect all the timehave one of those classic screaming matches that ends with jade kissing her. then they move apart, and tori says like "woah" and jade freaks out and leaves, with tori too stunned to move and the the episode ends there lmao. then for some reason i picture jade going to beck to talk and freak out (again in my scenario now they're friends) like gah i kissed tori what the hell, and meanwhile we get tori talking it through with andre, and like the scene would cut between the two conversations. and i think jade would come to the acceptance that she likes girls pretty quickly, i always saw her as bi, but she could be gay, it really doesn't matter. i would adjust for it regarding her past relationship with beck depending on which is it, but ultimately it wouldn't affect anything. the girls would be awkward/avoiding each other though, and like everyone would feel how weird it is, but i think their friends would make them talk through it. there are a lot of things that we could do, like we could play up the love triangle except this time its beck and jade both having feelings for tori and her not knowing what to do, and meanwhile beck and jade being friends but also competing and it gets intense cuz they know hoe the other plays. or we could have like one of those where jade realizes she has feelings for tori obviously and decides to tell her, but before she can, tori says something that makes her think she doesn't have a chance so she doesn't say anything and just goes along with it. classic miscommunication. or tori could be the one who is ready like after the kiss to explore things with jade, but jade is the one who like pushes her away before she can admit anything. the world is our oyster. but i think ultimately they would get together, jade and tori i mean, and everyone would support it and it'd be really cute. and after they get together, i'd have them have cute couple moments after, cuz too many times have i seen a couple get together and not have anything change lmao. and for beck i have a hot take, well not so hot cuz i stole it from quinton reviews lmao, but i think since beck likes a girl who fights back and has her own opinion, he could def have a thing with trina. i kinda picture it like that one episode of shake it up where ty goes on a date with tinka at first because he is paid to but actually ends up liking who she is after getting to know her, like he would spend time with her one on one and realize that she is awesome actually and they have a lot in common, i think they would be really cute for a little while. anyway all that to say, would've been super easy to make tori and jade a thing lmao

Honestly I never shipped Beck and Tori or Beck and Jade as a child. I only cared for Tori and Andre the whole series. Now that I'm older I realize Beck and Jade are just that relationship you stay in when you're young because you've gotten used to it and the idea of being single again scares you. It's just the kind of relationship where you are in it because you feel uncomfortable with the idea of change and have your life too enmeshed with the other person to fully leave.

Jade and Tori were just good friends. Idk how ppl seem them as a couple. I feel like Tori was also just that reliable good neutral friend, that was good looking. She made some mistakes for sure. But just main character wise, she was just a great friend. I think Jade really thought of Tori as a threat, so the jokes of Tori getting hurt like falling off the building stunt, gorilla, and shovel. All jokes intended to show she didn’t like Tori. It wasn’t until Beck tried to kiss Jade, that she actually began to like Tori. Beck, is just a guy, he doesn’t say much, he should, but not entirely all at fault.

Honestly, I hate to be a downer towards this video (don't worry not the video itself), but I just can't bring myself to ship Jade and Tori. It's the same with Sam and Freddie. I used to love Seddie as a child but now looking back I can see that not only were they toxic, but Sam was really abusive toward Freddie before and during their relationship. And I see no difference when it comes to Jade. After some reflection, I can conclude that I genuinely don't like either character. They're so rude and disrespectful and do some very out-of-pocket things that I just can't suspend my disbelief enough to enjoy them. I love Jade's aesthetic and the bisexual energy that she exudes, but my likeness for her ends there as I can't support her actions and therefore can't support her or any ship she's in. She was a straight-up bully to Tori and I just can't see past that enough to ship them. Doesn't help that I hate bully romances. No hate to the people that do ship them; you're entitled to ship who you want and if Jade didn't do all those nasty things to Tori I would've shipped them too because I'm not blind; they are the superior and far more interesting ship.

If anything, I ship Jade and Andre since I think there was an episode where they really connected. I also loved how the show didn't push Andre and Tori to be a couple. ever since quintonreviews covered victorious, jori has been in the back of my mind fjdjdj i've mentioned jori to my friends waaay too many times for someone who hasn't watched the show in a decade and almost certainly dropped cable before the finale. jori really is the stand out to me, i don't have a preference over friends to lovers vs enemies to lovers (pretty even split in my ships), but jori is just way more compelling than either option with beck. beck seems way too casual with his interactions with other women to have a healthy monogamous relationship and while jade is very obviously toxic, there's more appeal to that than a guy not caring enough whether he's emotionally cheating or not. i agree with what (i think i remember) quintonreviews saying, beck and jade may have been canonically endgame, but jori feels like they would have an explosive reunion post high school graduation (aka as adults) that would lead to a romantic relationship. they're kind of like courtney and gwen from TDI to me ig? i could see them having a similar path later in life together.
