I watched the Munsters since I was a child and still watch it now with my grandchildren. Never get enough of the Munsters!

The Munsters, Gilligan's Island, Batman, Star Trek, Dark Shadows, etc were all a big part of my childhood & watching them today bring back a lot of happy memories!

My mom watched The Munsters growing up. She shared it with me and I fell head over heels in love! Now, I watch it with my 2 year old son. He loves Herman and will sit and watch with me for hours!

The Munsters was a huge success here in England, airing on prime time Saturday nights on BBC One. Prime time Saturday television here in England was a goldmine and ratings proved it. Millions tuned in.

I actually like the fact that it is filmed in black and white. It gives it that classic look of old horror films, of which I'm a big fan.

It is hard to believe the Munsters show only ran 2 seasons. I think it was very funny and the actors made the characters seem really likeable. A truly talented cast and a very entertaining show. I truly wish this show had continued. I still enjoy watching this show greatly. Very sad to lose Fred, Yvonne, and Al. At least we can still cherish their characters and work on this wonderful show forever on DVD's .

I'm an 80's kid from Costa Rica and watching The Munsters at noon was the happiest part of the day. They are still aired regularly and I still feel that happy every time I find it. One of my all time favorite TV shows!

I didn't know how long it ran; I have watched every single one a hundred times. Fell in love with it as a child, and still watch them from time to time.

As a kid back in the 60´s TV seemed like heaven. You had The Munsters, Batman. Star Trek, Thunderbirds, The Magic Roundabout etc. Some realy crazy stuff around those days, full of charm and creativity. Times long gone.

Television was so much more family oriented back then. Nowadays, almost every TV show has to have foul language, sexual innuendo, and an idiot with an IQ lower than his shoe size portraying the "father figure". No wonder network television has lost 90% of their regular viewers. I feel fortunate to have grown up when parents didn't have to worry about their children seeing "adult content" on television. I was just a toddler when The Munsters originally aired, but I still think it's much better than just about any modern sitcom.

I recall the first episode of the Munsters and have been a devoted fan since 1964. The episodes never stale and I can watch any given episode repeatedly and its like the first time. Comic genius at its best. Fred Gwynn and Al Lewis nailed it!

What a great time to grow up as a kid, The Munsters, The Outer Limits (my fav.), Twilight Zone, Johnny Quest, Batman, Lost in Space, Addams Family, Famous Monsters Mag., Eerie, Creepy, Aurora Monster Kits and even my Mother had her evil soap opera - Dark Shadows ! and all those different Fri/Sat night Horror theatre movie that brought back all the Classic Horror & Sci-Fi movies and usually after that was mystery theatre with Sherlock Holmes or Mr.Moto or Charlie Chan !!! It was a great time for kids and parents ! I know I missed many more but there it is, I still love this stuff !!! Oh yeah and all those beautiful 1960s American cars !!!

I love how this was such a wholesome show. Such care was taken to keep it that way. All were great actors. It always made me laugh, especially how they tried to make Marilyn feel normal and that they felt so bad for her. Great show!

I remember when my uncle showed this to me and my brother when we where young I couldn't get enough of it. I definitely will show this to my kids someday instead of the garbage that is on today.

I miss the Munsters and all the shows like it.

I absolutely LOVE this show! Just a lot of clean, crazy fun! It was great!!!! The actors were absolutely wonderful. You couldn't replace them if you tried!!!

Even though a man of twenty two, my son watched online and loved it. He watched the shows one after the other. Yvonne was a great choice with those expressive eyes! Lovely.

The B&W approach, while cost conscience, gave the show a more eerie feel, imo. And the final casting cuts were another very good choice.

It's a shame that The Munsters was losing its ratings because of the success of Batman. I love both shows so much.

Herman's big laugh just makes me giggle...he was the best, along with everyone else on the show. I watched many episodes in the early 80's in high school in ND after school. Great to see the show Cozi here...one of my favorites for sure!

In 1993, I recognized Grandpa Al Lewis near my office in New York. I was not going to let the chance pass so I said "Al? Al Lewis! " He spun around and answered "yes." I told him how in college, we used to pile into the tv room to watch the show and how much we enjoyed it. I also told him that I knew that he was one of the best basketball scouts in the country. He was flattered and said "I am the best roundball scout in America." He really was a great judge of basketball talent. Later, I moved to Montreal and found that the Munsters were as beloved in Quebec as in America. Fred, Al, Yvonne, Rest in Peace, you made many people very happy.

LOL...... Reading comments, I see endless people saying how great it was to be a kid during those times growing up with shows like this. Guess what? I grew up in the 80's/90's and guess what shows I grew up to? MUNSTERS!, Adams Family, Patty Duke, Denis the Menace.... One of the last things mentioned in this video was how it is syndicated even now... meaning you guys were not the only generation lucky enough to have shows like this around. Ah ya, I missed one of top greats Beverly Hillbillies along with their spin-offs, petticoat junction/green acres. Thank god for reruns so I was too lucky because when it was old and on its 1000000th time airing, it was brand new to me :). And growing up, the channel was nickelodeon's spin-off that really brought the old stuff back to life and spawned its own full time channel Nick at Night. Before that all you could get ahold of really was Adams Family and Munsters on mainline tv, the rest was more newer shows or the more popular bigger hit old shows like gomer pyle andy griffith and such. When Nick at Night happened and my tv did not go dead after 10-11:-00 every night and kept playing shows instead of that "white noise" that dominated late night tv. One show I miss to this day is MR ED!!!! I remember the last "marathon" they did..... they did it with the promise that it "will never be aired again" "this is the last time" and I was thinking "ya right, it will be back on next year or 2 at the VERY most" lol....... to this day, MrED has been dead to tv :(. I am only 40 (well... in a couple months) and I bet I got the SAME nostalgia as any of you guys that watched shows like this when it first hit the airwaves. When they showed the pilot episode in this video i was like OMFG!!! WTF!!!! COLOR!!!!!! In my picture collection is a picture of the Munster set in Color, it wasnt during shooting or with any actors around, just a picture of the set with a more modern camera, so not even a "technicolor" color photo, but a real color photo of the set :) O ya and I did get to meet Donna Douglas once, she came to my church. Much older than she was back then but still wore the blue jeans with rope belt and shit and could still do that famous whistle lol. Sometimes I play some Earl Scruggs at work and a few of the "kids" are like WTF is THAT, and I tell em they know one of his songs and they assure me they dont..... until I say Beverly Hillbilly theme and they instantly have a connection to Earl Scruggs.... so dont give up on the younger generation quite yet :)

What is amazing other than their success was how many episodes they use to film for tv back then.. 70 episodes in just 2 years! man it can 4+ for shows to do that now, and the actual length is much lower.. to top it off they didn't make the money that stars make today

Reruns here in GB on BBC 2 and Channel 4 in the '80's introduced me to The Munsters, The Phil Silvers Show, The Addams Family, Car 54 (Where are you?) and The Beverly Hillbillies. All some of my favourite comedies.

You can't re-make a classic, the original Munsters cast had a magic and charisma that simply couldn't be recreated by other actors. Fred Gwynne and Yvonne De Carlo as Herman and Lily were my favourites, wonderful actors both and you totally believed they were a happily married couple!

Met Fred Gwynne on the set of Pet Sematary. I was his stand in for a day. Nice man.

Happy Halloween! I grew up in the in the 1960's. Did not discover "The Munsters" until the early 1970's. By far the best of the best of the spooky 1960's T.V. series (The Addams Family, Bewitched etc.) Seen every episode at least 10 or more times, thank the T.V. gods for Re-runs! I enjoy this show to this day. Especially around the Halloween season. Brings back good memories of our generations childhood. Makes one forget, if even for 30 minutes, of all the bad things going on today. Thanks for the memories!

Growing up with shows like Gilligans' Island, the Munsters and others, it's almost shocking how short their runs really where. (2, 3 seasons sometimes)

Along with the Bundy's ( Married...with children) The Munsters are my ultimate favorite tv show-families! Huge love to everybody involved in creating The Munsters.

It would have been nice if they had talked about Jack Marshall, the guy who composed both the Munsters' theme as well as the incidental music. Music plays such an integral part in a show's mood and personality, and most of the time people don't realize it.

DeCarlo was brilliant. Her comic timing is fabulous, and even more amazing when you consider she was a dramatic actress before taking on Lily. She didn't just mail it in either, she was on board and helped make this show legendary despite its short run.

I was 4 in 1964 and I watched The Munsters during both seasons of its run, refusing to abandon it for Batman even though so many other kids of the day had. RIP Fred Gwynne, Al Lewis, Yvonne de Carlo and Beverley Owen. I'm glad I have the Peacock streaming video channel; so I can binge-watch both seasons of the show.

Man...I was 6 in the fall of '64. I remember The Munsters though. I'm glad they switched to the Eddie Munster we know and love bcuz that kid in the pilot was terrible. The pilot Lily was wrong too.

The Munstermobile is all it took for me to love this show.

I enjoyed the Munster's and the Aadams Family very much while growing up. Someone of the day thought to interview a psychiatrist about the shows thinking they would trash them. The psychiatrist declared them to be the two most wholesome and loving family shows on TV.

This,without a doubt, is the FUNNIEST sitcom ever! I'm old ,when Star Trek came on I watched 👀 The Muensters ,When The Addams Family came on ,I watched 👀 Lost In Space. One of my favorite episodes is when Herman is taking pictures in the park,and, the statue came to life and ran 🏃‍♂️ away!!! PRICELESS!! Did I say old? I meant old school 🏫

i loved this show as a kid.. and watched reruns for decades.. its amazing it only lasted a few seasons.. it was hilarious, had A list actors, and great set ups and scenes.. this, and the Addams Family, were absolute MUST SEE TV back then.. Fred Gwynne was also in "Pet Sematary", My Cousin Vinnie" to name a few. Ivonne DeCarlo had a long list of movie credits..and was gorgeous in her own right.. and lets not forget the cars... ooooooh. loved those dragster styled hot rods.. even had models of them later on i put together, painted, was really proud of.. A Wonderful trip down a long memory lane... some of this i had completely forgotten, glad to see the Munsters in all their glory again.. thanks so much ! !

Fred Gwynne was a hell of a good actor and it's a shame his career suffered for years after the show was cancelled. Very talented man, wide range and a great voice, he could do it all.

The best part of The Munsters was the fast motion. It always made me laugh.

Its kind of depressing to know Fred Gwynne hated being Herman Munster, because so many of us Loved ole Herman. It was that wonderful combination of Frankenstein’s Monster meets Ward Clever that everyone loved, and you add to it Fred’s natural comedic timing, and his sort of Lou Abbott bumblery , it truly made a lovable character, as proven with the passage of time

The Munsters scared the crap out of me, from age 6 to 8, but I had to watch it because of my six older siblings. To this day, Eddie & Grandpa still freak me out! But there was Marilyn, who even then I had fallen for!

Knew Al Lewis when we did KPFK pledge drives together in the 80's. A great guy & a true mensch! Delighted to have known him.

Absolutely loved this show... Collecting all the Munster model cars, action figures, and bubble gum cards sure was great fun... Great memories!!!

It was great seeing those famous monster model kits from the early 1960s in this terrific show. I remember all of my friends eagerly awaiting the next model kit, featuring Dracula, the Frankenstein monster, the Wolfman, the Mummy, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, Mr. Hyde and even King Kong and Godzilla. I remember that Revell and Monogram Models also had model figures of popular super heroes like Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, the Hulk and Captain America. They would all look great on the mantelpiece today in 2022.

Marilyn's dates meeting Herman and running off in fast motion over the fence and burning rubber away from the house were some of the best scenes. This was good clean TV in the 1960s. Love it!!

I loved watching this show as a kid. One of my favorite episodes is when Herman buys a car from fair deal dan. When he gets home with the car it falls apart. He goes to return the car but fair deal dan has packed up and skedaddled. Great show...They just don't make 'em like that anymore.

I was glued to the TV watching back in the day, I absolutely loved this show still do.

as a kid I was really excited when this came out and I flipped over recognizing Herman and Grandpa from one of my favorite shows, Car 54 . All the actors fit those parts so well you can’t even imagine anyone else even being thought of. Back when TV was for the whole family and not rude and crude like today’s sitcoms. My Grandfather had Charles Addams books and I read those as a kid ,so when the Munsters and Addams Family came out I was ecstatic!

One of my very favorite TV shows when I was growing up. Loved how they so valued good manners and good citizenship. Trivia note : Every episode contained the use of fast motion filming of some sort or another. Film speeded up. Always funny.

We got this show in the UK a few months after the US as we did with most comedies, there was no colour TV in the UK till 1969 so being in B&W was fine. I was around 14 at the time & loved it..

It was truly a great show. I have many fond memories of the show. I loved the show and still catch it from time to time. I wish there were shows like this still today. I was lucky to grow up in this era.
