Surprisingly I heard that the oak cover version sounds different to this one because it has more gaps in the cover so the mic adjusts the sound.

The mic will always adjust to make it sound the same for both, even something as little as cloth can impact sound weirdly

@@Mikipedia Thanks for your reply. Yes I didn't realise it adjusted for the cover type as I just heard the oak cover let more sound through or something. Well I'm very happy with the silver version. It's a huge improvement over my Beolit 20 and sounds much clearer than my ancient Beosound 8 iPod dock lol. Are you going to do sound tests for the Beosound A5 as I heard from another B&O KZfaqr that A5 sounds better than Level.

👍 Thanks for the sound test! Do you think 2 levels paired together could come close to the A9? Where would you say this fits in terms of sound quality in the beosound family?

Not really as you'd still be limited by frequency curve which is a lot wider on the A9. In terms of total volume it may be a lot closer but you'll loose some of the quality when you push that hard on two small levels vs one large A9. That's not two say two levels wouldn't be awesome, it's just different.

Clarity wise thr.is no compromise with b nd o products but what about t bass ot level sir?i have beolit 17 nd it has decent bass for its size

What do you think about the missing features like Halo Support, no „Touch to join“ and Multiroom with Spotify Connect ? I have my Level at home and love the sound and Design. It’s great but.......

They said most of what you're missing, if not all of it, will be added back by Q3/Q4. So while annoying now, which I get, it will come back. How I use it I don't mind too much atm, but would love for it to come back obviously. I mostly use it for radio and some streaming atm and videos ofcourse :p

Differing info - B&O website say Beosound Level has 16 hour battery and and frequency range down to 39 hz . Is it on par with the Beolit 20 sound wise? The Beolit has the low base rumble but it also produces super clear vocals with nice treble range . 🎶🤗

I literally read the spec sheet I had, don't know what changed or it they made an error :p I did quote the battery right, but also said I got around 10-11 hours in my use case which is above the normal listening volume but well below ''loud''. The Level is waaaaay better than the Beolit, there is no comparison really. It's insane how good it is for the size.

@@Mikipedia Miki does it keep the sound clarity off axis ? If you have it upright does it lose any treble definition when listing from the side

@@CraigIvor Not really, oboviously the middle is best but I only start to notice it around 70-80 degrees off axis depending on how far away you are from it(the further away the more shallow the angle can get) But you have to be pretty much dead on the side to really notice it, Just tried it by walking around it :p

Hi Miki, How did you connect your iPad to the level? Via Bluetooth or AirPlay? And was there any noticeable delay between the video and the sound (lip sync)? From what I can see it seems ok but I just want to be sure. Many thanks in advance. Kindest regards.

Hi Alain, I connected them over Airplay and had no noticeable sync issues. I take it you would like to watch video/movies with it? That'll work just fine imho.

@@Mikipedia Hi Miki, Thanks for your quick reply! Yes indeed, I would like to watch Netflix on my MacBook and have the sound streamed to the Level. I am still hesitating also between the Bakance and the Stage. Listening to music is also important! Any advice?

If you do any TV/Movies at all, I would highly recommend the Beosound Stage. The Stage is good ad music too but it's by far the best for TV/Movies.

You can ask me what ever you like mate, no worries. Thing is, if there is any TV or movies involved I'd go for the Beosound Stage. The Stage is better than the Level (but not portable) and better at movies and wider stereo than the Balance (although that slightly gets the nudge for music), but the Balance is also the most expensive of the lot. The Stage is a real winner and last year we dubbed it (with the audience) Best B&O Product currently available and I still think it is! I love mine :D

Love your reviews!!! It seemed like the horizontal front facing position sounded best? Or is it just me. There was a bit difference from when it was laying face upwards to the ceiling… I’m no expert… @mikipedia from that set up what was the best positioning that you prefer?

Horizontal is probably best for stereo imaging for normal use imho too. The vertical position doesn't sound bad, just different :p Thank for watching and commenting :D

It really depends on what you mean by that. I don't know what you understand to be ''overall better sound performance''. As in loud or true to the signal or stereo or nicer sounding, etc etc. It's not something I can really answer like this.

Any updates to this question? I am ready to buy 2 Beloit 20 or 1 Beosound Level but with no where to try this out, I need an experts opinion. My genre of music is R&B so I like deep bass and clean vocals without ear piercing treble. Please advise.

I still stand by the beolit 20. The full room sound and bass sound is unmatched. I played it in a high school gym the other day and it sound like a full sound system. I was unbelievable

Yeah, the Beolit 20 is very good indeed. The Level is more but also costs more, no bad choices here :D

I used to think that way... but once a buy my first b&0 and see the reacción of people asking...what’s that..it’s that a stereo??...you’re not just paying for a nice piece of equipment...but for most of the time a timeless piece...would you buy something Less expensive?.. yeah sure...but if you follow the b&0 designs from before, then you know their designs are been replicated if not copied from other brands...the industry of today is buy today and discard next year..with b&0 you will have years and years of use...

@@Mikipedia I’m not sure of you question...but if you mean by design, Bose,apple, Sony, Jbl and some other have copie the designs of b&0... compare the beosound 2 with Bose revolve plus or beosound A1 with jbl clip ...there’s many more examples...I do have several b&0 equipment from 10+ and they still look nice and modern...

@@fortanell1 I agree......I have several (Iconic) B&O Equipment in my home. Great designs and also great sound. But I don’t know with this WIFI-speaker......the same with the Balance....why would you buy something like that? I hope the Level will give B&O some profit in the near future. Let’s wait and see....👍
