I'm not saying they didn't deny like Peter did. I'm saying In the end Peter would have died and did for his beliefs. Was Soloman saved? He ended up being like those In this parable and it's worse because God appeared to him twice and gave him gifts. Nobody knows in the end if Soloman finally had full assurance in the one true God before he died. God brings disaster on Israel when they turn and worship other God's. He does this because they have no faith and it angers him.

@meka4021 I think so to. It's likely he knew his error In the end and was saved. I think God's mercy punished him but also allowed him to reach the assured faith in one God, before he died.

You do not have to be in a current state of assurance, absent from doubts, or order to be saved (in your case, remain saved). The one time moment of belief is what passes the individual from death to life. You are only “born again” once. We do not get born again into the body of Christ over and over again. Your “assurance” idea is based in the individual’s performance rather than one’s faith placed in Christ. The sealing of the Holy Spirit is a one time event that remains in the believer until they are with the Lord. John 3:6-18, Eph. 1:12-14, 4:30, 1 Cor. 12:13. - Trent

A Christian is a disciple because by definition the term Christian is a Christ follower. A believer is one who has believed in Jesus Christ, but he may very well not follow Christ. These two are not the same idea. You do not realize the contradictions of your own statements... Are you trusting in YOU to save you, or are you trusting in JESUS to save you? "Surrender your life, obey, desire, etc..." are what you preach. These things are works of your own doing. Jesus did the work by dying for all sin. The command is to believe in Jesus Christ for the full payment of your sins. You will never KNOW if you have eternal life by trying to surrender because you will always fall short in your ability to surrender. You cannot fully surrender, and we know that that is the call to discipleship. "Deny father, mother, count the cost, take up his cross, follow me, and forsake all..." How ya doing with all that? I trust in Jesus. THEN through the Spirit I am CAPABLE of doing these things. They are not automatic, but I now have the capability to do these things because I am born again. - Trent

Therefore, in order to be saved, you must count the cost, love Jesus supremely, forget your dead family and friends, deny yourself, take up your cross and forsake all that you have? That’s a disciple. Those things are NOT the same as believing in Jesus. You’re trusting in your own ability to save yourself which will fall short. You have to let them go. Jesus doesn't say deny yourself and follow me cause you'll get a hi five when you get to heaven. He says follow me and you will not fall into hell. The fear of the Lord men depart from wickedness. The fear of the Lord is to read his word and obey it. Fear him who can kill the body and throw your soul into hell. If you aren't following Jesus you are the foolish man who built his house on the sand the waves came and that house fell with a great fall. The wise man built his house on the rock when the weather came.the house was not moved. That's building our life and putting are trust in Christ the rock. Absolutely. That's repentance is turning to God. Surrendering to him instead of sin out of respect cause he died for us because of his love for us. He died for us While we were his enemies through are wicked works drunkenness,fornication, lies,are cursing, grumbling,are anger to others, using his name on vain and adultery. When we come to him with are sins laid bare We tell him to change us. Until you see how bad your sin is and you quit justifying it you won't see what Christ had to die for. Once a person sees how wicked they are in the eyes of God and the punishment they deserve. they will go to the foot of the Cross. And surrender all. Ezekiel 36 I will also sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. I will cleanse you from all your impurities and all your idols. 26I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes and to carefully observe My ordinances. This happens in an instance. God justifies you personally in his presence. You actually meet God. The miracle of conversion is you receive a new heart. God takes your hard heart that loves itself and sin. And gives you a new heart that loves righteousness and hates sin in you and all around you. He gives you power over sin.
