Pastor Jesse I have been listening now for a couple of weeks and spot on brother!!!! I am so encouraged by your messages. The last one about the "Lord, Lord" was truly amazing. I have been a believer for over 25 years, and I always skimmed over the "will of my Father" and its meaning. Absolutely beautiful fresh revelation, thank you!!! Praise Yeshua Hamashiach, our Great God and Savior!!!

Doing good works when your eternal life is secured just makes so much more sense than doing them to maintain your salvation. They come from the heart and love rather than out of fear of hell. It allows you to focus more on your neighbor and less on yourself.

However, I see this verse below. Ephesians 1 3¶Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: I see we are blessed with spiritual blessing in Heavenly places In Christ. Unless I over looked something about being disciplined if we don't to good works. I do believe in chastisement according to Hebrews 12. @bro.jamessoc5830 Hebrews 12 is a key area. It’s Fatherly discipline. I would argue concerning 1 John 5 and the “sin unto death” is a form of discipline to those who continue walking in their flesh. The Fatherly discipline is regarding sin in the life of the believer. The Corinthians are prime example for this. They even were told to abstain from fellowship from the guy that slept with his father’s wife. Many of the were sick and died due to their sin (1 Cor 6 and 1 Cor 11). Let me know if this short answer helps some. - Trent

Yeah it’s essentially reaping and sowing. God blesses those who serve Him. If you do not serve Him, you won’t receive such blessings, and God may even chasten you. Not doing works is sinful because it’s that of omission. To him that knoweth to do good and doeth it not; to him it is sin. Sin always brings forth some form of death, and that can come in the form of many consequences. This is of course barring that of eternal death. - Trent

Tit_3:8 " *This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to **_maintain good works_** . These things are good and profitable unto men* ." What Paul says confirms what Jesse has mentioned. This verse has _nothing_ to do with attaining or keeping eternal life, but maintaining good works which are *PROFITABLE UNTO MEN* . This is so the believer is not _unfruitful_ in their life. (Titus 3:14) Therefore a blessing for doing works as a believer ( *someone who has eternal life* ) is to have _fruit_ . Great job Jesse!

They don't rightly divide between Position VS Condition. They will look at verses which deal with positional truths, and then automatically apply them to the Christian's practical condition. E.g., they will go to Ephesians 1:3 where it says we are blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ, i.e., our position. And then ignore passages like James 1:25 where it says those who are doers of the work will be blessed in their deed, i.e., our condition. The Bible teaches both: There are blessings which every Christian receives by virtue of being "in Christ", but then there are other blessings which are conditioned upon each believer's personal faithfulness.

Your statement, "if you think you can lead a life of lazy leisures and get away with this," it can lead to confusion, could potentially cause confusion. New believers might mistakenly believe they need to follow Moses' laws and lead a Christian lifestyle to receive blessings. Some saved LGBTQ+ individuals might fear punishment for their identity if they were too weak to overcome it. It's important to note that Jesus isn't against leisure or even laziness. I've seen jobless Christians who play video games all the time. They share the gospel whenever they feel the call to an audience that couldn't be reached by regular pastors. God knows we needed salvation due to our failures and doesn't use our flawed nature for rewards. We can find rest in Jesus and grow spiritually. Being the best version of ourselves aligned with the fruit of the spirit is important, but work and discipline isn't the requirement for rewards. Otherwise, It's like getting a free smartphone only to discover it has nothing and you need to pay for its features. Rewards are still tied to faith and our testimony.
@BibleLine
@BibleLine 10 ай бұрын
We don’t point to the law in telling people to not be lazy. Proverbs has much to say about laziness, but James even more so. Salvation is not a reward; salvation is a gift by faith alone in Christ alone. Rewards do not simply come just because we believe in Christ. Yes we are given eternal life that cannot be lost, the Spirit, justification, children of God, and etc… Those are given at the moment of belief, but God still desires his children to serve him. This service isn’t a legalist stance, but we can’t be antinomian either. James very clearly says faith without works is dead (not to be interpreted Calvinist or Arminian). You are supposed to (commanded to) work so that you may bear fruit and profit others. However someone may serve the Lord is okay. We are to yield in obedience to the Spirit of God. Rewards do come from these efforts. Notice 1 Corinthians 3:10-16, 1 John 2:28, 2 Cor. 5:10-11, and James 2:12-14. There is some form of loss (not heaven…) to believers that are lazy and do not serve the Lord. - Trent
@gethsemane-777
@gethsemane-777 10 ай бұрын
@@BibleLine we might agree to the same thing if we agree that rewards isn't gained by following the laws of Moses. For instance, no one is losing blessings for eating sea food, or even eating in a eat-all-you-can buffet. A gay isn't losing rewards for still being gay (I'm not gay by the way). A person isn't cursed because they're not going to church or reading the bible daily. Actually, 'service' (becoming pastor or a street preacher) isn't for every believer and isn't the sole way to keep rewards. We receive rewards the way we're walking in the spirit, as said in Galatians 5:22, and it has nothing to do with the law. For example, 'saved' gays/lesbians can walk in the spirit by sharing the gospel with other people of their community for knowing they're saved and being grateful for it. A gay can love others, be peaceful and gentle, have strong faith in the blessed hope, etc. It's the same for everyone struggling with all sort of sins. I know chain smokers and drunkards who walk in the spirit and they do everything to share and protect the gospel, some of them are very good at edifying others in their faith.
@BibleLine
@BibleLine 10 ай бұрын
@gethsemane3309 We’re called to a higher standard than the law. The law condemns, but grace is loving and forgiving; yes. Nevertheless, homosexuality, drunkenness, lying, etc… is still condemned. This doesn’t mean we go to hell, but every time you sin, you’re literally going against God. I don’t even need the law to point this out. I could show you in Romans or Ephesians. Sin is still against God. A homosexual that believes will very well go to heaven, but continuing in the homosexuality is sinful and against God’s plan for the believer. It’s adultery, and adultery is still wrong for a saved person. We all still sin, but sin is never excused. Will I receive reward whilst in my sin? Probably far less because sinning causing breaking in your closeness to God; and you probably won’t witness the more you sin. I know this from experience. - Trent

If a person can say for themselves or someone else that a particular deed is "good", therefore according to the plans and purposes of His Will, then that person is claiming to be God Himself. I'm constantly surprised how many people with a little Scripture knowledge plus doctrinal tainting, are limited to provincializing an All Powerful God.

Yeah this "doctrine" began with Paul. I saw it in the word before I heard anyone else say it. However the "doctrine" that is spoken about in this video is a misrepresentation of what we are saying and what Paul clearly teaches. The Spirit is the blessing of the gospel. You can't earn more blessing than what you already have in the Spirit by faith. Saying that you have to do good works to gain what you already have in the Spirit by faith is Galatian error. I have blessing through justification. There are blessings and curses offered through the law but we are not under law and no one can keep it. The gospel secures my blessing which is the Spirit. And note it says that the perverted gospel is NOT another, it is the saving gospel but one which only gets you to heaven and does not provide blessing through the Spirit. It puts you back under works for blessing that you already have if you believed the gospel.

We consulted the scriptures, I have personally prayed about it. I’ve listened to your videos and a lot of Mr. Benjamin’s. Your doctrine is wrong. I myself, got sucked into this teaching when I was a young Christian, it sounded so great, so simple! I actually began to teach it to others. But, the more I learned and studied the word the more this doctrine fell apart and only served to jumble the scriptures into a mess. David, you and others of this doctrine are mean and backbiting at times and I don’t think you have taken the time to consider that. I've had the opposite experience, I listened to people in the pulpit and only ever heard heavy burdens preached, and when I actually looked at the scriptures for myself, I found the opposite to be true, Christ has taken our burdens. I am not against "good works" as many would like to say about me. I am all for good works that Christ as my life does in and through me when I'm walking in the Spirit, setting my mind on the things of the Spirit, renewing my mind in the truth, knowing who Christ is, what he has accomplished and who I am in him. I take no credit for my good works because they are his. I approached Galatians from looking at the blessings and curses mentioned and I saw that there is a perverted gospel that is the one that saves, it is not another, but it says you have to go back to works of the law to earn the blessing that you already have in the gospel by faith. The blessing is the promise of the Spirit, which we have by faith. Christ provides everything in his Spirit. I am just to walk in what he has already given me. @@petrarenatus1464 I have read Galatians, the whole book. I actually read it recently as well after learning of your way of interpreting it and trying to find in it, what you have taught. I do not agree with your assertions. There are certain things that you talk about: Walking in the spirit, our identity in Christ, our flesh never being able to please God, our not letting our flesh reign not by forcing it to obey (which it never will) but by yielding to the spirit: that the Bible also says. But I believe you have twisted some of those things and, in my opinion, made them confusing and empty. I think the whole doctrine of our “walk” as believers is simpler than you make it. It does seem Petra, that you are against “good works”. If that is not how you are meaning to come across, then I have misunderstood, but so have many others. Please know that I, or others I speak to about this issue are not against (I speak for I and them alone, not others) you, but I am adamantly against this doctrine. You can fall from grace, Paul says in this letter. Some people say otherwise. I believe PAul. People who aren't in grace can't fall from grace. Only those who are in grace can fall from it. Paul's warning is against believing circumcision(having to become a Jew as a CHristian and follow the Law of Moses) is required for salvation. Paul also warns the church(believers) as he does in all his letters don't think that because they are saved by grace through faith that somehow that innoculates them from falling from grace by living according to the flesh and not by the spirit. Both are true. He gives that long string of sins and then says I tell you again as I told you before that they that do such things shall not inherit eternal life. He's not saying unsaved people will not inherit eternal life! Duh! He's telling the church grace isn't a license to live in sin. Which just saying you lose rewards points, doesn't cut the mustard. Between trying to save yourself by your own merits and believing how you live as a Christian doesn't matter one bit as far as salvation is concerned is true saving faith and being led by the Spirit. To be led you have to be willing to follow and not resist kicking and screaming. FOr he that soweth to the flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap eternal life. You reap what you sow, that will never change.
