Great message . I have been saved since I was ten years old. I knew that I was a sinner and I needed a saviour. I Believed in John 3:16 . but people like Paul Washer came in and you are right he had me so confused I didn't know if I was saved or not. I couldn't see how anyone could be saved according to Washer. I hit my knees and prayed for GOD to teach me about Grace so I could understand it with my thick head. The flood gates of Grace teachers came into my life. I know without a doubt I am Saved by Jesus Christ' Finished work on the Cross paying the price for all of my sins with his blood . Thank you for a wonderful Sermon. GOD Bless

I’m glad Pastor Jesse brought up the Koine Greek people. To me, the ones who are educated in that language all of the sudden become the end all be all. I’m no longer just reading the word of God for myself but I’m thinking “oh I’d better ask so and so what this means in the original!” So now that man is my final authority and not Gods word that I can read for myself. I’m not against using the original Greek of course there is certainly a place for it but something goes terribly wrong when the gospel we have in Gods word becomes something different when we “go to the original Greek”.

Yeah, we know some very skilled Greek scholars that do an excellent job. They are humble men. The problem comes in when pride and knowledge puffs up the person. It is completely possible to understand the gospel as written in the KJV. Knowing the Greek actually bolsters the English, but doctrines of men (TULIP) force men to change definitions. - Trent

I love how the Bible speaks of people rejoicing when they believe and are saved! Some people (i.e. Calvinists) always teach you will be broken and contrite and sorrowful and crying and sobbing and who knows what else. Where is that in scripture?

Good point! When I believed, it was really no emotion in that particular moment. Nonetheless, later I realized the gravity of that decision and what Christ did for me when I thought about hell. That made me weep tears of joy realizing I do not have to go to hell. - Trent

I heard one preacher say he thought a person should be mature in the faith and have no sin in their life within two years of being saved. Imagine if we held that standard to a two year old.

When the holy Spirit is in you all you want to do is works that please your father. You are grateful for his sacrifice we didn't deserve. Your faith without works is dead. Works don't save us they are evidence. Works are evidence.a believer has come to know him. If you would be upset if God were to cast you into hell at this moment. You don't understand Grace. You don't see your sin as exceedingly sinful We all deserve hell. John 3;36 He who believes on Son has life,he who does not obey does not have life. Why call me Lord but do not do as I say. Believe is to submit.

I pray you understand. When you are saved you are changed. You do a 180 with God and sin.your whole life changes.you start to kill sin in your life. God gives us power over sin.But that doesn't happen until you surrender your life to him.
@BibleLine
@BibleLine 7 ай бұрын
@pfister2020 Believe is NOT to submit. That’s false. You’re cramming it into your own definition. Believing is putting your confidence in some stated or implied truth. Jesus died for my sin; I believe it. I’m saved regardless of the amount of “submission.” - Trent

It amazes me that Calvinists say you're not saved by an intellectual belief, but they speak against emotions also. So, the only assurance they have is their works. You can't trust your intellect or your emotions, so assurance comes by their works. God has given all men sufficient evidence of the truth.... creation and conscience. Calvinists basically teach that nobody has a conscience to acknowledge the truth. The Bible is pretty clear that everyone has been given sufficient evidence but they CHOOSE to suppress the truth.

So 1 John 5:11 is the object of saving faith? When we believe 1 John 5:11 "That God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son" then we receive eternal life (at the moment we believe 1 John 5:11)?

Correct me If i am wrong, please, for I just recently started watching your videos. How do you handle James 2: 14-26? It is my understanding that these verses in this chapter that describe "works" would be better phrased as "actions"? For our actions are outward manifestations of our inward belief? Not "works" that would merit favor in repayment, but works that would physically denote the inward faith that we have in Christ. And wouldn't this help go in line with Ephesians 2:10 "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them."? Generally curious about your insight on this, thank you.

Where does water baptism come in to this? Apparently the Eunich thought it was important
@BibleLine
@BibleLine 8 ай бұрын
Yes, but faith is what saved the Eunuch. Water Baptism is a picture of the spiritual baptism that takes place when you believe in Christ. When you are water baptized, you are identifying with Christ. It is picturesque in that you go down (death, burial) and raise out (resurrection). The water doesn’t save you. Your faith in Christ saved you. - Trent

@gregorylatta8159 Yes. This idea came up recently in conversation. The men at GES would probably not remove the cross in their day to day witnessing. It’s just ridiculous. The crossless gospel seems to be something simply written in theological works or discussed in theological circles. In reality, avoiding the cross is difficult and pointless considering adding it to a gospel presentation is literally a few seconds of time. The lost man does need to know enough of who this “Jesus” is and what He did for them. Why even avoid it!? - Trent

I have been seeing channels like this lately stating Calvinists like John Piper, MacArthur, Ray Comfort, Joe Kirby, Paul Washer, and others are works based teachers. That is not at all the case. None of them have EVER said you aren't saved unless you stop sinning. They all have said what the bible says, after you are saved your life changes and God changes your mind about sinning and you become sanctified more and more as time goes on. If there is NO fruit, then you might not even be saved. Examine yourselves! Work out your salvation. The bible says both of these things. PLEASE be careful listening to things like this. It is borderline progressive Christianity teaching people they cannot stop sinning, so it doesn't matter if they do sin because of saving grace. This is exactly what Jesus talked about with lukewarm Christians. It is fence sitting. If your sin does not bother you you'll never see your need for Jesus work on the cross. I hesitate to judge anyone and say people aren't saved, because I don't truly know them, but this type of content can lead people astray.

Jesse you need to quit your false teaching on discipleship and salvation. When you are born again you are saved and Christian at the same moment.A Christian is a disciple. It has been that way since the early church and it is true today.They are used synonymously. A disciple has a master. Even in karate. Why is he called Lord. Definition of Lord. Master,ruler, authority over. A believer is a Jesus follower. They make him Lord of their life. If you see that person continually living like Jesus is not Lord. He is a liar. A hypocrite. Beware of the yeast of the pharacies which is hypocrisy. His fruit will show he doesn't believe. Plain and simple. You are not saved by works they are just evidence of the new birth. 1 John Gives clear evidence of a believer. It gives believers assurance they have passed from death to life. 1 John should scare the hell out of a false convert. Because they know they don't have a new heart and new desires. Ezekiel 36

We are to warn believers in sin. So they turn back to God. After multiple times of warning them treat them as an unbeliever. So maybe they will repent.

Making Him Lord, living like a disciple, turning from sin, and showing forth works have ZERO to do with your salvation. Eph 2:8-9, John 3:15-18, 1 John 5:10-13. Believe in Jesus Christ = receive eternal life.

I've been in the presence of God twice. The verse.if you seek me with all your heart you will find me. Is so true. I grew up in a Christian home even went to a Christian church. I asked Jesus in my heart when I was about 7. I went to church with my family every Sunday till I was a senior in highschool. Went to college. only went to church for Easter or Christmas to make mom happy. This whole time I live in sin, lived for myself not for God. I drank fornicated lived for things that me happy. I even prayed and asked for forgiveness daily. Got married and had three kids after a few years I thought I should take the Kids to church. After a few months in church I started to really convicted of sin drinking porn and other sins. During this time I would hear in my head,if I continue down this path I would end up in hell . I thought I was saved. A few months later my wife came to me and wanted me to move out. It broke me,all could think about was my kids with another dad, not seeing them,and not being a family. I got on my knees and prayed like never before I told Jesus I would quit all the crap I was doing.drinking, tobacco,porn, anything I could think of I knew God didn't like. And live for him. After hours of praying and begging. He took my spirit out of my body and threw me into my chest where my heart is. God showed me how I was justifying my sins and excusing them. When I seen what my heart truly looked like,I felt horrible. I asked for forgiveness. At that moment Jesus came into my room.i could see the holes in his hands and he was so bright. He came towards me and wrapped his arms around me.ive never felt that much love and peace in my life. It's probably what heaven feals like. . I was saved at that moment. I knew my sins were forgiven. I understand Grace. Jesus pulled all the demons off me that I had let into my life. The first thing he told me was to get baptized and to forgive my wife for some things I was holding onto. Which I did. I was just forgiven of my sins. I was justified. The holy Spirit, spirit of Christ,has been with me and speaking to me ever since. I haven't drank looked at porn used tobacco since that night. And other things .I don't know the last time I cussed. I used to cuss in every sentence. He is still sanctifying me to this day. He has cleaned me of my idols. I wasn't saved when I was 7. I was believing a lie, easy believe lie from the devil. I was saved Feb 21 21 At 37 years old. I know now for a fact I would have ended up in hell if had died in my sins. Only by God's power I was saved, He allowed this to happen to bring me to my knees to surrender to him. He has kept my family together. Sunday is my favorite day. I teach a Bible study now. I read my Bible everyday. I hate sin now. Jesus hung on that cross for my sin. I was born again that night. I am a new creation. Ez36,25 the new birth I will sprinkle clean water on you,and you will be Clean, I will cleans you from all your impurities and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you,I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrease and be careful to keep my laws. How many Christians are living in there sins just like I was. They have never truly repented to God. Godly sarrow works repentance that leads to salvation. 2chron7,14 If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from there wicked ways,then I will hear from heaven and I will forgive there sins. Peter told them to repent and be baptized for forgiveness of sins. God is the same.he doesn't change. Jesus didn't tell the rich young ruler to believe when he asked how to get to heaven. He said leave everything and follow me.

Listen if you truly believe something it will be evident in your life. That goes for anything you believe. Look at the Muslims. They have very strong beliefs. You can see it in there actions. The sad thing is they are believing in the wrong things and the wrong God. Repentance is to turn to God. Sin is unbelief. When we sin it shows we are not believing in what God says. That's why Peter says we are done with sin. That's what true repentance is. It's a attitude in your heart where you stop surrendering to sin but surrender to God. I'm done with following my heart /my desires/and am going to follow Jesus with all my heart regardless of what people think.

Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin. 2 As a result, they do not live the rest of their earthly lives for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God. 3 For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do-living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry. 4 They are surprised that you do not join them in their reckless, wild living, and they heap abuse on you. 5 But they will have to give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead
