I dont know why, but Cristina or Gina or even both should've been apart of the group. There was no reason for there only to be 6. No it just feels like there's a whole in the group, the chemistry seems off like there's something missing. Despite that, I hope they had a good debut.

i have to agree about the contestants that tied them being eliminated really did change the group’s dynamic. i must admit it is really weird seeing camila without cristina. everyone knows those two were besties. and gina was even ranked as most favorited by the other members. but i think it’ll just take some time. jyp honestly should’ve just debuted them as an 8 member group instead of 6. also, for a global girl group, to have their debut stage on kbs and not like an american show like good morning america or something is really odd. but i guess they’re trying to build their korean fanbase to ultimately have a stepping stone into the US. but its just so weird

I don't think Kendall has strong, stable vocals as JY Park makes it out to be (it's a bit shaky), but she's not the worst singer. Fans hating on Kendall need to chill out though. I think Kendall's strong suit is definitely her stage presence with powerful, eye-catching facial expressions for sure! I believe it could have been all 8 girls though (especially seeing how much Christina improved and how talented our girl Gina is!)

I personally think the group feels like hollow. Like there is something missing. I felt like Christina and Gina would have added another charisma to the group. But it is what it is now.The group is already formed. I hope the others who were not selected will shine on the path they will take.

I just wish melissa was there because of how soulful she is with her lyrics and how open she was about her trials. It would've been interesting to have that in kpop.

they might work with a younger demographic. the music sounds like something i'd hear on radio disney or something. i don't see myself like being a hardcore fan or anything, but it'll be cool to watch them grow as they get older and more experienced.

I like the final line up, the contestants are all different and I haven’t seen a group just like that before. I think they all have great stage presence which makes them fun to watch, the vocals are pretty good too… Wouldn’t say that they’re lacking so much in that department that it would bother the American audience. They all seem very humble and hardworking 🙂 What’s interesting is that they will be managed by Division 3 of JYP (which also manages Twice and JYP) so there’s great prospect there. Overall, I’m here for how unique this group is and excited to hear what their debut single will sound like, looks like they’re going for the youthful and fresh concept.

I don't mind the final lineup, to be honest I didn't have any favorite, but I agree that Cristina & Gina should've debuted as well. But it's totally useless & mean to insult Kendall just because she was taken & not the other two girls. She worked just as much & in the end it's JYP who made de decision. Now.. Personally, I don't really like the name Vcha, it's boring & hard to pronounced.. Plus to be honest I feel like the group won't be that popular.. I think if we take a step back and look at the bigger picture of this group and american culture, it’s so clear that they’re not going to be successful. I hope I’m wrong, but the only other girl groups that have been able to hold their own in the american market are TLC, destiny’s child, the spice girls, and fifth harmony. now ask if vcha is on the same level as these other groups… absolutely not

On your last video, I commented something about how I was worried the group was going to be seen as Kidz-Bop and yeah…I’m even more worried now based on the Y.O.Universe song and MV. It kind of looks like something you’d see on Disney Channel and just felt juvenile. Although maybe that’s good considering how young the members are. I think JYPE seriously doesn’t understand the American market, especially considering how the English releases from his groups have gone. I’m also kind of frustrated with how Vcha has been treated compared to Blackswan. Blackswan has gotten so much sh*t from international fans calling them Koreaboos but the second a big3 company debuts a “global group” with mostly light skin people, it’s fine? Obviously I don’t want the girls to get hate but it feels like a double standard.

I don't really have a problem with the lineup, except for Kaylee being so young and Kendall being so...boring. (I really think Gina's personality was better shown in the show.) I totally agree that JYPE is trying to make the group something that the general US market just won't be into. I do think he's trying to make them more for young teens. Which is fine, but there's really not a big market for that as most young teens just listen to already established popular artists.

Listen I understand why Yuna got eliminated, and I LOVE Yuna, but she had the same issue over and over again, was not improving as quickly, and honestly towards the end it seemed like she lost her spark and drive and was getting really discouraged. I want to be fully transparent, I did not start off disliking Kendall and do not want to dislike her because one she is a kid and two it is not her fault that JYP is like in love with her or something. But it is so unfair how strict he is being towards the other girls when Kendall keeps not singing in her full voice and she sounds quite nasally. Now this wouldn't be an issue if he was holding all the girls to the same level and critiquing her the same way. But to call her voice perfect when she was unstable or her voice was cracking is really disrespectful to the other girls who worked just as hard and sorry, but did better than her. And its also unfair to Kendall because he's not giving her the critique to improve and she's going to develop this bad habit and the fans will notice and it is just setting her up for failure! I did not see much growth from Kendall overall in the same way I did Yuna, in which they kept repeating the same mistakes and were at about the same level of dancing and singing from the beginning towards the end of the show. The only difference was that Kendall got a lot of praise while Yuna got a lot of criticism, which you can tell impacted both girls differently and ultimately led to the outcomes. At the beginning, I understood what he meant about Gina being somewhat robotic but I really truly believe she overcame that towards the end and that's why I'm in shock she did not make it. Gina was so much fun to watch on stage and she is honestly more talented than Kendall, so the reasoning simply does not make sense. How do you get better when Gina was already starting really high and improved in everything that was asked of her. Cristina was also extremely talented and fun to watch! So my question is, if it's about trajectory should people who are already really talented not bother joining? For example, Camila is already so talented with her voice that there isn't much to improve so in that logic she shouldn't have been chosen because the trajectory for growth isn’t as high as say Yuna’s. I'm not saying I think Camila shouldn't have been chosen but I'm just saying that their reasoning is faulty and they can't justify it because it came down to favoritism and they have always favored Kendall. I hope she has improved a lot and she doesn't get too much hate but JYP all the hate Kendall is receiving is because of you and your inability to be fair and treat all the girls equally. Sorry just had to rant and say my piece lol.

jype immediately realized back then that it was a mistake to let the audience choose the members after Momo got eliminated in Sixteen, so it's good that they themselves chose the members this time. Also the fact that Kendall was chosen number 1 by the literal trainers of the company, it should be a no-brainer that she would be included in the final line-up.

A2K seems really gimmicky. I don't see them making it in America or Korea. I'm all for it though. Whatever happens, the girls are having fun and will get to tell their grandchildren about the time they were in a Kpop group. American girls can go home anytime, and probably will. I'm also hoping they form some friendships in the JYPE cafeteria (itzy), and tell them how good artists have it in the US.

Cristina, Yuna and Gina had the most entertaining personalities off stage. Cristina was so supportive and a big foodie which I love. You can tell Gina was really funny. I think those two would have created good content for Vlives, variety shows, behind the scenes, vlogs, interviews etc. Honestly Yuna wasn’t the best dancer but her stage presence was really good. She has a lively energy that’s really attractive and interesting. I also think she has the best visuals. She may not have been the best singer/dancer but she had her own natural charms that would have attracted a lot of fans. I keep saying this over and over again but I really think they should have made two separate groups instead of eliminating the girls. Girl crush concept: Camilla, Gina, Cristina and Lexus. They all looked their best doing SKZ choreo that would be more fitting for a girl crush concept. Group 2 would have youthful cutesy concept: Kaylee, Yuna, Kendall, KG and Savanna. Now Savanna can easily fit the girl crush concept also. I picked her for group 2 cause she a rapper and group 2 is lacking one. Group 1 has Cristina and Camilla who are already good at rapping. To be completely fair I will also add in Melissa with group 1 and Mischa for group 2. Melissa has that soulful voice and her age makes her a better fit for the girl crush group. While Mischa’s age is more appropriate for the cutesy vibe of group 2. I like all the girls and I wish they all could have debuted.

I get its about effort and whatnot, but it is a shot in the foot to say it since it makes the narrative become (What did X do that Y didn't?) Do I like the lineup? sure, my faves got in, Y.O.U.-niverse is a banger, and I love Go Getter. Could the lineup be better? uh, YEAH, let all of them get in. I just hope this goes the route of Sixteen where even the runner ups get their chance in the Spotlight in a few years (Was seriously banking on Kaylee being alike to Natty 🤷)

I love this lineup, as a Savanna, Camila and Lexus supporter since the beginning I am happy, but, Cristina should've debuted. The way JYP snubbed her so many times when critiquing her, omitting all the improvement she's had over the course of the show. As for the group chemistry, i think it'll come with a bit of time, you can see when they're training that they get along and laugh a lot, i truly think we will get to see them be like that. I am so proud of all the contestants, and their journey! So happy for the debut team aswell, congratulations on their first music show stage as well!!! Sidenote : wtf is that name, jyp.........

I’m so tired of the unnecessary hate Kendall is receiving. Honestly, I feel all of the girls equally worked hard. I support Kendall and she deserves that spot like anyone else. Lastly, Gina was meant to be a soloist and her new song that came out is so good! She will thrive and please continue to support her on this path.

I think the lineup is okay in terms of skill level, but it is clear that not all the members have a strong bond. I would have prefered that they keep Cristina and Gina mainly because they bring a lot of energy to the group and it would seem less awkward when the girls are interacting. Also, I feel like the group could have had a much better concept had kaylee not debuted. Because she is only 12, the company cannot have the group do more mature concepts without recieving backlash for sexualizing someone that young. Therefore they went with a school/best friends(??) concept that is not trendy or popular in the media right now. Had the group lineup been decided my the viewers vote I think it would have been way different. For example, kaylee has a strong korean fandom mainly because she is the only korean member, however a lot of international a2k fans refuse to stan her because she is so young. I also think that yuna would have not been eliminated because she had such a large fandom. Throughout the show it was clear that JYP had favorites. The main example of this are Kendall and KG. Sure both of the girls are talented, but I don't think either of them are prepared enough to debut. KG lacks dancing skills but she has strong vocals, however being a kpop idol requires a lot of dancing and she will only weaken the group. Kendall has great stage presence but her dancing is messy and her vocals are not as good as JYP praises her for several times in the show. Overall, the lineup isn't horrible but I don't think they have a high chance of being successful.

I loved christina's personality the most and she has such great stage presence. PLUS like you said, she was part of the chemistry of the group. The energy in the group feels super empty. Gina, although more reserved, had that fun bright energy as well that is now missing.

Personally, the only problem that I have is the name. It may not be that bad to some people but I just can’t understand why would he put them that name when his previous gg’s such as wonder girls, twice, itzy and nmixx are all names that sound way better than “VCHA” if he had actually thought abt this has his most “ambitious” project then he would have had put more thought into the name, especially if it’s a group meant for a global audience. Not to mentioned it sounds like a slur is Brazilian Portuguese and like an insect in Spanish. By the way, spanish speaking audiences are already making a meme out of the name because “VCHA” sounds like bicha, similar to “bichota” which is a slang word for bisexual woman or just something u say when u feel empowered 😭

As a long term Japanese idol fan (wasuta AKB48 idolmaster sakura etc) I’ve been DESPERATE for an American girl group it’s always been my dream for more cutesy innocent girl music with the dancing and singing and charm to boot! They may struggle to capture American fans based on their current content. XG is blowing up in the US for their amazing skills and music that resonates with Americans. They are also mature without being sexy or girly. JPY will need to significantly improve VCHA's song quality if the company hopes to capture enough fans to generate publicity and profit.

I agree with people saying that JYP targetted this group towards a very young fandom of like 14+ imo. Like imagine, people of 15 or 16+ are obviously gonna be less interested bc they will feel too old for some kids bop concept and Kaylee is too young for them BUT imagine if you're 8yo child seeing this group?? Just like we all crushed on Selena Gomez or Disney channel popstars when we were kids. So this might actually work if he targets the same audience as Nickelodeon shows. I think KNEZ are more willing to see the group if the songs were in Korean / more kpop like. KNEZ do enjoy groups like BLACKSWAN as long as they respecting the culture. They dont seem to enjoy XG but they do have their fans so it's more of if they like any of the members if anything which i doubt.

The lineup would be awful if the viewers were given the option to vote, because we already know yuna be 1st although she’s the weakest link in terms of talent and skills! Lastly, I think jyp has plans for gina and that’s why she didn’t make it and I think Cristina’s voice was the main reason why she didn’t make it! to be completely honest I love this group a lot, thats mostly because I am a young Canadian non Korean that would love to be a kpop idol, a lot like this group, they have inspired me to work hard and maybe one day be able to join one, of course its a big dream that only a select few get to experience, but this group has not only brought me inspiration (I hope) but other people too, I love this group so much and there all so talented, I dont think any of them shouldn't've have debuted (that are in the group) I am glad that JYP made this group

The name reminds me of the Vor'Cha and VGer, but I've been re-watching a bit of Star Trek lately. The group definitely feels like a number of individuals and less of a cohesive on-stage force, gotta agree with you on that. They probably should have spent a few months training together with some vacation/travel experiences so they could build more comradery.

the lineup is not bad. the only thing im worried about is kaylee. shes extremely talented and worthy but she is barely in middle school and she was already very stressed out during the auditions. i feel like the age gaps will also make their bond even more awkward than it already is. and altho i rooted for gina and wished for her to debut, im still amazed by how much hardwork all of these members put in.

I feel conflicted because I like all the girls and I wish Kendall happiness and success so I'll support her, but I'm gutted about my girl Cristina not getting in... she sang so well in the final mission too, WAY better than Kendall. Kendall legitimately made me cringe w her vocals. I cried a lot when Yuna went home but if I'm being honest her appeal is only her personality and cute qualities. She can do moves but has no sense of beat or rhythm and didn't fix that problem after all the training time. And she's a weak singer. Btw, fifth harmony's youngest members were age 15. The oldest was 19 and the other 2 were 16. There's a big difference between 12 or 13 year olds and 15 year olds. But whatever age they shouldn't be in the music industry.

Here’s my thought: Just because something isn't done a certain way doesn't mean we shouldn't try! I have my issues with kpop, but there are aspects I love too. I love that the VCHA group is diverse yet connected by one common factor “KPOP!”. People often think success means being recognized in the U.S., but if the kpop industry starts prioritizing that, they may lose touch with their culture. This sometimes leads to polarizing opinions when idols change their image to please the western audience. Regarding VCHA, they aren't perfect, but that's okay. They only had one year of practice, which is much less than most kpop idols. With continued practice and improvement, they have great potential to succeed. Personally, I believe Gina is a better performer than Kendall, but I understand why JYP chose her. She has a Kpop aura and is expressive. I want to give a big shoutout to JYP for giving the girls this opportunity. I am genuinely happy and proud of them, and they deserve all the spotlight.

Honestly I love vcha, and I think they will be just fine. In the comments you see foreigner comments filling the comment section as well as viewers from the us as well as fancams, and things not even correlated to JYPS channel. Vcha is a group with very untrained artist who have insane talent, and unlike the trained the kpop artist we know today we get to see them in live time grow as performers, friends, idols. Watching the show you can see who has a bond that being kaylee, and lexu's sister like bond, or Christina, ginas, and camilas bond. These girls are young, but theyll grow just like every other kpop group. Right now they have a typical JYP girl group concept, but Y.O.Universe was there Pre debut song so we have to wait, and see what vibe theyre going for right now. JYP made the worlds best girl groups so have faith that he does know what he is doing lmao.

Jay why pee better realize that VCHA is a group centered towards a WESTERN audience. Their group name sounds too weird for a global group in general, they could've done something like ILLUMINATE instead, that would be much more appealing instead of something complicated like VCHA (if this group blows up, the name is definitely gonna get criticized by the general public and is already gaining loads of criticism from viewers of A2K and knetz for the weird group name). Another thing is that promoting the group on korean music shows may be a good way to gather kpop fans but when they actually full on debut, they should also start promoting on well known American TV shows that the general American public watches on daily basis in order to gain more recognition. They came to Korea to debut but they should promote in the US too, remember this is a collab with Republic Records to make an American Kpop group. Also, this group will most likely be centered towards teenagers so I suggest do a concept that teenagers nowadays like (ex. Teen pop songs that can be sped up on Tiktok and be a massive hit like how Cupid did). And if only they debuted all 8, the group would have more potential. I feel that Cristina and Gina has a vibe that will do well in the western market (plus they are the extroverts of the team so there could've been more fun and dyanmic chemistry between the members). I love the final line up even though it was emotional with each elimination because the girls bonded making it so sad to say goodbye. Kaylee is young but she's one of the most talented in my opinion. Her spot is well deserved. I really don't like the name Vcha that much though. And I'm concerned if JYP will be able to give them good music.

It's not the first time that JYPE chose 'less skilled' contestants. During Sixteen, Minyoung was arguably the best singer of the trainees, but she still didn't get through. During Nizi Project, we have Yuna who was the longest trainee, but Ayaka was chosen instead. But look where both groups are now. Twice being the best selling Kpop girl group, and Niziu being one of the top groups in Japan. So let's just say , JYPE knows what they are doing to reach this decision.

I think the real problem is the music. The pre-release wasn’t bad, but it can only cater to kpop fans. American teenagers will never tune in for cute Twice-like music, and the only following Vcha is ever gonna have at thas point is of kpop fans, which completely defies the concept of a “global girl group”. And before anyone comes in with the “they’re too young!” excuse, just think of new jeans. They make good music, heavily inspired by western music styles, with themes and sounds that teenagers can relate to and enjoy. Still, I wish them to be successfull

My ideal line up would've been so different. All in all I agree this was confusing on who this was for and if this would've been a kpop group or just an American group inspired by the kpop formula. But we've all seen how in the UK kaachi ended. Not enough people cared and similar now I don't see enough people care for this final group either. JYP was so poor at selecting members and honestly we didn't even see enough auditions to know what we even missed out on. Either way I don't like the debut song either. I'll be fully supporting Gina's song instead.
