my daughter was in a terribly relationship with a guy and his family never acknowledge the trauma brought into our lives because of what he did to her. I can't figure it out. My daughter is happy to let the children by him be a part of their life. I am all for it also but I get so bugged that they look at us like the bad guys. I have already forgiven them in my heart but until they actually start understanding, that forgiveness needs to be addressed, it's just formalities for now and that is sad for the children. We could all progress and enjoy each other so much more if they would just acknowledge and talk about what happened. I think that is so important. This situation for Jason is crazy and not to sound too flippant but the apple definitely didn't fall far from Brandy's family tree. I get why she has no sense of remorse or regret.

If you can mu*rder two kids with 81 stabs you have enough energy to do it to yourself. Lots of people claim they tried to commit s*icide or considered doing it after m*rdering someone. I still feel bad for this one time, back when my son was a baby & fell asleep on my lap just before my sister brought me some microwaved leftover ravioli... He was a few mos old, was prone to gassy fussy spells. And he finally got comfortable enough to doze off on that sticky, hot day - you know as a mom, you gotta do whatever it takes to help your baby during their baby problems. Sometimes if you move them too soon when that sleep was hard to find in the first place, they wake up more miserable than before. So after a long day with my crabby little doll face boy, I was really hungry. I realized, all I consumed in this day was coffee & I decided to eat while he was snoozing. And a couple bites into this meal, a hot ravioli slid off my fork & landed on his bare little tummy 😭 and he started bawling immediately. It wasn't quite molten so he didn't actually have a burn on his skin, thank God, but it was still a very hot meal (also he was diagnosed with sensory processing disorder at age 2, and temperature is part of it 😢 so after learning this, his intense reaction makes so much sense. This hurt him more than it could have hurt my nephews). I still remember this like it was yesterday, and he's 6 now. Watching his face change from that restful, peaceful expression & turn straight into pain and stress. The sharpness of those cries, when your baby feels a kind of pain they've never been through. I felt like the most selfish jerk & dumb slob ever. I just hurt my baby, and it was for nothing. I felt horrible & couldn't forgive myself even though it was an accident, because of how stupid and unnecessary that injury was. Just to know that I caused him injury because of my own carelessness- well, if any of my friends came to me this upset over dropping ravioli on their baby, I would have assured them it doesn't make them a bad mom or a dumb person. But... This is MY baby, & I induced this new, really bad pain for him after a long day of pain. If that's what it feels like for a mother to accidentally drop a hot ravioli on their sleeping child, HOW the hell could a mother even begin to carry out a plan like this horrific crime I just heard? Like, on any child period - but especially the very same sweet, innocent children she carried and brought here?! I would chew my own leg off my body and drag the bleeding stump to get to him & try to save his life. And I legit can't imagine any life for myself in this world, if he's been ripped away from life by anything. It's terrifying, but also important to remember that these kind of people really are among us 😓

Imagine what she was doing to those kids before this while Jason was at work, if her first instinct when he asked her to go to her mothers for a little while for space she immediately went to emotionally and mentally manipulating and lying to her children to get her way. What was she capable of doing while no one was looking? Also why are her family mad at Jason? their daughter is the one who killed them not Jason, her own mother told her to call the cops and was the first one on the scene to see exactly what her daughter did.

I usually don’t cry watching true crime, but when I heard that Tyler went willingly to Charlie’s room to just have a sleepover- to then be stabbed by his own mother just hurt. I remember myself, my brother, and generally many kids get so excited for sleepovers, and just walking into your sisters room to just die thinking you were going to have a fun sleepover with your sister just sucks. Especially knowing Charlie woke up not knowing her own brother was being stabbed. Just breaks my heart.

As a momma his last words to his babies broke me. I have two kids, 16 and 10 - I tell them I love them 3 different ways (Spanish for the oldest and French for the youngest) and that's our special thing. They will literally call me before they go to sleep just to "say good night" if they're staying at a friends house. We both know why they're actually calling though. I truly can't imagine anything happening to my kids dude. It breaks my heart thinking about a parent hurting their own kids. That's an unreal kind of evil.

i definitely think that the question of if he wanted to sleep in the basement or living room had a deeper meaning. I'm only up to the reddit post part, but as a divorced parent I'm already practically shaking with rage. The way I see it is like this: when you have kids, you're basically making contracts with yourself, the other parent and the universe that you will *always* prioritize your kids, no matter what, period. It doesn't matter if the other parent turns out to be the biggest a-hole in the history of ever and you're feeling unimaginably hurt, scared, enraged, hopeless, whatever- you still need to out the wellbeing of your kids first. Always. You can be hurt, angry, scared, etc. on your own time, but when it comes to your kids, you MUST show up and be the parent they deserve when they need you. Now, to be clear, I'm very far from perfect; when my ex left me and walked away from our marriage, I was absolutely emotionally crushed, as well as indescribably hurt and angry. I'd basically never felt so helpless, betrayed and hopeless in all my life, and I couldn't see any light at the end of the tunnel. But my kids still needed parents, so my ex and I made the commitment to put our kids best interests first, regardless how we were feeling about each other...and honestly? I think it's the most adult, responsible and possibly most important decision I'd ever made. My kids were never exposed to the drama and conflict, and even now (they're still fairly young) they have no idea how negatively their parents feel about each other. We don't talk badly about each other in front of our kids, ever, and we always show up smiling and civil at school events, teacher conferences, recitals, school plays and so on. I like to think that we'll show up smiling and civil at our kids weddings someday. We're actually going through separate major medical crises & deaths on both my ex's side of the family and mine, and even though it's really hard, my ex and I are both putting our kids' wellbeing above our own grief and hurt...there's always time for us to hurt later, but our kids need us NOW. Before anyone I know has kids, I always tell them that if they're not prepared to put their kids' best interests first, then they probably aren't ready to have kids. Parenting is one of the greatest joys of my life, and I always say that my kids are my greatest achievements and gifts to the world. But like it or not, parenting requires a level of adulting that you can't back out of: it's taking 100% FULL responsibility for the life of a helpless human and how that human experiences life and growing up. As a parent, you always need to be willing to love your kids more than you hate your ex.

The way he talks about always taking advantage of special moments with your kids because you never know what the future will bring is SO close to home for me!! Also, the part about never leaving a loved one without saying you love them: I have an old friend who once got into a huge fight with her mom, and before her mom drove away she screamed "I hate you!" at her mom. Her mom was killed by a drunk driver shortly after that, and now my friend has to live the rest of her life knowing that the last words her mom heard from her were "I hate you." I can't even imagine, and hope I never have to. But I guess my point is that as rare as it is, stuff like that actually does happen IRL, and so we should all try to remember that.

Correction: Lizzie Borden was acquited so according to a jury she did not murder her stepmom and her father. A lot of her ancestors,Myself included, believe that it was actually Emma,Lizzie's sister,or the Borden maid,Bridgette, that murdered Andrew and Abbie Borden. I love your videos so I just wanted to point that out. A better comparison might be Karla Faye Tucker. She and her boyfriend murdered people witha ballpeen hammer and a pickaxe.

May I ask… I hope I’m not being rude… why it was considered self-defense? As that can be a hard defense to make especially dependent on the stage, especially with a weapon that isn’t a gun. I’m sorry for your loss, no matter what happened. That’s inevitably painful & confusing & we don’t want to accept the culpability of the person we love. My uncle murdered my grandparents with whom I was very close, as they lived on 20 minutes away from my childhood home, the act occurring in their home. He never showed signs of mental illness before but it turned out he was in severe psychosis, totally detached from reality, seeing & talking to non-entities. He realized what he’d done, tried to end his own life, & called the police to report what he’d done- on the recorded call he was still talking to entities not there. À young rookie cop (23 y/o) got afraid & shot him dead even though was unarmed & was surrendering while bleeding out himself. He hadn’t realized what he was doing was wrong at the time he did it- he thought he was saving them & then could revive them via something gruesome he’d read about in a book, something I won’t repeat. I have grown up hating that officer - though I think it was better that he didn’t survive - it I still blamed the officer. I still love him & forgive him too & I wonder if I’m just in denial or at least to some degree. But it’s much better than being angry at & hating him. It’s very confusing when it’s loved ones k in my case it was life’s ones on both sides. It ruined my childhood & destroyed my family for over a decade, still affecting us immensely of course, even though it’s been 18 years. I suggest you go into therapy ASAP & stay away from TC. I turned to TC, as did my sisters, as a trauma response, trying to figure out what could have happened, what exactly was going on in his psyche. I shouldn’t even be watching it now as it’s ultimately NOT HELPFUL. It’s almost a way of reliving the trauma so I recommend you turn off the TC videos & go talk to a professional as waiting to deal with trauma makes it SO MUCH WORSE LATER, even more difficult to deal with & heal from (even though there’s no cure, there is indeed healing). If you have family around you who is supportive, then lean on them. I didn’t have that. I had a family suffering all at once but separately, like we were all on the same ocean but in different lifeboats, attempting not to drown. My father became absolutely absent, my mother abusive & out of her mind, even taking me to the crime scene / the house while she cleaned it as she herself NEVER should have done. However, her 11 y/o shouldn’t have been her support system. Very scarring. Anyway I’m babbling about myself: I’m sorry: I know you are going through a great deal right now: so not to block the grieving process, I again recommend you see a therapist ASAP, use the support system you have, talk about it, & get OFF true crime content please!!!! It’s re-traumatizing yourself; you’re doing it unconsciously. I need to click off too & shut up. Take care of yourself. You’re not alone in your pain & confusion (I imagine) as well as your anger & resentment. Be gentle to yourself, more than anything else. Be patient with yourself. Be kind to yourself. Validate your feelings but don’t let yourself LIVE in them. Healing is not inconsiderate to the person you’ve lost; he’d want you to heal & take care of yourself. Remind yourself that so you don’t feel guilty if you are ever laughing or feeling better momentarily or consistently more over time. I felt like that me betraying my family - as well as others I’ve lost tragically. But no, they wouldn’t want that. Hold onto happy memories & the happiness you experience from now on. Life is too short, too full of suffering already. All we can do is wade through the pain to take reprieve in the instances of happiness so we don’t drown. Last time, get off TC content or you might end up like me “trauma dumping” on a YT comment under a TC video during which you babble incessantly so that no one will read it anyway. Then feel embarrassed about it later but not remember precisely where you posted it. Story of my CPTSD life on the internet with TC content.

How awful to know even someone like that.

Could you imagine having to arrest someone who just did this?? It would take every fiber of my being to arrest her and not beat her to death.

this case is so sad. jason truly loved his children & had nothing but their best interests at heart, and they were ripped away from him. this man deserved soooo much better. i'm glad he got to move on and start a new family.

i’m gonna be honest, i consume a lot of true crime media to the point where i’m almost unfazed by most of the things being told. i got through to watching most of the video fine bc i already knew the outcome but whenever she showed the picture of the grave, i broke down bc reality hit me. these were literally just children, my brother’s favorite pokémon is also rowlett, so seeing that pokémon on a tombstone just made me cry for a good ten minutes. rip tyler and charlie, you didn’t deserve any of this and may jason continue to live his life with high hopes and happiness.

What an awesome story teller you are! Some of these channels can be hella annoying but I love your calm, clear non animated way of telling it. It’s much more respectful to the victims and families ❤️
