@@haewonized I agree. For an innocent person, being interrogated must be traumatic. Uttering that phrase seems like a normal thought process to me. Also, for two juries to be hung means there is no proof beyond a doubt. It doesn’t seem right. Something is not adding up.

Plus that initial silence once it was brought up *PARAPHRASING* : "hey we got a shit ton of evidence against you, you wanna explain that?" She went dead silent. Then began panicking likely bc she realized she got caught.

@@Makberries Nope. Read Janine's site. The evidence against William is *astronomical* he used that same colchicine as fertilizer on his plants. He lied on the stand. He went awol from the hospital for hours while Mary was dying. Read the site. It was not Katie 100%

You didn’t mention that Adam had previously been similarly poisoned by Conely or that Conely’s DNA had been found INSIDE the bottle of Colchicine. She definitely did it. Nobody else could have.

I really dont understand how the search history + the dna would not be enough to convict her. She even admitted to purchasing the prepaid cards to buy the colchine. The timing of the poisoning and the letter arriving too consistent with Adam rejecting her then dumping her, it is like c'mon...what more do you need

I just came across this case and have seen other people commenting about this, but have yet to come across a video about the case mentioning it. I don’t normally go to the trouble of researching deep enough to seek out the actual documentation from the trials. But if that information about Adam also getting suspiciously ill and Katie giving him pills came out with evidence during trial, then I would feel confident convicting her if I was on the jury. Based on what I’m seeing in the videos, either the husband, Adam or Katie could have done it, and I wouldn’t be able to convict due to reasonable doubt. Anyway, if this came out in the trials, I don’t know how Mary’s sisters could still believe Katie is innocent

Okay, Bill had access to Katy’s work laptop. But how about her home computer? Her alarming search history? The fact that she knew about the type of drug that was used to kill Mary? The way she acts during the interrogation? Idk, I feel like this is just the end result of a toxic relationship and Katy did it. I however don’t believe that Katy knew that the dosage would be lethal.

She definitely meant to kill her. She’s an insecure little girl who didn’t get her way when Adam finally opened his eyes to her toxicity and she saw an opportunity to hurt him and send him to jail but it backfired on her and that’s why she broke down in the interrogation because she realized she’s not as smart as she though she was

I hate how she tried staying away from pharmaceuticals and then she ended up dying by pharmaceuticals:( So sad. She seemed like a great lady. I believe it was Katie. The only time I question "false confessions" is if they've been questioned over 20 hours.

Forced confessions are like that one confession with the poor guy who have a bullet to the head and was bleeding out and eventually died when he could've been saved cause the police didn't feel like investigating anyone else. This doesn't feel like that at all how do you go from "I know who did it and have evidence y'all" to "My life is over".

@@kenyaaragon3944 Exactly right. Detectives work out from those closest to the victim. Once William and Adam were eliminated as suspects, while establishing motive was initially difficult, Katie was the next closest to Mary with opportunity. Katie's digital activity then left a trail of breadcrumbs right back to her and her electronic devices.

I cannot even imagine my Mum dying suddenly and unexpectedly and then for the police to investigate it as a murder with the murder weapon being found in my car- like how absolutely wack and terrifying, how on Earth are you meant to explain that and prove your innocence?? Thank you for covering this. Mary sounds like she was a wonderful person, I hope her family have managed to heal and find peace.

@@uci1111 The way she delivers the story is respectful and she makes it about the victim, not the criminals. For some people the make up is a welcome distraction if the topic becomes too graphic or intense, so it serves a purpose in a tasteful way.

My dad worked 60 hours a week his whole life to provide for our family. One year before retirement, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and was not able to have the retirement that he and my mom planned for 50 years. There is a certain heartbreak I have for those who work hard but aren't able to enjoy the fruits of their labor.

I think if someone comes into the hospital suddenly extremely ill and the doctors can't figure out what it is, they should immediately do a toxicology test on them. There have been way too many cases of people being poisoned and then it's only discovered after their death from toxicology reports. If they start doing them while the person is still alive, even if the situation seems innocent, it could quite literally save their life. But anyway, this case is so sad and I hope wherever Mary's soul is now that it's somewhere as bright and beautiful as she was. Thank you for sharing her story with us.

Katie had to have done it or had some part in it. Katie had the incriminating search history and she logged into Adam’s email on her home computer and work computer to order the murder weapon. Just the facts themselves outside of her personality incriminates her as an accomplice at best. On a side note, Janine (or how ever it’s spelt) strikes me as a Karen with a grudge against her sister’s husband.

I live around where this poor lady was killed. I found this video and told my mom about and she said one of her friends was apart of the jury. I asked the lady about it and she said Katie was acting extremely immature throughout the trial and she was laughing. Some sick people out in the world.

I work on the computer from home, and I'm all alone in the house 90% of the day. Listening to your videos helps me stay focused, and makes me feel a lot less lonely. Saying "my life is over" in front of an officer is the kind of thing an unstable, obsessive ex with murderous intent would say when they get caught. The fact that she couldn't explicitly admit to it during and after the interrogation, it still is very much leaning in her direction.

How would Katie have known where the bottle was, and why would Adam confess that to her? Especially if the supposed motive was bc of her going to the police and his mother urging her to do so. I doubt he would have felt comfortable enough to confide in Katie after that and resume a relationship, and if he killed his mother over that why not Katie?

Eating at a restaraunt after her life has been put on hold for at least months just for a jury to not be able to find her guilty knowing she’s going to have to do it all over again is enough to convince you she’s guilty? We also don’t know the nature of her violations. House arrest doesn’t mean you can literally never leave your home. There could have been very petty violations that cops exaggerated

It's the fact that she didn't even react when the interrogators told her they found the evidence and that they know it's her. She looked like a child being caught. She didn't even try to defend herself. She just stared.She just was saying her life was over. Thinking only about her life. Like that itself shows she's guilty

I definitely think that Katie meant to kill Mary and it was premeditated. She was working at the same chiropractic medicine office as Mary and she would know how much of a dose to give in order for an overdose to happen because she would have the same expertise as Mary. I feel like it's not a coincidence that she got sick right after lunch and almost anyone had access to the lunch room. The relationship between Adam and Katie was on and off again and the time when Adam broke it off finally, I think she snapped. I think she killed her ex-boyfriend’s mom as both a way to have Adam come crawling back to her and getting back together but also as a way to get back at Adam for rejecting her knowing how close he was with his mom. It just seems pretty excessive to kill her boyfriend’s mom as revenge though but I still think she was responsible for her death and the right person was caught. Also, you can't forget that she was pretty quiet once she was confronted by the police of the evidence against her. She also cried and said her life was over. At that moment, she knew she was caught and she wasn't going home that night. Katie was one of the closest people to Mary and hung out with her the most, so she's the only one I see murdering her and the person I see having a motive. Towards the end of the video, I also saw Katie having a different motive. Maybe she wasn't doing too well financially as she hoped and she was jealous of Mary so killing her had nothing to do with revenge on her ex-boyfriend but she was killed out of jealousy. It could've gone down that way too.

I am pregnant and my pregnancy is high risk due to chronic illnesses I have but I’ve also had complications since the beginning. This has put me out of work more frequently because my job takes a lot out of me. Right now, I have the flu & I had to call out of work because we have to make sure it doesn’t get bad enough to cause more complications. So, watching your videos has helped me get through the day and your voice/story telling technique is calming despite the stories being told. I’ve had so much anxiety and I’m constantly worried about losing my baby girl so keeping my stress levels down has been pretty hard. Thank you for keeping me company & helping to keep me relatively calm. ❤

It’s so sad that not just one but THREE of her loved ones were deemed possibly capable of hurting her. Especially when she only loved all 3 of the accused. This makes me so upset that someone so good was potentially surrounded by people who were willing to betray her

This case is insane!!!! Who even thinks of doing something like this? I can’t imagine ever wanting to hurt and ex let alone their mom! And poison is such a pathetic move. She can’t face the person she’s hurting. Then she tried to frame the son! She took the life of an innocent woman who lived a beautiful life and was so kind to Katie!!!! This reminds me of gone girl. Shady, spineless, self centered. This is so horrific!
