I have people in my extended family who are social workers and therapists, and they are some of the most unhinged, manipulative people I have ever met 😂

I was adopted at birth in 1974 & raised by a single, gay, Quaker, psychologist who decided we should own a circus when I was 8. When his issues of neglect & abuse began to really affect me, rather than take any responsibility for his own actions, he decided I was inherently broken & since most mental health people are told they shouldn't try to treat their own family, he started taking me to different people to be seen. If they were more supportive of me, he would try a new one. If they were more supportive of him, I would act worse to make them refuse to treat me. And because he worked in mental health, most of the people we knew were also in mental health, but I was seeing their personal lives instead of their professional lives. So, watching all of these dysfunctional adults, saying that I was the problem, made me think that all of mental health is stupid, because if it worked, why were they all so screwed up? It wasn't until much later in life that I realized they were flawed because they are human, & that you can be a mess in your own life but still be good at helping others. But even now, I will meet a professional & learn about their lives & I struggle to understand why they seem so screwed up. And I often wonder if they are doing more damage than good.

That poor kid. I 1000% blame the “therapist”, she abused both a family connection and the incredibly powerful position of being the one treating a mentally ill teen. What a monster. That kid in his messed up state was vulnerable and off balance and sick, and no doubt thought he was saving her when no one else could.

This is such an unethical abuse of power. What a sick person. She Should have immediately had her license taken away. Who knows what damage she could have done to anyone else. She shouldn't have been " treating" her cousin in the first place. That was the first clue right there that she didn't know the meaning of boundaries. Any parent who kills the other parent does not care about their kids more than themselves. Scary that she was a practicing therapist!

I was adopted & raised by a psychologist, surrounded by mental health professionals, & in more recent years, in sobriety, therapy, medications, etc, I have seen some mental health professionals that blur the boundaries of the care person & person in need of care, & its one of the worst things you can do to someone. A good example is a young woman I know, who has had a terrible relationship with her mom, & like many, she has a strong desire for a mother figure. She gets a new therapist, who starts blurring the lines, having her over for holidays, saying the young woman can call her mom, etc, & then when she changed her mind, she just derailed the young woman, creating a whole new cycle of love & loss.

I believe it. All about controlling the weaker and being looked at as a superior or role model. at the bare minimum, she should’ve had her license taken away for practicing on her cousin. that’s a HUGE conflict of interest and ethics violation, especially since they were living together. also, to anyone watching thinking that she was able to do this because she was a psychiatrist so she can “manipulate” people effectively, just know that no ethical mental health practitioner is using their knowledge in this way, and that there are tons of rules and ethics codes that are studied before you’re able to practice that prevent things like this happening. her job fed into the power dynamic but if jake were just living with her and she weren’t a psychiatrist, she likely still could’ve convinced him to do this. psychiatrists and therapists who struggle with mental illness can still practice without breaking boundaries as they’re taught how to compartmentalize and leave their bias and personal issues at the door. she wasn’t a good psychiatrist and shouldn’t have been practicing, let alone on her own family.

I sing in a my own recording studio so understand what causes the pops sounds and how to eliminate them, the worst letter for popping sounds is 'P'......thank you :)........ps. I noticed when you do your ads the sound is different and there are no popping sounds, it sounds like you are in a studio.

This is so incredibly sad for jake as a person who also got groomed and taken advantage of at 18 especially emotionally manipulated thought i was in love and my reputation ruined real badly was when i was away from the person for only a week in i got back to my senses and stopped contact entirely glad that person in jail (for something else) is apparently sending me messages from ither people telling me he wants to talk and see me again go back again, and also find me. Which i am actually scared as he also knows my address and he is being released in augest this year so yeah its awful to be used like this.

Talkin about how fancy the home Depot in Chelsea New York is. I live in New York not far from Chelsea and I live in Hudson Valley but Chelsea is a very ritzy area.

I feel so bad for Michael and weirdly enough for Jake, it’s very clear that Pamela was a huge manipulator and with Jake already having issues she took full advantage of him and his vulnerability. Jake was WILLING to kill and not even hide his identity says a lot that he was majorly manipulated and used.

Yeah, that Home Depot is really good. I studied in Manhattan, so there was one day that my professor needed some thing for a lab project and I remember I searched up the Home Depot in as soon as I walked in and I’m like am I in the right place is this Home Depot because it doesn’t feel like it’s luxurious Home Depot.. it’s a Home Depot that doesn’t look like a Home Depot from outside or inside but they have the best stuff there.. a little expensive too.. when you said that, I remember it..

I'm pretty sure Pamela asked for torture so murder seemed like a reasonable compromise.
