This has been a problem for many Sennheiser headphones. I own the HD 565 Ovation and it's doing the same thing: Sound always cutting out on the right earcup, until I give it a light tap or two. If that doesn't work I have to unplug the cable from the earcup, spray some compressed air into it and then put it back in. That usually fixes it for a couple of days.

I've been talking to Sylvia on your Ebay Store, asking if the old damping kit was going to be in stock again, now I now why it isn't, so thanks for that. I have an old set and a new set of HD25s, I was hoping to dampen them both but I was too late *shakes fist at God* I really enjoy this channel, thanks for opening up your world to us.

I so hope sennheisser see this video as you are absolutely correct. i have the made in romania ones and the springs are giving poor contact prob due to me having dreads before with wax in. This video has really helped me understand how they work and i have taken them apart and im just about to put the springs back in now that i have evened out the spring. I hope it works. Great vid

After having a set of HD25SP's for almost 13 years decided to upgrade to a set of HD25's had them just over 5 years and the connection problem has been driving me insane for the last 9 months!! I have a set with the removable springs and have attempted the fix a few times - seems to improve things but the fault comes back. And its not like I gig them!!! Saying that. I love the sound of them and will probably get a new pair!!

I had to change the cables after 2 years. After changing, the cable socket on the left can seemed to be faulty, as the sound was just coming and going if i moved the cable or unplugged and replugged. I think they are a 2020 pair, made in Romania. I tried cleaning the sockets with a toothpick and at the moment the sound seems to be constant. I thought the actual driver might be on its way out, but who knows. Anyway they are still great headphones.

Just received my new pair Hd25 happy!! Noticed that the cable that going in the can when the can is at the higher positions about 4 clips and further up tiil the last smaller heads position the clip of the cable touching the headbaand an eventually move that poit with glue that you mentioned,,big disapointent,,have to be very careful !! Hope you check by yourshelf.. thanks,,,same fo senhaiser ,have the rp dh 1200 dj for 15 yeaz no prob ,,thesee i doubt,,,this problem is a cross all mobels,pushing the clips most of the time and eventually getting loose

Mine had this problem, send it back to the shop and they got it repaired, but I acctually don´t know if they changed the driver or did something else.

This exact thing happened to me today. Something fell on a pair of phones, the ear cushion fell off and the driver appears to be dead... It's a shame, only 10 months old. I know from experience that those earphones survived a lot more battering in the past

Using the same pair since 2008, just ordered some cheap pads and headband pads from eBay to replace the ones currently falling apart. Hoping these cheap Chinese copies are okay. The only issue I have is what you're talking about in this video, the only thing I've ever done to temporarily resolve the lack of sound or sometimes unbalanced sound is to give the connectors a little wiggle and they're fine unless they're accidentally touched again.

Mine are finally dying. Bought in 1998 and used daily- I have never experienced issues until today. The kid has idly chewed through the cable.

I've had my first pair of HD25 since 2007 (replaced 1 capsule last year thanks to the wire problem) but bought a blue earpad pair last November from Sennheiser store as a backup because the price was too good, is there a way to tell which model you have without opening them? Wondering if I have the early 2020 pair or the latest you talk about in this video with the glue. I guess they are the latest revision as the Blue edition are quite recent as with the yellow earpad edition. Thanks for the video.

this happened to me :X I have tried everything possible to fix them, but I'm sure this is just a manufacturing defect. The springs and solder connections all appear to work fine, I just think that my headphones bent in a bad way and now this wire is broken. you can heat the glue and remove it carefully with a soldering iron

Hello mate, i have a pair from the newer ones with glue on the driver, suddenly the left driver started to cut out the sound, removing and plugin again the cable didn't helped much so i opened the driver and one of the little cables soldered to the spring broke in half :( is there any chance to fix this properly? like desolder that cable, replace it and solder to the spring again ? or is just better to look for a new driver or a new pair? i love them just im afraid to buy a new pair and this happening again if they are not fixable probably im going for a beyerdinamic 770 pro

The funny thing,on my pair of 25´s atm,they play normal when I plugg them in,but few seconds later only left side plays,and this happens everytime I unplugg and replugg them!!!If it was the cable or the connection they wouldnt play on the right side at all,right?And this happens whn I plugg them into any other device!!!

actually they changed the drivers construction in 2017 - the last irish version. looks like they decided just to make more money selling more drivers separetely as the spares. welcome to the mass market era!

Weird... You say that Pre-2020 ones weren't made in Romania. But I checked mine which I bought in late 2019, and they say Made in Romania. That's mad.
