That's what I was thinking. We don't give animals credit enough imho. The miniature pomeranian I rescued as a very young puppy who wasn't even pottie trained, stuck by my side for the 16 days until I gave birth, and only then would hang out with my mother, (I actually got it for _her_ ). A few years later, my mother was having a diabetic seizure at 7:30a.m., while my mother was still sleeping, yet here came Tinker barking at me, then running back to my mom's room. Then she came back out to bark some more because I hadn't responded the 1st time...but I went to check the 2nd time and called 911 as my mother's blood sugar was 12! If Tinker hadn't come and gotten me, my mother would have died that day without a doubt and no one taught her that. She just knew she needed to get help & she did. R.I.P. Tinker, our furry guardian angel~2011

@william hunter That's an amazing family story! My mom and I moved around alot when I was young, cross country several times so we couldn't keep my first dog I got as a puppy. We actually gave her to my aunt. I loved that dog so much that even though I couldn't keep her (she never had pups), I did pass on her name Tinker, to several other cats and 1 dog, the Tinker we had for her lifetime. She was too small to breed safely even though that was the agreement when I gifted her to my mother, we mutually agreed not to risk her life. I retired her name with her because of that fact and there could never be another like her. I wish she would have been big enough to breed.😣 We now have blue heeler/rottweiler/pitbull mixes. Mom, dad, and 4 pups that are grown now, so perhaps we'll start our "Old Joe" line now 😊💜
