I'm just sad we didn't go back to northrend helping our 'past self' out. back in wrath there was a quest with nozdormu where we had to help him and our 'future self' comes to help out. This would have been the perfect moment to add this quest in.

Maybe Nozdormu changes into Moruzond in smaller steps like this where he gradually changes his mind, rather than a singular major event.

Nozdormu does become Murozond, and it will happen. He allowed Chromie to think they stopped it. Murozond is still on the horizon.

I have a feeling that this getting closer to the infinites will make him more likely to turn. I don’t necessarily think we changed the timeline. In the dawn of the infinite’s dungeon, they tried to corrupt Nozdormu at the beginning even before he became an aspect, which we know couldn’t possibly be the way he turns. So they had to stop it because it wasn’t the right time. Now that they’re letting the infinites in and are willing to accept changing the timeline, I feel like that will lead him to fall. He will willingly accept his role when the time comes.

This quest was a nicer conclusion to the whole Bronze/Infinite story in Dragonflight than what we got in 10.1.5, but I still feel as a whole it was an anticlimactic ending to things. This quest itself is great though.

I’d love a plot twist like chromie being that welp that got saved, by the sacrifice of her mother, thus being the niece to eternus, and why she didn’t go with you in the questline, making her compassion towards the infinite understandable.

Nozdormu becoming Murozond has always been a constant in the "true" timeline, the Titan's timeline, we now see that that timeline is not what is best for us but for the titan's plan with Azeroth, maybe he does not have to become Murozond.

I'm telling you now this is all part of him becoming Murozond. It's not a single event that forcibly transforms him, it's his own decision through smaller events such as this that lead him down the infinite path. It would be interesting to know if Eternus also knows this and is taking a different approach to Deios, or if it's accidental.

Chromie sitting with Eternus was perfect. This whole quest is awesome.

I really like the choice of music in this quest. It's the post- Cataclysm Tanaris theme. It sounds somber, but also hopeful which works for Eternus' story. Tanaris is also where the "Ruins of Uldum" are located. Before Cataclysm, the ruins were hidden behind a locked door, and people speculated it would be a future dungeon or raid, like the Uldaman and Ulduar. But in Cata, the "Ruins of Uldum" turned out to be just a tomb, and Uldum proper became an entire zone.

Isn't the whole point of this that Nozdormu will eventually warm to the infinites and turn into Murozond at a much later date.

Imagine if the void have been playing the longest game ever. Events like Deathwing, the infinites, all setting things up for Iridikron (maybe the "Our Earth, our power" guy from the whispers) to obtain Galakrond essence uncontested, with the dragon soul gone, to set something like him upon Azeroth once more.

i have a feeling we have diverged into a new timeline, one that has become the timeline. one in which the dragons realize the titans aren't the good guys and are going to focus on guarding azeroth against everyone, void, light, demon, or titan.

Every major wow KZfaqr that I've seen has said something along the lines of we still need to deal with the infinites, but I took the dawn of the infinites dungeon as us solving murozond. He's always been my favorite aspect and I want him to be able to escape his fate. So maybe I'm being a little bias, but until he says that he is still faded to change, I'm treating it like we stopped it.

I thought this questline was a good way to show the viewpoint of most of the Infinites. Hope that Eternus shows up more in the future.

Honestly thought that when the aspects lost their powers in Cata they would drop the time travel stuff since they clearly could not keep it making sense, instead they keep doubling down on it and it doesn't get better. It still just feels like a loop we go through every other expansion and nothing really changes in it's story.

Going back to this video post Blizzcon - Nozdurmo tried to tell Eternus you can't change things, because there are consequences. Now we know that this is going to lead to the next 3 expansions - and perhaps Nozdurmo will actually choose to change later.

Enternus said it herself.. the other Infinites need convincing, what better way than to hear it from the Aspect of Infinites himself, Murozond.

Nozdormu was always pretty uninterested in attempts to prevent his fate, perhaps because he knew it could completely undermine his one mission as the Bronze aspect. Chromie is pretty convincing when she's determined though. Poor Chromie, down the line when Blizz make this deviation a cause of a big bad it'll all be on her.

We also have to remember that Blizz said that Free Will is something only we Mortals have, and beings of the Six Cosmic Forces are bound by the nature of the force they are tied to. So even the Titans have limited free will, they can only think as far as the Force of Order has "programmed" into them. As far as they are aware, there is only one true timeline, which is obviously the one where things goes according to the "machine" they have created. But we mortals are able to defy the close-minded views of the Forces, we can change the set-in-stone path that has been laid before us. The problem is, the Dragons too, have been "programmed" by the Titans to follow their close-minded view despite being "mortals" themselves. So I guess the Dragons are starting to realize that while the Titans mean no harm, they are simply doing what they are told to by the Force of Order, their way is not the one true way.

Honestly, this questline might be the spark of what ends up being Murozond. True, he's been all like "can't change the timeline. Not allowed, and fuck you for asking!" (I'm paraphrasing and dramatizing here) But now, he's gotten the first step towards Murozond saying: "You know what, some things, maybe we can change it. That way, we can keep more friends and get basically the same outcome. I see this part of the Infinite thought process as valid" Whether they go for a slippery slope or a very slow burn, you can kinda see the ideas evolve: I need to keep the timeline pure and nothing's allowed to change from the grand design -> Somethings are allowed to change, as long as they are small and insignificant -> Maybe bigger changes are alright -> Maybe I can stop my own death -> My own death will not happen! I will be infinite! -> I am the master of the timeways, they bow down to ME! Now, obviously, this is not the only way of doing it, but it does kinda show one way the current timeline could cause Nozdormu to become Murozond. Afterall, Nozdormu has now gotten friendly with an infinite dragon, and if you look at all the most successfull attempts at either radicalizing or de-radicalizing any human, it almost always starts with someone becoming friendly, then creating a sense of belonging, and in the long run, the person has changed

the "true" timeline, might not be the "only valid one" but rather the one that has the best ending in the opinion of the titans. Just as we saw in the new mega dungeon dawn of the infinite, where you have to choose between proto-drake Moruzond OR letting Iridikon escape with Galakron essences. Here you have to choose between saving Moraidormi or the whelp and egg (or even having EVERYONE die), We might not know if proto drake Moruzond was the good choice, but surely saving the whelp was the good choice to having both Moraidormi and the whelp and the eggs dies

'...no matter what you do, you can't change this moment." Reminds me of the remake of the movie The Time Machine. Dr Hartdegen invented his time machine in order to go back in time and prevent his girlfriend's death. But no matter how many times he tried to save her, she would die in a different way. When he goes forward in time beyond the apocalypse, the boss of the baddies explains to him he can't use the time machine stop her from dying because her death inspired him to build the time machine in the first place.

I think Nozdormu finding ONE point where he agrees with the Infinites, is his first step towards becoming Moruzond. One small step at a time.

Its possible that by trying to sway the infinites, Nozdormu is himself swayed and because Murozond, also, i love the time travel concept of some events being impossible to change because they were necessary for the time travel to occur, like Eternus's sister dying having to be something that needs to happen, or else shed never travel back in time to stop it

Final boss fight of Dragonflight: phase 1 us losing to Iridikron, phase 2 going back to stop ourselves from stopping the rise of Murozond so that we stop Iridikron from powering up, phase 3 we replay phase 1 but win because he was never able to power up!

IMO its just us leaving the titan timeline, his demise shown was the one which would happen by folllowing the titans will But now that we slowly but surely step a little bit away from the titans and as it seems we will maybe / probably continue to do so in the future, Nozdormu making peace with the infinite wasnt in the "titan timeline", and stepping away just means we get a little bit more free in our choices

Was the Murozond in the new dungeon made from Proto Drake Nozdormu? Or was that Dragon Nozdormu? Did he become Muruzond "early"?

I think Nozdormu will willingly become Murozond for the greater good instead of having it forced upon him. And for whatever reason, by him willingly choosing to become Murozond, he isn't actually corrupted and because of timey wimey stuff, changes his fate.

This is basically WOWs version of a cannon event, no matter what you do someone will die in that instance.

if they can pause time, why not bring the sister to the present, live out their life, and bring them back on their death bed along with some illusion magic to make sure the corpse looks right with time pausing they extract and insert them from the moment instantly

I was kinda hoping for something more interesting from this. Like yeah, there's the fluff talk about compassion at the end, but what we *see* and *do* is basically "our world is the best of all possible worlds, don't change the status quo". We see that we can't change the timeline and if we could, the outcome would always be worse. So basically every cautionary tale time travel story ever. Buuut maybe I shouldn't expect that kind of stories from WoW. Maybe.

So if by this new narrative we should change the timeline because "compassion" can we now just go back in time and like change everything wrong that ever happened? :D If we no longer care about that hole hour of demise and everything can t we just do wtvr? Am i missing something here?

The true timeline at this era looks like a big loop da loop, where the first trip along we get the Murozond/infinite version but the true timeline includes rhe need to trip back and stop that also after which it is straight once more and we ge to here where Murozond is no longer a thing.

at some point i suspect the infinite flight we saw prior will be found to have only been acting like that because we saw them acting like that and failing to act that way may break the cause and effect that makes them all edgy and blue-tinted

Murozond will happen. He was however not meant to become Murozond yet. as such the infinites tried to return their God into existence. after his death.

I feel like the aspects and their story basically has no connection to Cataclysm and previous Titans, Old Gods and overall the previous world building, and this type of writing really hurts the lore and story and I genuinely think its part of why people don't care anymore, its like every new Writer treats WoW Lore like they're the master and the main writer and they ignore everything that came before and make their own thing to the point that it doesn't even feel like World of Warcraft anymore, maybe its just me but with every expansion its felt less and less like WoW, and I've read the books, its not because I'm not familiar with it.

Dude you’re slow you forgot that a inverted paradox in which case that the timeline has infinite dragon flight and at the same time doesn’t require murozond to exist.

I really dislike this quest. Just like with Vyranoth suddenly turning her back on her ideals over a single event, it makes no sense for Eternus to give up an entire way of life just because of one very particular example. You cannot reconcile the Infinites' point of view with the Titans'; they both stand for totally different things. Having them magically work things out and come to an agreement is lazy and nonsensical.

Nozdormu never say he don't want to be Murozond anymore The main plot of Dragonflight is if the Titan actually the good guy, that we must 100% trust. Nozdormu being shown his moment of his demise might not be set in stone after all, becase it is the titan that show him that moment as part of his power. But, even without the titan telling us what to do, it's pretty obvious that some event must not be changed for an obvious reason. Like what being told in this questline. Nozdormu still believe that he will became Murozond, but would not stop others (chromie) from trying to stop that from happening. In the new Mega Dungeon, Dawn of the Infinite. The Infinite dragonflight tried to turn Nozdormu into Murozond **WAAAAY** ahead the timeline. They were trying to turn the pre-titan empowered Nozdormu into Murozond. Which we stopped at the cost of Iridrikon getting the artifact thingy. Chromie did NOT change anything, infact it's the opposite. It was the first time the Infinite Dragonflight able to go back so far into the past, because of the thing inside the the Bronze Temple.

part of what I dislike about the new story telling is how they try to be so meaningful and deep and emotional and I say Try because it barely ever lands since they're just trying so desperately and I feel like such a douchebag and I'm no writer but I feel like you shouldn't write like this, creativity is just something that comes to you and you write it down, you don't force yourself to write the most emotional and deep dialogue ever, and Warcraft always had a simple story and the events and what the characters went through just naturally happened, like the George RR Martin 'Gardener' style of writing, the characters had certain traits and their personality dictated what they'd do in the situations they were in, the writers weren't desperately trying, they just let it flow and most of it was and interesting, it felt natural and simple

Wow has so much talking and "understanding" others pov to resolve issues 🤣🤣🤣wtf. The number of cinematics with characters standing around and talking without action is so lame. If it wasnt for a bit od edge from fyrrak it would be a total snoozefest

WoW has lost any sort of edge it used to have. Having Nozdormu just flat out be like "oh I guess our charge isn't that important and some thing should be changed" is just way too hello kitty island adventure for me. they obviously have that in game so they have excuse to go back and remove old lore that they now think is "problematic". On top of that if you just have the bronze do what ever they want when they want they change from dutiful protects into a group of deus ex machinas
