More about Ty Landrum
Ty Landrum is the director of theYoga Workshop in Boulder, Colorado. He teaches Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga as he learns it from his teachers, Mary Taylor and Richard Freeman. With a PhD in Philosophy, Ty has a special touch for explaining the theory of yoga with color and creativity. His passion as a teacher is to share the brilliance of yoga with anyone who wants to learn. In this special course, we explore that experience through the potent practice of traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa. The course will consist of daily morning Mysore practices, followed by instruction in Pranayama (according to the methods of the Krishnamacharya lineage), and a series of afternoon workshops designed to illumine our theme. Some workshops will explore practical aspects of asana, bandha, mudra, and meditation, while others will be pure philosophy. This course is designed to accommodate practitioners of all kinds. No special proficiency is expected, and people with injuries, health challenges, and other limitations are totally welcome to participate. The only intelligent approach to Ashtanga is to modify and adapt the practice to our current circumstance, so that we can practice just as we are.

I really enjoyed your story and found myself just naturally slipping into an extended, almost meditative state as you spoke. I will listen to more of your videos. I think some form of expansion happened during this also… I was cleaning my semi-automatic pistol as I listened and was suddenly discovering new ways to find carbon on the parts and clean them more effectively. After going through the same motions for 30+ years it was fascinating to find new ways to do this. You made if more fun! Thank you!

Thank you, wonderful. The Shiva-Sati story gave me in my yoga-meditation practice a powerful forward momentum. Have you seen the TV film from 2012-2013, the actress Mouni Roy fabulously playing the role of Sati?

just to clarify...Goddess Devi is pronounced -(Dae'Vee). Deva -( pronounced Dae'Va), means God , Masculine Devi- ( pronounced Dae'Ve) is the feminine of Deva. Devi is the Generic term simply meaning Goddess. it's a term used alone for the Mother Goddess, but also can be used for any femenine Diety...(Dee-ah-deez)
