when they said exclusive parts from apex i thought of Hyper Armor sets from MHGU. For those who don't know, one would fight special versions of monsters, more difficult, that yielded a "hyper" part. Then with that you were able to make a hyper armor set with more skills sometimes different skills and more defense.

Guys, the palico riding the palamute is a eureka moment. I can see this happening. You can play prowler mode with hunters in multiplayer on genU right? Its perfect for rise multiplayer because you can bring 1 pet. Man, hopefully this will happen

1:36:00 The primary advantage of the bloat multiplier is that it more accurately shows how much of your damage is physical compared to how much of your damage is elemental. Since elemental motion values are pretty much 1.00 across the board, but physical motion values are usually much lower (0.2-0.4 for medium-speed weapons), the unbloated attack values will make the physical attack stat look like a much bigger portion of your damage output than it actually is. The bloat multiplier for elemental attack is always 10×, compared to lower bloat multipliers for physical attack, which balance out the difference in motion values. In fact, if you look at a lot of blademaster weapons, the physical bloat multiplier for them is very close to 10 times the physical motion value of a "normal" attack from the weapon, just like how the elemental bloat multiplier of 10× is 10 times the elemental motion value of a "normal" attack, which is 1.00. Of course, this is before you account for things like sharpness, Critical Boost, Critical Element, and monster hit zones, but it still gives you a much better idea of just how important or unimportant the elemental portion of your weapon's damage is.

Experienced hunter with good basic would probably get turned off if difficulty bar gets lowered even more. Imho, there'll probably comes a time where MH would have more naked challenge/achievement (like pickle naked n afraid) just to unlock certain stuffs (baby tetsucabra deco, fugen facepaint or w/e). I really wonder how they gonna tackle this difficulties issue satisfying both new n old hunters

@Rurikhan you had a great idea with weapons counting toward set bonuses for said monster's armor. There are plenty of references in games and elsewhere that include weapons as part of an armor set, and i see no reason for it to be "weird bc its not armor" like gaijin said. Yeah the weapon is not armor, but it is an essential part of a hunter's equipment, right along with the armor, so it makes complete sense for certain specific weapons to count toward set bonuses.

When I recently restarted World on PC (since I only played on PS4 before) I actually went through making every LR set before progressing to HR. And I'm doing it again in HR, not because of completionism, but because I'm hella rusty and my goal in crafting everything is actually getting comfortable again with every monster. Nergi and Anji were behemoths on my first hunts, but by the time I had their stuff, they were puppies and it felt reaaaally good. Right now, I'm on Azure Rath, one of my most hated monsters and my bad temper on that thing means I have another motivator to get better. If your crossed fingers turn out true and we do get prowlers at some point, I'll be one happy camper, but I'll also have the same problem as I do now lol I completely botched my hunter skills because cats move so differently.

I agree that if weapon augments come back, it should be like a one and done finishing touch rather than basically the next tier of upgrades like it was in World. It should be a nice extra bonus for your efforts, not another level of minmaxing that pushes how much stronger you can make a weapon.

Arekkz's question was a little vague, this new universal elem def bonus for sets is still technically a 'set bonus', just not unique bonus' per set, but hard to say; we'll just have to wait and see on that one.

When you guys started talking about Prowler i went full auto on how there are so many things they can do, nodded at the fact that they should be able to use the wirebugs and ride a palamute, and went how there are so many ways to improve upon them I seriously cannot scream louder the many different things from improved motion values, different support “gauge” system, fixing and balancing Piercing and Big Rangs specifically to make melee actually as good as they are (by making Weapon Upgrade its version of those buffs) and much much much much much much MUCH more Seriously tho, Gaijin is like “i want 2 of each” here i am being like “i want 4 or even 5 of each, the amount of builds one could make is utter insanity if they just imported everything from GU and added upon it”

I have never seen or heard anyone talking about that a Palico is controlling the mecha-Tetranadon in the training area.

The power of monster hunter is why I'm happy crash 4 comes out 2 weeks before on switch. Gives me a chance to play crash 4 before I get into monster hunter rise.

What you talking about??? The pirate bearded maniac was the best supply for bird wyvern gems. He made farming them so easy. Even Rathian Spikes. That solved so many farming issues.

im fine with alot of skills on armor as long as it doesn't get to the same extent world/iceborne, with full ATK lvl7, Critical Eye lvl7, Agitator lvl5, Tenderizer lvl5, Critcal boost lvl5 etc, the khezu armor seems to have only thunder attack as a offensive skill which im happy about, i want element to mean a bit more

German localization isnt so bad. Translators often use some creative freedoms to put a specific blend of cute little things in there. I loved FF9s localization because they gave one of the theater gang members a thick bavarian dialect. It felt so funny to me when i was a kid... still appreciate it now. (Also text box lenght rarely ever was a problem. Its not much different from english im that sense, hard as it might be to believe)

There was a silkbind skill for the cat so... I mean its unlikely but wirebug prowlers would be so insane fun. I just hope they bring the prowler back. It just added so much more content and fun to this already amazing series. I mean the prowlers had styles in gu so why not give em wirebugs

I would love in a future episode for you to take some time and look at the effects of skills between Gen 3/4 and 5 and really consider what you're getting at each level. Hearing you talk about how amazing the Khezu armor is with it's smattering of skill points feels so much like the "MH:World skills bad" bandwagon without considering it's basically the same as wearing low-rank Khezu armor in 4U.

Fortify been since tri and onward. it just world made it too easy to get

i have to agree with elements needing a boost. Back in Tri and mh3u i LOVED crafting what was in my opinion a "best" of each element. i liked switching out each weapon to what it was weak to. Now that we see the numbers and see how messed up elemental damage calculation really is in World, it hasn't felt worth it even once. I will be happy to use elemental weapons that make a difference.

Canteen food buff doesn't provide elemental resistance anymore. That could be the reason why Capcom added elemental resistance in armor set bonus. It would be much harder to build resistance in Rise.

On the Palamute "skills". From they way I understand it they get 2 slots for "gear". Those are the extra things they can do. The scroll is just another thing you can equip instead of the long chain for example. They are shown as ninja scrolls because I guess they don't show the dog using an actual tool when using these skills. This has nothing to do with their weapons though. We also have seen the Arzuros Palamute weapon which was a club so impact weapons for Palamutes are confirmed.

I definitely want to try bouncing around more in Rise, especially since they're saying it'll cost less mats. But, it's so hard to stray away from my sweet baby IG
