This is true! I put that in my notes and forgot to put it in the video. I’ll hopefully find a way to fix that when I get home. Thank you for bringing this up.

I love how you explained this! I can't wait to see your video on the passive playstyle because that's normally what I fall into.

Lately my gameplay has been suffering and I was not sure how to address it until watching most of your videos, I kept getting blown up early on and developed a bad habit of staying too passive when impulsive didn't work and mistaking predictive for impulsive. I will certainly be working out a better game plan moving forth you videos are a massive help! Note: I hear people say "practice your fundamentals" "or watch your own replays" but to someone who more recently picked up fighting games and especially having sf6 being my first "Traditional" fighting game, all of that is in one ear out the other, frankly I don't know what I'm looking for and so far have not seen any one break down the absolute basics

Speaking as someone with generally passive tendencies, I think that while Zangief can absolutely work in the role, I see him and grapplers of his ilk in general more in the predictive category, as their win condition relies heavily on understanding an opponent's tendencies and exploiting them. Instead, I would say a character like Guile fits more in the category of the passive. Playing passive is a game of mental attrition, grinding patience with incredibly safe non-pressure that has the opponent swinging wildly just to advance the match. To this strategy, characters with good, safe pokes or relentless zoning like Guile are excellent, as the opponent is forced into action in risk of getting beaten by the clock or just the tedium of it all. On top of that, he's built on a small array of strong options, which a player not looking to do too much fancy shit is perfectly willing to play with. That's my thought on it, anyway.

And it’s a good assessment. Guile is a good character to put in giefs place. But the crux of it all is that every character fits every mold, rather they need to. The whole point isn’t to choose a play style and only do that one. Everyone needs to learn to play in all three play styles. To reiterate guile is a great character for passive focused players but even guile’s need to know when to turn up the heat and play impulsively or predictably. It’s important to know what all three play styles look not only for your character, but for you as a player as well! Thanks for watching!

@@YohDood I can certainly agree with that. I do tend to cycle through each of the playstyles during a match, starting with an impulsive slant to put the opponent at disadvantage, use said disadvantage to passively grind them down and while I'm doing both, I'm looking how they answer each style to play more predictably the longer the set goes for. I suppose in that sense, it is generally good to highlight how a character that leans one way can and will and must use those tools to play another way to adapt.

@@YohDood definitely passive. Mostly bc I don't know what to do 😅 I mean, I know some combos and the goal, but I feel like I don't know what to do in some situations. But sometimes I'm switching to impulsive to switch it up.

Impulsive for sure. I typically play passively and a good impulsive player can take over the match and overwhelm me before I can get my feet back on the ground.

your explanation is flawed sinced the predictive player can lose a round and beat both your offensive and defensive player. your really just making a cheap copy of mind, body, and heart without being a complete copy of that video

This is a cheap copy of Neutral.MP4 if anything man. (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qtCdobGTrJascas.htmlsi=DbDFgVLAqook2snX) My explanation isn’t flawed. All styles can win and lose to all other styles I said that in the video (4:54) I’m not the best player, I’m not the best creator. My channel is for newcomers not established FG players. I mean ultimately the rock paper and scissors can be whatever play style suits you. I choose rock to be impulsive mostly because of stigmas lol. Good ole rock, nothing beats that :) But you’re absolutely right. Nothing is more passive than a rock. Thanks for watching 😂
