It might be capable of giving you an everlasting burn with indescribable hellfire, but it's still a pokemon. And pokemon are generally friendly with only a few exceptions, even the most dangerous ones, even the ones that are a literal sentient pile of raw sewage. Never forget the multiple pokemon who can devour your soul, or the handful that specifically target human children to gobble up.

And a really good mailman at that. Then again I don't think most wild pokemon would really want to mess with a Houndoom.

This too is my favorite video, mainly because my favorite Pokemon is Houndoom.

Houndoom is my favourite pokemon (well, it's mega form but eh) and that video was an interesting lesson

Houndoom goes on a journey with Togepi in the Anime. It does indeed make sense. Does that make Togepi Hades? That poor apple tree. *ignores Team Rocket and Pinsir*.

Dog abusers deserve to suffer.

Pokémon are intelligent enough to understand commands they teach them and act accordingly and also have friendships with other Pokémon, etc. They are NOT just animals but a bit more advanced than that. What I'm trying to say is that probably, beings as complex as these would understand the impossibly harsh harm they're causing, and so still doing it WOULD qualify them for a lack of empathy over those they bite. Like imagine if YOU could inflict such pain over someone for doing something bad to you. Would you do it? Would what they did warrant such unending pain for their while entire life? Or would it signal you lack the empathy to care about them, just because they did something to you that probably wasn't deserving of SUCH retaliation?

Alternatively, it only bothers with the toxins when it really, REALLY hates someone. Like “you murdered my whole family” level of toxins. It’s a brutal Pokémon, but there’s no way to know for sure if it doesn’t care about the damage it does from these entries alone

@@spindash64 there are other entries that simply state that if it burns you, the pain will never go away (with no mention of anger being a factor). the ultra sun entry, meanwhile, talks about it using the same toxic flames when it is hunting. of course, if it isn't angry at your, feeling threatened by you, feeling hungry for you, etc. there is the question of why it is breathing fire at you in the first place... actually, with how many of the dex entries talk about it combining the flame with toxin to get the eternal pain effect, you'd think it should be fire/poison, rather than fire/dark

I'd say wild Houndoom classify as feral while trained ones(be by humans or another pokémon) will be highly intelligent So yeah, not all of them are "evil" but they are dangerous and can be raised to be able to be In case of Houndoom used by evil people, it says more about the person who purposelly choosed a extremely dangerous species to raise as an evil slave rather than the pokémon itself

People tend to conflate empathy with compassion. You can lack empathy and still care about people, that's compassion. A lot of evil people actually know how much they're hurting people, they just decide not to care.

You’re confusing the types of empathy; someone who has Autism like me for example, I have low “I know what you’re feeling right now” empathy but have compassion. Sociopaths on the other hand have that kind of empathy but no compassion. I think he means the latter, because both are classified as “empathy”

In three hits TO OTHER POKEMON, they shrug off bullets and rocket launchers and high energy lasers. The most effective gun to have ever actually been a threat to every pokemon you aim it at was a petrification ray that turns whatever you hit to stone. Yet another in the long line of "Sealed evil in a can" devices from a world where the entire biosphere is so rediculous that you need a "Sealed evil in a can" device just to ward off the local butterfree.

According to gamefreak/nintendo the only reason humans still exist in that world is because pokemon are making an active effort to not drive humanity to extinction. They know that humans are squishy and fragile, and they deliberately don't aim their attacks at the humans even in the case of wild pokemon getting into a battle. Well, most of the time ... exceptions occur, both on an individual basis and (in the case of say Gyrado or Primape) species-wide bloodlust, but the vast majority of pokemon want to BATTLE. And fighting a human just isn't a good fight for them, no experience to be gained from stomping on a helpless kitten.

Main issue is they are usually seen as tough and strong. So unfit owners kinda screw it up because they don't take care of it right

The biggest problem pitbulls have (according to the lady training my cousin's pitbull mix) is that many of them are in fact pretty strong and are also incredibly anxious dogs. They are very highly socially attached to their owners and can be so easily frightened they'll have what is essentially a panic attack where their strength makes them really destructive. Also, a lot of pitbulls and stereotypical city dog breeds are abused

I love Pitties. I've never owned one, but I grew up in a home that loved dogs but talked about how "there are some dangerous breeds!" I was always skeptical. My skepticism was confirmed when I got to know my first Pittie a friend of mine had, and he was a lovable dork of a hulk. Known lots of them since!

Mimikyu doesn't strike me as evil at all, the thing takes active measures to make sure no one will look at it and suffer the cognito-hazard that is gazing upon it's true form. If the thing wanted to go on a mass murder spree it'd just have to get naked and walk through town. But it doesn't. As a species they take great pains to cover themselves up and try their hardest to look cute and lovable because they just adore hanging out with humans. Drifloon and Hypno though? .... well ... I can sort of defend Hypno. On an individual basis. As I'm sure some of them aren't dangerous predators Maybe. Drifloon all need to be popped immediately, doesn't matter how friendly they act, because the very biology of their existence is evil.

@@mihyroiz_heatlair Yeah but those ones aren't really evil, neither by biological design nor intelligent choice, they are just ghost types and have a different perspective on what "Death" means for people. Gengar kills you not because killing is fun, but specifically because it wants a companion to travel around with and live humans can't go to all the dimensions it flits about in. It eats you because that's just a good way to keep you safe. Forever. Convince them that you aren't interested, or act really sad when it's eating you, and the Gengar will usually stop. In some cases it will even bring you back to life after it's already killed you, because it realizes you aren't having fun being dead. Frosslass meanwhile is sort of the same thing, it eats the souls of men (specifically boy souls) because it wants you to hang out with them. Forever. And it poses human corpses into ice sculptures because it thinks the bodies are just really pretty, and wants to show off this beautiful artwork they made. They legitimately aren't being mean about it and expect you to be impressed and praise them for it. The fact that it's horrifying and humans really don't like being eaten or looking at dead bodies needs to explained to them, and the Frosslass is probably confused about why you'd feel that way, but once you've successfully explained your perspective they do just accept it and try to accommodate your views on death. Apparently in the Alola region they can even get jobs as waitresses in restaurants, and are fully trusted to not eat the customers. Just uh, don't joke around about it with them. Because if you make it seem like you're interested in being a Frosslass snack, they aren't gonna say no when you offer them a lick. Also be rather careful interacting with either of them if you are already dead and meeting them as a ghost.

Houndoom are often utilized in war and law enforcement. There is also a very successful delivery service that utilizes Houndoom. Needless to say most wild pokemon don't want to mess with a Houndoom but they are often loyal and calm companions who rarely utilize the infinite pain flames.

Well, we dont do that about harmless mosquitoes(example: the "elephant mosquito" who just lives off nectar like bees and ocasionally eat other mosquitoes) In the case of Houndoom you'd just have to remove their poison-producing organ at birth, breed them to not produce it anymore or make them wear collars that filter these toxins If this was done they would be as dangerous as other dog pokémon such as Arcanine, unless of course if they are naturally prone to aggression There's also the possibility of simply giving a everstone to his pre evo to ensure they wouldnt evolve into that and afterwards their trainers would just gave to train them like Ash trains his Pikachu for the lack of the evolution option(or keep them as house pets like with Growlithe)

Uchihas have a natural affinity for katon (fire-type) and tends to be edgy assholes (dark-type?). They were also Konoha's policemen and police forces around the world often uses dogs. It checks out.

Amusingly they are capable of burning people with just normal fire, and the hellfire only comes out when they're angry enough. Unfortunately we don't actually get to see a distinction because the anime has never clearly shown us an angry Houndoom breathing hellfire.

@@gone2548 doesn't matter if it's provoked. Accidents are prone to happen and so long as you get burned, you suffer eternally. You can't tell me that when living with a Houndoom 24/7, it's nigh impossible to at least get accidentally burned.
