I don't have dolls like that but I do have teddies/stuffed toys that are mine/my dad's, and some of them are very special since my mum got them for me while she was still alive - I also have odd little things like my mum's last perfume bottle that still has a bit in. If someone got rid of any of them, I'd simply have to never ever see them again for fear of what I might do to them. It's such a gross overstepping of boundaries and extremely disrespectful. Getting rid of someone's belongings is bad enough; getting rid of someone's belongings with that much sentimental value is unforgivable.

Literally! Like when people get baby sitters of daycare for their children during work days, would you call that neglectful? No that's some A PLUS parenting right there! You're doing the opposite of neglecting them, you're making sure they have attunement and care and aren't bored silly. OP's cousin is delusional, and is being raised very poorly by some very, VERY cruel parents. Let's hope, since she is a minor, she will grow out of this someday if she is able to distance herself from her parents and get some therapy and make some friends that hold her accountable and tell her NO sometimes.

Yeah like op had trust in the cousin to help her take care of the cat and she broke that trust. If op had known the cousin would do that from the start she would've just gotten someone else to do it. She isn't a bad pet owner for needing a car sitter, it's a very normal practice as a pet owner, not at all anywhere close to "abuse".

The one with the kink, I'm in full agreement with Damien. There was a story on here with a man not being invited to his wife's sister's wedding because he would pee himself for a kink. A kink is fine, but don't involve other people who don't know, it's so demeaning for them, especially when they do find out.

Yeah. Is it bad that I kind of disagree to an extent, though? Like I kinda get where the wife is coming from in a way because some of the stuff that the girl appeared to be doing seems like it could possibly be seen as flirting, and it doesn’t seem like the husband is trying to understand how his wife might be feeling about that. He’s just determined that since he didn’t notice it, it doesn’t exist. I don’t know, that might just be going too far though.

My heart's breaking over the doll one. I collect plushies and love fixing them up. Maybe I'm projecting my intentions onto her but for me personally, finding something 'ugly' and 'unwanted' and giving it a second chance really does bring me joy. The fact she was passing them onto kids she cared for too? That woman sounds like an angel!! OP truly didnt deserve her and I hope she doesnt give up on her passion. @@pattycake520 if you think that is strange, then hey, I used to carry around boiled eggs, peel them and eat them. I think that stuff like this should be normalized. It's healthy and cheap, like why get unhealthy expensive stuff you otherwise wouldn't get just because you're outside and hungry and it's considered "normal". I actually got an idea from this - to freeze cucumber slices, put them in a tupperware-like box and eati them in the summer when it's hot; would be an awesome idea to stay hydrated and have a healthy snack

@@xLostInFirex I really think it's just dependent on where you're going. Taking a snack on a walk, or to the beach, or an amusement park... Anywhere you might not have easy access to food should be normal. But, hiding out in a room alone at someone else's house just so you can eat a whole cucumber is absolutely weird and no amount of explaining would convince me otherwise. Hiding it makes it something weird.

In the Midge story, I feel like OP shows she is a good cat owner simply by the fact that she requested help with Midge when she recognized that she was working a lot. She looked to family members who she thought she could trust; that is extremely responsible and thoughtful. I'm glad it all worked out.

I have 4 cats and work 40 hr weeks, my cats are fine at home during the weekdays I'm at work. OP is such a good cat owner and did more than I do. I honestly feel really bad for her because this situation is ridiculous. Edit: The cousin is a teenager so goes to school during the day. How does she have more time to take care of the cat than the OP. The parents probably work too, so the cat is going to be left alone no matter what. The cousin I guess had time to go over and cat sit because its summer vacation?

@@KrazyKatLady She is in college and has a job. Her hours are probably all over the fricken place and maybe she just had really long stretches in her week where she wouldn't be home where the cousin could check in. Either way it was an above and beyond level of care for a cat. As long as there is enough food out and a clean litter box, you can leave a cat for 12-24 hours without worry. It's one of the awesome parts of owning a cat, unlike a dog they don't need to completely dominate your schedule.

AND she was working so much in the first place in order to save money for her future and then when this all happened she put the cat first and spent her money on an attorney, which was no doubt expensive. She clearly loves that cat very very much.

And the fact he said it was “him getting rid of her flaw(?)” irks me 😭 The poor girl will never get back her stuff that has MIND YOU EMOTIONALLY VALUE to her. Personally even if you try your best to replace it, what I valued is what i value not a replica of it, it may help me cope with the lost of it but in no way will it replace the loss i feel. @@Athy-dm5tyHonestly, by the way he talks, it almost seems like he was just embarrassed of the dolls. Not even scared of them. He wanted them in the closet, so people wouldn't see them when they come visit and his breaking point was when a FRIEND saw them. Just really seems like he couldn't comprehend that someone has different interests than him and only saw it as a strange thing to keep in your house. Especially that he said "no one will take her seriously". It's just my theory, though.

(I'm so angry at these stories though because I've always defended my partners interests even when I didn't care for them. A friend would make fun or say something disparaging and I'd tell them to NOT be disrespectful about my partner. It's not that hard.)

I really appreciated Damien's insights about the pregnancy fetish icky feeling. I had a similar reaponse, but I've tried to really work on "not yucking anyones yum." When he took issue with making bystandards unwitting participants in your kink (im paraphrasing, if its wrong, correct me) that helped me to articulate a feeling Ive been having for a while. Its like my brainspace fits togerher that much better.

I’m surprised there aren’t many comments about this. Amanda is SO - RIGHT!! Also, as a brazilian woman (and the story being in Miami), I’m betting it was a Latina with a Latina style bikini. I’m sorry but we DONT OWN full butt covered bikinis!! Whenever we travel abroad, we do it in our own little bikinis. And a whole lot of times I feel judged and looked down on. My neighbor when I was a kid was a cucumber dealer. He grew them in his garden and his plants always produced more cucumbers than even the girl in the first story could eat before they would go bad. He would leave bundles of cucumbers on other neighbors’ front steps. He just loved to garden and watch the plants grow and kept all of us in cucumbers and yellow squash all summer.

The bikini girl story made me SO mad. As someone who felt super comfortable and pretty in crop shirts as a teenager, there was a time where my dad would make demeaning “jokes” about how I was dressed like a whore. That mindset being reciprocated by a WOMAN is infuriating. I think there's some value in considering someone's dressware when it comes to social judgement. Obviously, not to the extreme that's displayed in the post or your anecdote. Still, ignoring common (and fairly reasonable) social expectations for the sake of individualism invites criticism. Again, not to suggest wearing crop tops is wrong, nor a bikini that might be too revealing while in Miami. I just think that public spaces balance the values of those participating and it's fair to feel uncomfortable with someone else's choice of dress.

As someone who was born and raised in CA, the nitpicky shit that family can do to eachother just blows my mind. Most of the rest of my family lives in a middle American state, and they have petty squabbles all the time, where people are demanding that you take a side. The rest of my family lives in an eastern red state, and they don't have these nitpick-y squabbles. So I really think it comes down to both familial relationship strengths, and regions.. How anyone could believe this pet owner is in the wrong, even for taking their pet back from a house they have a key to, and threatening to get them arrested for that -- that just blows my mind. I don't think anyone in my family would even start this situation, and if a 15-year-old kicked it off, they'd just give it back and question all the things the 15-year-old is saying. Think about it for a second: this is a good pet owner. They want to make sure their pet is taken care of at all times, even when they're away. The 15-year-old takes care of it, falls in love with it, kidnaps it, then makes the pet-owner out to be the devil in order to try to justify keeping it + kidnapping it. Blood should be thicker than water. However in some places blood is only as thick as hydrogen, apparently. It's just sad.

There was a case in court near my city that was similar to the cats; a dog walker decided to just keep someones dog that she had been petsitting/dogwalking over the course of a few years, she took it and the owner ofc took her to court when she wouldnt give the dog back. Court ordered her to give the dog back, but she skipped town, never went to court and even after the cops caught her she wouldnt give the dog back and had hidden it with someone, they couldnt find the dudes dog for YEARS. Some people be crazy.

Damien is my favorite, because he is great at stopping to acknowledge the privileges and nuances the Smosh cast's perspectives might have...and then still gives both hilarious and smart takes. And he is usually the first one to point out the camouflaged red flags. And Amanda is both hilarious and smart. They're so good

Damien is great. Amanda, not so much. She has her opinions, like we all do but she is one of those who thinks everyone should agree with her opinion. I prefer the blonde girl (Courtney?)

Agreeeeed!! They are so extra professional. Two very seasoned yet youthful, professional educated, off the wall, out of left field, predictably unpredictable, emotionally genius, just two complete amazing performers and artists and have more to say but I’ll save for another time. Oh yea and Shayne Topp is cool or whatever lollllllll jk buddy same to you and then some for keeping smosh together so seemingly smoothly.

Seriously the first thing about kinks and fetishes is EVERYONE involved is consenting. If there’s even the smallest part of other people being involved it’s discussed and if you want an audience there’s clubs for that. Not your unsuspecting partner and their friends and family.

It's crazy how the only reason why she went to Reddit is because she thought that she'd have so many people backing her and calling her husband an asshole. She didn't actually go to Reddit to get seemingly unbiased and neutral opinions (heavy on the "seemingly" because Reddit). She wasn't actually trying to see if she was in the right or wrong or if her husband was in the right or wrong, she wanted to condemn her husband with possibly thousands of other people also condemning her husband. Considering it was _her_ idea to go on Reddit, she wanted a mob, but she didn't want a mob against her. She specifically wanted a mob against her husband. She sounds so insufferable.

@@GenderedMess @GenderedMess Shayne mentions this before with AITA and RelationshipAdvice stories. If the situation happened recently, and they decide to go to Reddit, there's a lack of good communication and that relationship is probably not going to do well. And partners/spouses getting advice/judgement on an argument from random Internet strangers (Reddit of all places), essentially letting hundreds to thousands of strangers, who I wouldn't doubt are probably still in high school, have a say in their marriage dynamics, is weird and I think the way the wife treats the husband along with her seemingly thinking Reddit is a good resource for navigating a marriage conflict as opposed to an actual therapist, like a marriage counselor, or even close friends who are married, is a sign this relationship isn't going to last, or will be miserable.

The bit in the dolls story that generally gets glossed over is that some of them were her mother's and some were her grandmother's, they're irreplaceable. Even if you get a "replacement" It's not the one her grandmother had as a child.

He didn't regret doing it until he saw her react in a way he didn't expect, who knows what would've happened if she ended up getting angry and yelling at him like he was thinking would happen. That guy fully thought he was both right and DOING HER A FAVOR while he watched the truck compact it and drive away, that's actual psycho behavior
