Hey everyone! welcome back to my channel :) this week I thought we could revisit the depths of tik tok and check out a very interesting community. It makes more sense if you understand Chinese. It wasn't mother with children, but a family that got broken up and it shows the struggle of a orphan children. The girl that is giving stuff to the guy- he tells her to give him stuff then blames her for being materialistic when she turns to accept the love from the guy who is rich, the arrows are labelled "injured", "disappointed". The guy gets crushed by the rocks that represent life struggles and the girl prefers to chose the guy with no struggles.... you get the idea. It's like Chinese tumblr in early 00'. I hope this helps at least a bit. Anyway, love your videos!

ok im back again with the third one (the one with the seesaw). that one is easier to translate. it was actually about a child dealing with the divorce (maybe theyre just cheating tho that part is vague) of her parents. the dad leaves with another woman and she calls out "爸爸" which translates to father. then the mom moves on with another man and she calls out "妈妈" which translates to mom. then shes left crying on an unbalanced, unstable seesaw

Vega It’s sad they made it so cringey because that’s a difficult situation and one that could use some attention because of how traumatic it is to suddenly be something holding your parents back from what they want. I went through it as a teen where neither parent really wanted to be saddled with the responsibility of me after their divorce. (I don’t speak to my father anymore because of abuse he put me through, but my mom and I reunited when I was 19 and I have been supporting her since her ex abandoned her. There are still deep scars there though...)

Pretty sure most of the ones about 1 girl and 2 guys has to do with how the gender discrepancy in China's population has made dating/marriage/building a family really difficult for men. There have been various articles about how men pretty much need to already have property lined up or pay a really large 'Bride Price' (basically the reverse of a dowery, paid by the groom's family) to marry a woman. You'd think this would be good for women but at the same time there's been signifigant role back in women's rights the last 20 years. Lot of complex factors involved. It's likely the accounts are annonmous because of all the censorship.

I think that cup head juice video was something like this The man with the juice is the authoritative force for these people. He dictates what gets put into these people’s minds, what forms them and allows them to grow up. They leave with the same view as him. The last one tried to rebel against it, even overtaking the authority, but in the process had to become the authority, repeating the cycle. I’m an art major so I’m very used to extrapolating meaning from abstract shit tho. I could be reading way too much into it.

For those Non-Chinese Speakers out there who want to know the context in the tik toks: 2:49 Life is pulling on you and if you stop you die 4:05 Something about beating mediocracy and living up to your dreams but the video was cut off 5:09 The dad cheats, the mom cheats, thus the kid is left alone to balance her own life 6:19 Dude keeps wanting her stuff but when she turns her back for someone else he gets sad lmao 8:23 He cheats on her so she builds a wall cuz she's insecure but he wants her back 9:23 Dude was stressed by life until this girl comes and helps him out of misery, basically, you won't have stress if you have a gf/bf *This was my self-interpretation, I might be wrong

it took me a bit of rereading my old notes from high school mandarin chinese, but i think the "head juice" one is about complacency. first off, the bottom text says "life". the first guy's head said "mediocre" (i think) and the first one that he shared his mediocrity with said "ideal" (most likely referring to something only existing in imagination). the next one was "innocence" or "naive". the one that fought back said "firm". once "firm" received the juice he became "brave" (as indicated by his writing) and started sharing his braveness with another head that reads "ideal". i think(?) the moral is that you achieve your "ideals" and stop being "naive" if you act "brave" and stop accepting "mediocracy" into your "life". dont quote me on this im just trying to make sense of it. also ive always been better at translating mandarin if i see the pīnyīn...

My pretty unhelpful attempt at some of the Chinese: 3:40 "shēng huó - 生活" just means "life"... 4:14 big cup head says "brave" 勇者， 4:40 small cup guy says "firm" 坚定 (other definitions are staunch/steady/strong?) at 5:15 and then 5:24 the writing that flashes up is 爸爸 and 妈妈 = dad and mum so ! Casey analysis confirmed 6:33 the arrows say 伤害 "hurt", 失望 "disappointed"，冷淡 "cold" ; 6:36 "想不到你这么物质" I THINK means "i can't think of you like this" 7:47 (the first bit my translator says "flash off" so Idk if its colloquial or just wrong.) The first rock says "life" again; The second rock is "career", 事业爱倩; the first part of the third rock is illegible to me, but i THINK the other parts say "car", 车， and then "house" 房子，next to the Yuan sign (¥ = $£€). 8:30 "woah, so beautiful" 8:42 "I really love you", and then over her head "no, don't worry too much (?). I can't believe in love" 9:23 we can see "life" again on the cliff. Then the...devil's (?) axe says "pressure" 压力。 12:48 fishing rod man says "still?" 还有吗，she says "not any more" 没有了， then when she has the rod I think she says "how do I do it" 怎么办（literally "how to do").he responds "take mine, take it" 把我的拿去吧。 13:28 the guy holding up the gold says "look" 看。。。other guy says "don't go" 别走。13:40 the angel says "together we will" and he replies "hm" (which in this case I think is affirmative, like 'mhm' in english)。13:50 The other girl comes back and says "wait" 等, then "I have always liked you" (?i think). He goes "hehe" 呵呵 and they leave. 14:02 the writing under the women says mum 妈妈 and wife 老婆。The mother says "hurry up" 赶紧上来吧。The wife points and says "that one is so beautiful" 那个好漂亮. The mother says "quickly come on now" 快上编吧。Wife says "I really like it" 我真的好喜欢啊。He says "save me" 救我， then "quickly save me" 快救我啊.The mother puts the pole in and says "mum will save you" 妈救你，then "what do I do?" 怎么办啊 14:49 "So happy, I still love you" 好开心，我还爱。I can't make out the first character he says .. something then "my." 14:54 he says to her "we only have these". I can't make out the first bit of her response but the second bit seems to say "we don't(didn't?) have much". I don't know what the HT is though. So after spending an hour on this i'm not sure how much the captions even add to the videos and also they might all be wrong so . :)

The one of the machine and the granny in the wheelchair was a circle of life metaphor! The old couple were sick and dying (old man moving slowly and coughing) and they’re giving away their home (a metaphor for their deaths). Inkbox most likely uses jagua gel if anyone's wondering. I did henna with it at my last job, and it can legit look like a real tattoo. We used it because it's more hypoallergenic than traditional henna. I loved it!
