yeah I used to have a roommate from Sydney and literally every time we met another person from Sydney, she either knew them or they shared multiple mutual friends. She said it was because Aus is so sparsely populated & the vast majority of the population are located in the major cities, so it results in this bizarre Everybody-Knows-Everybody situation.

As an Australian I am deeply disturbed by the fact that forgettable mark and stepson Jamie will be getting out of jail soon, once someone has committed such heinous crimes I don't think they should be let out in to society again as I feel like their chances of reoffending are high.

One of the worst side effects of the case (on top of the heinous stuff that happened already) is that the media labelled them “The Snowtown Moiders” (obviously spelt the normal way but don’t want to get flagged) even though they took place in the Suburb of Elizabeth. It literally destroyed this towns economy and it’s basically just a service station now because no one will go near it. The town and everyone there are really lovely but it’s crazy how it was destroyed because of the media’s labelling of the case

my understanding is... they weren't looking for Vanessa. Noone thought she was dead or even missing. That's why no-one searched her house. They were looking for another victim and noticed interesting ATM usage.

My Grandparents lived on Waterloo Corner. My uncle has Schizophrenia, he knew these guys and was invite to their place to chill out. Lucky he never went. The area was council housing so a lot of people to prey on. So glad my uncle never went.

I have no idea how Baileys videos started getting delivered to me. I wasn’t into true crime at the time and like never do my makeup, like NEVER. I live in Adelaide and I passed through from a weekend away and it was like a ghost town. Very eerily dead. So sad 😞 I actually live a 15-20 minute drive from where they lived. Creepy.

I live in Adelaide. My dads friend’s parents bought the house where some of the bodies were dismembered. My dad’s friend was renting the place from his parents. My dad went to the house and his friend showed him a hole in the driveway that is used for doing mechanic work on your car. He told me the blood was never cleaned up and his friend showed him it there. There was also a large tree trunk in the backyard used for chopping wood for a fireplace that still had blood on it

That’s what I was thinking too. If you’re feeding the dogs and letting them out to the bathroom you would think she would’ve noticed a smell. I mean even if you thought some food was going bad I would look. Idk I’d be suspicious of a rolled up carpet out of place there too. Having to step over it idk. Seems to be so oblivious.

I’m a South Aussie - local to this story. Ugh, the “Bodies in the Barrels” part of our sordid history. It’s still hangs over us here in South Australia. It was extremely gruesome. I was only just thinking last week I’m surprised this one hasn’t been covered yet - and BAM - here it is! 😂👌

That film gives me chills still! I think everyone in Australia knows about this case. It was so terrible they actually considered changing the name from Snowtown to Rosetown in the late 90s, but the townspeople actually voted against it

As a South Aussie I can't believe you have uploaded this story! It's exciting to have this story shared on your channel! I live 5mins from one of the houses that the murderers used to stay at and they tried to get my friends mum to go for a drive to snow town with them when she was in highschool, her gut instinct told her not to go! The bank is still in Snowtown but all sealed up.

How can you have never heard of this?? There’s even a movie called Snowtown.. The house where they found (a?) body sat empty for years before they finally knocked it down. It’s not far from where I live 😳 Those were some really feral people. None of them should ever get out of gaol - ever. I sure don’t want them living anywhere near me or my family..

Was thinking that too. The neighbour was going in to look after the dogs, maybe she thought it was dog smell?! She clearly wasn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer - her friend was missing, there’s a suspicious roll of carpet and a terrible smell and she wasn’t even curious.

There were parts of these videos where I wasn't watching, just listening, so the nicknames made it easy to follow. As for when I was watching, the chart with the names also helped. My mum lived in Snowtown during all of this. My grandparents would move around a lot to "serve the lord" and they actually visited the house of one of the murderers. i never believed her until my grandmother went into great detail about living there and seeing the newspapers.
