I think if the writers wanted Chat Blanc, they should've just waited until they were ready to do a true reveal or something because throwing time travel in when previous elements and plot points to the show has gone poorly in the past is dumb

Also consider: we could still get that cool scenery and fight scenes if Alex directly goes back home after convincing Mari to write her name or if she chooses to investigate the future to see what's wrong. Like a fight between Chat and her as she tries to get back to her time travel room safely.

i love your version of chat blanc! it really adds character and development to alix in a way the original doesn't. in this scenario, if they still wanted to have chat blanc and ladybug fight, all they had to do was have chat blanc's destruction dialed back just enough for his ladybug to fight against him (and lose) as bunnyx watched. it would have probably been more hard hitting because ladybug would have known way more about chat noir as she knows who he is and was dating him for months. though, i do think chat blanc would have been better utilized as an antagonist in the actual "main timeline" in a later season when they were ready for a reveal, because he's probably the best antagonist they've come up with due to the audience's connection to adrien as a main character. either way, your simple tweak really fixes the time traveling paradox that has broken my brain from this episode. it's a really good idea i wish they did!

For the climax, I can see how Ladybug could've been added to it and fight Chat if it was absolutely necessary for her to be there but there really isn't. Following along with your re-write after Bunnix tells her not to write her name LB is skeptical like "Why? You just told me to do it," Have Bunnix explain the situation like "Chat Noir gets akumatized and ends the world." Ladybug would continue to be skeptical and not believe her because she also had the same thinking of "What could possibly go wrong?" Getting annoyed Bunnix drags her into the burrow and shows her and Ladybug hating to see Chat Noir like that jumps in to help Chat and being too emotional to think if she just went back then it'll be fixed she's just prioritizing helping him now and Bunnix has to help to keep her alive, Chat gets saved and Bunnix explains there was an easier way to do this but appreciates how much she cares for her partner. As for Marinette's paranoia, I wouldn't have it stuck on his identity but the possible consequences of knowing his identity which over time goes away because as time goes on she sees that he's fine. This would be coupled with the fact that they would be finding more clues to Hawkmoth's identity and Adrien suspecting his father more and more and coming to terms with the likelihood his dad is Hawkmoth. I also wouldn't really use the paranoia as the main reason for not sharing identities but as a precaution to either of them being akumatized or something else happening and have her focus more on that than "I don't wanna do it because the one time we did you were akumatized" but "I'm fine with us knowing but to keep each other, and Paris safe it's best we don't know so if one of us does get akumatized or one of us is exposed, we can't be used to figure out who the other is." Or something better to deal with the paranoia if it was necessary like Bunnix reassuring her this wasn't Ladybug's fault it was her's for messing with time. (And it really isn't)

I personally think that with cat blanc they should have made it it's own season or special episodes so you get more detailed story with no time travel

They even could keeped the drama and the paranoia, just make the future Alix tell Mari these horrible things that happend in the future, I think it would be even more powerful, and developing Alix character, she didn't get her "character focused episodes" yet. What if Alix already has the bunny miraculous, as it is an heirloom, and it doesn’t time travel, but merely predicts. She has prophetic dreams-ish stuff and then she realizes something awful is about to happen. The climax is a complete downer, but the kicker is, that it is a prophecy. She can only prevent Marinette from signing on the present, but doesn’t tell her why that is, because, she doesn’t know if that is a smart move. She doesn’t elaborate either, as she is not willing to become a Cassandra of her community.

1st. This actually makes sense to how time travel could have work in Miraculous Ladybug. Sometimes I wish that Thomas and the other writers could see these kinds of reviews/fanfictions of the show, to try and see the great ideas that fans and non fans have to make the plot so much better 2nd. You did a great video of explaining how the Chat Blanc episode could have been, if the writer's have done a better job in knowing how their time travel works, whether or not it's a close loop, multiverse, or paradox. If anything I feel more at ease that there's a proper answer to it, even if it doesn't become Canon in the series And 3rd. I'm planning on writing a Miraculous Ladybug fanfiction, but it won't be the same characters and the plot is a bit different. I love love love this rewrite, and it would be so nice to have an episode from a Alix's perspective, but it doesn't fix something glaring in the show. Time Traveling being so readily available murders any tension the show once had. Now that we know that Alix can time travel and just fix everything at any given time, why should we be worried about the characters anymore? They can't loose.

I have a way to save the ChatBlanc episode. Change the biggest part, namly Gabriel's actions and Bunnix's motivation. Have it be done so that when Gabriel finds out that his son is Chatnoir, he gives up. He forsakes the Hawkmoth persona. Quits his goal because he cannot bring more harm to his family. Why is this good and why is it bad? It's good because it keeps Gabriel's identity of being a hurt, strict but ctually caring father like we saw in the gorilla episode. Now why is it bad? Because the result of him quitting causes Ladybug and Chat to no longer have to fight him or recruit more heroes, then in the future a new threat shows up which nobody is ready for and everyone is underpowered to stop it. This would make Gabriel really important for the heroes despite being a villian and why he can't have his identity revealed or be stopped too early. Especially by Bunnix. Frick, might as well throw the one thing that connects the title of the episode. Marinette gets killed, Adrien in in shock and in order to defeat the evil, Gabriel takes up the mantle again infront of his son and gives him the extra strength. But the uncontrollable emotions causes Adriens powers to surge, defeating the big bad but ending up killing his father and flooding Paris. Tipping him over the age.

I noticed this contradiction as soon as I watched the episode and just found it frustrating. It's like the writers don't do any proof-reading half the time. My own fix for the paradox would be to cut the opening with the girl-squad and instead have the episode open with the heroes mid-fight against Timebreaker. Ladybug once again gets dragged back to the past by Timebreaker, and like in the S1 episode Ladybug uses the opportunity to fix her mistake, telling past Marinette to go sign the letter, the existence of the gift and letter being established at some point in there; Timebreaker is beaten and the Miraculous cure fuses to two Ladybugs. The episode can then continue from there with the change to the timeline prompting Bunnix to appear.

Bunnix has to come from both Version1 and Version3 of the timeline, thanks to Timetagger and Cat Blance. Since she doesn't dissaper after Version3 is created but is also the same Bunnix as Timetaggers Bunnix, which came from Version1... Thanks Astruc. Basically Miraculous has to (retroactivley) invent a version of timetravle that can restore the original version of the timeline after a disruption (so after Cat Blance we go back to Version1 instead of creating Version3), which still doesn't work, since Bunnix dissapears in Cat Blance...

I think the cause of Cat Blanc was supposed to be a mystery. The viewer unravels the mystery while we watch the fight in the future so it was not a waste of time. There are two possibilities for what Bunnyx intended to accomplish. Either Ladybug was sent to the future to change the past after discovering the catalyst for the events, or Bunnyx wanted a Ladybug from the past to fill in for the Ladybug who died in the future. She would use miraculous ladybug to undue the damage to Paris and bring everyone back to life. This would have saved Alex and stopped Bunnyx from disappearing. Then Ladybug returns to the past to live through the events of Cat Blanc as a natural part of the timeline and the paradox persists.

This makes a lot more sense! I didn’t really understand the timeline stuff very well before this video, so this really helped. It makes a lot of sense to have this be an episode about Bunix and give her character development by having her mess with time. We would still get to see a possible timeline with Chat Blanc, but wouldn’t have a time paradox. Great job rewriting it

This definitely makes much more sense! The one problem I have with your idea: how would this stretch into a 20 minute episode?

I think there is even a simpler way they could have done this in my opinion. The episode starts with another timetraveling villian from the future. LB and Chat fight the villian(no need for Bunnix) but this causes Marinette to miss her chance of giving Adrien her present so she uses her powers to break into his room and leave it there. This way you include an element that disturbs the original timeline without having to write things like character growth from mistakes, cause we know that MLB writers are allergic to that

It's always bugged me how Bunnix went back in time to the moment right after the event that set in motion Chat Blanc without knowing what caused the catastrophe or even why Chat Blanc went ballistic. It doesn't make any sense!

Alternatively, just say that a version of Bunix always existed in the present, and went back in time while Paris was being destroyed to get Marinette. Sure, it's not perfect, but then the climax still happens while you could have a fun time-loop thing what with a version of her always going back to get Marinette. You can even say that Bunix's absence directly causes Paris to be destroyed every time, making it a stable time loop where the same thing always happens because they always make the same choice.

I think Bunnix is more like the TVA, where she goes to timelines where something changed but she changes it to make it the same via the sacred timeline. you are right about Bunnix fading from existence, being borrowed from back to the future. so yeah Thomas astruc thinking he could do both with this doesn't make sense. I mean Doraemon did something similar but it established closed-loop theory instead of having Sobi disappear when Nobi didn't marry little G.

I personally like miraculous but I'm also one of the people who can see what is wrong with the show as for the time traveling thing I agree with the back to the future theory but I think the more accurate theory would be the samurai jack theory (if you don't know what I'm talking about go see the final session of Samurai jack) love the video can't wait for more. 😀

I agree with this rewrite, it makes a ton of more sense than how you described the original Chat Blanc script to be. I'm actually reminded of three different examples of time travel/timeline plot that I like, being Homestuck, Futurama, and Sonic '06, and I want to talk about these because I love to talk about time related plots. Using Sonic '06 first as a sort of devil's advocate, you say it wouldn't make sense to right the future instead of righting the past. I can see where you're coming from, though closed loop or not, fixing the future is still valid, considering Silver's attempts to fix the past (though can't because it's a Closed Loop situation) he instead fixes his current time so his world can be a better place. I'd love to talk about this more if anyone is interested. For Futurama, I just really like how the writers did time shenanigans. Traveling back in time takes _considerably_ more energy to do than traveling forward in time (if I remember right, I only watched the episode once), and as a secondary trait, time is eternal and goes in a full loop, a cycle, starting from the Big Bang to the Big Crunch/Heat Death whichever it was, and that the only thing that changes is that the universe is slightly positioned away from its last iteration. Everything happens as it is every time, and I think that's a very clever twist to the Closed Loop. Last but certainly not least, Homestuck. *Spoilers if you wanna read it, because I will be revealing the ending twist because the conversation calls for it.* Homestuck is written to have both the Multiverse theory and the Closed Loop theory, and I really like how they're intergrated into each other. Choices both do and don't matter. The way it's written is that there is a Main Timeline of which that is the Closed Loop, and any branching aways from the Main Timeline are Doomed Timelines brought in by the Multiverse aspect. Without time manipulation (apart from the Lordling) it would be simple enough on its own, but there are multiple means of time manipulation even with characters that don't have time powers, meaning there are Doomed Timelines that influence the Main Timeline to stay on track. A Doomed version of the Knight of Time character (who can actively travel through time, though has the responsibility of creating stable time loops as to not make piles of his dead selves everywhere), goes back in time to where the Doomed Timeline was about to splinter off and helps himself correct the course. Of course with helping the Main Timeline version of himself he's at risk of erasing himself, so he anchors himself into the Main Timeline by merging with an entity that needed some object to upgrade itself, and he guides the Main Timeline version of himself that way. Another character, Maid of Time (yes it's a pun) who "Creates Time" which is purposefully vague enough to be interpretted in several ways, is able to summon Doomed versions of herself from Doomed Timelines to help keep the Main Timeline on track, which she's done several times I believe. And then there's the Lord of Time who's the biggest jerkwad and unfortunately responsible for the Closed Loop he created that fortunately dooms himself in the Main Timeline. Lords have a broad but fixed amount of powers that may seem daunting at face value, but this Lord was actually destined to lose from the beginning. He's stuck in his own time loop, and in a way he sort of embodies this timeloop. I could gush about more misc things about time shenanigans im Homestuck, but I figured this comment is long enough. I like that idea!! It gives alex some character development but i think it would be kinda boring!!! Alex centered episode is fine what's a Miraculous episode without some action like what will cat blanc do while everyone is just dead destroy everything over and over again??? If the creator still wanna entertain the audience,they could've make future ladybug survive that cataclysm!!! (How would she survive the absolutely impossible-to-dodge obstacles?? Idk!!) That way they could still have that cool action scene while not to worry about the time paradox!!!

It will be interesting to see what is revealed in the upcoming episode, "Dearest Family", where Marinette's parents are accumatised. Tikki uses the Lucky charm for selfish reasons. What will be the result of that? Because it was Tikki who cautioned Marinette, at the beginning of "Cat Blanc", not to use her Miraculous, for the wrong reasons. Which at the time, was to gain access to Adrien's house by turning into Ladybug. I believe it was Marinette's misuse of the Miraculous, that altered the timeline. Had she remained Marinette, there would be no access to Adrien's room, to write anything. So becoming Ladybug for the wrong reasons, tempted the magical realm - saying goodbye to time travel, as we know it, and hello kwami of creation instead. Which undoes time and events, at the end of every episode, to reverse the destruction caused. So I'm curious to learn what will come from the ramifications of Tikki, tempting the magical realm, in Dearest Family. Will it explain the timeline of Cat Blanc, better? I've always considered Cat Blanc to be a Thomas Astruc, Mcguffin. Meaning it's purpose, was purely to explain something more complex, in future episodes.

So I did a LOOSE rewrite that fixes this without changing the existing episode. the whole thing is below but a tldr is that lb and cn have to go into the past to escape from their own dumb actions and inadvertantly cause Mari to write her name. That way, it is a deviation from the original timeline and bunnix can in fact exist. What do yall think S6: Everyone is now Guardian of their own Miraculous, but LB has to shepherd them. This once again hurts CN but now, instead of giving up his Miraculous he has a heart to heart with LB where they talk about what they want. This shows Adrien's emotional intelligence because he was born from an emotion while also giving us cute Ladynoir stuff. Ignore my awful writing this is not a script its basic talking points that happen over a much longer period of time): "mlady i dont understand. why are you pushing me away? have i not shown that im capable? have i not shown that im responsible?" "yes kitty but...i just" "you dont have to do this alone" "I just don't know if i can trus-" "mlady i will always be by your side. ive shown that already. obviously this fear isnt from me. You dont have to say what caused this or what you are thinking, but you do have to put faith in me, as i do you" After this he becomes more powerful and a bigger leader of the team. he learns all the holders identities and teaches them the same way LB does. He grows in power. Meanwhile, we see Adrien struggling as an orphan because of his mixed feelings abt his father. Then, LB works up the courage to tell him the truth abt Monarchs identity. Adrien makes up a story about how he found out and throws away the rings, leading him to learning the truth about his existence from Natalie. Feeling lied to, he isolates himself from Natalie and turns to Mari for support, but she always seems preoccupied. This leads to them breaking up. We get to see both LB and CN just be incredibly depressed and try to comfort eachother (Ladynoir and sad Adrienette). Lila slowly uses her miraculous, but her secret is 75% through the season. Tensions rise as Lila becomes a bigger and bigger threat. Realizing they cannot defeat her, LB and CN head into the past to the Agreste Manor to take the jewel before Lila can get to it. A very young Bunnix helps them. Paris is safe in the hands of the rest of the team. In the process, ladybug is injured and chat noir has to leave her outside while he goes in. He sees the final battle and in an attempt to get the broach he is spotted by Gabe and BugNoire. BN is so shocked that she misses a beat and is knocked unconscious. Meanwhile, LB can't stay put and limps her way to the battle to protect CN. CN and Gabe battle which leads Gabe learning CN's identity + an emotional scene. Gabe still wins, taking both his sons miraculous and the earrings off of an unconscious BN. LB sees Adrien. Gabe begins to make his wish. Meanwhile, Adrien is gets his miraculous from BN and sees her identity while LB manages to grab the butterfly miraculous. CN and LB look at each other with shock due to all the new knowledge. In the rain begins to play. Record scratch. In between them emerges a distraught adult Bunnix. "Mini Bug, WHAT DID YOU DO." Fade to black. (So we got our reveal but there is still interest being held for the next season.) Season 7 So the drastic change in events prevents the s6 chain of event from ever occurring. Events are disintegrating rapidly, and so are our heroes. Because Lila didn't get the miraculous, they never had to go back in time. Thus, LB and CN are disintegrating rapidly too. An unknown force has been chasing Bunnix and it is after our two heroes. The only way to fix this is to set it back to how it was originally, which means the two would lose to Lila. Its a lose-lose situation. While they try to figure out what to do, they must hop times to protect themselves. The love square is closed once and for all as the two know each other's identities. However, after all the hurt these two have endured they switched to your stereotypical slow burn romance. They battle and repair their relationships. They watch how silly they used to be. We get a bit of meta humor. They start to disintegrate and ladybug keeps using her power to re-create them, which is drawing essential energy from her. As they hop through time, they manage to fly under the radar all but once. When was that time? Cat Blanc. They do something that makes Marinette write her name on the present for adrien. CN finds out about ChatBlanc and we get a ton of angst and healing and trauma for both Characters. Tensions continue to rise and as both get more powerful they also get more self-centered. (I do not know where to go from here so i just left it)

I JUST REALIZED WHY BUNNIX STARTED DISAPPEARING! It wasn’t because the time travel rules were being inconsistent, it was because if Cat Blanc won he would have destroyed every timeline, and all of existence. The timeline bunnix came from was a time remnant timeline, which explains how she is still there. That Time remnant timeline was unaffected by Cat Blanc destroying the world, but if Cat Blanc were to destroy all of time and all of existence, then it would also affect the time remnant timeline that bunnix came from. It explains why the other timelines on the screens were vanishing in the burrow. It’s all coming together now!!!!

I figured the paradox would be Marinette fixing the timeline Marinette going and not writing her name on the present would theoretically erase her memory of what happened when she did when she used Miraculous Ladybug Which would lead to her still writing her name on the present, thereby leading to Cat Blanc Which would lead to Marinette going back and fixing the timeline, which would erase her memory of fixing the timeline and still writing her name And so on and on it goes

Marinette is still a stalker (maybe less than in earlier seasons), Chat Noir is still irresponsible (I had so much hope after Kuro Neko, and then Penalteam happened), so no, whether you have Chat Blanc or not, they still have a (s*)load of growing to do, before revealing themselves to one another (and no, the others don't count, their Miraculous don't destroy the whole world and rebuild it in a form nobody has any clue how it would look like) won't blow up the world. Whether that happened for Chat Blanc or not (as everyone seems to agree on, it's a fanfiction turned show episode :p ), if you watch when the writers are on the podium, what they say is: it's about the people, what they live with each other - that's their starting point. Everything else: fights, villains, etc. etc. is just embellishment. And for Chat Blanc you would clearly see, the bad actions, the wrong decisions (Tikki clearly warns Marinette before all of it happens), Plagg knows what Adrien's doing is wrong and tries to prevent it - Plagg of all people. You even see the repercussions later in season 4, Chat Blanc haunting Ladybug -> Marinette (more than once). Please give the writers more credit.

Sorry I know I’m a little late, but you’re storyline is amazing and makes so much more sense. For the longest time I really loved the Chat Blanc episode but the gaping plot holes were frustrating. Your way allows the cool concept to stay the same but takes away those plot holes. As for the climax making no sense, I have an idea for how that could maybe be fixed and still include it but I’m not totally sure if it would work. What if Mari going to the future was an accident, like maybe this episode takes place before Mari learns who Bunnix is which adds to the distrust so when Bunnix contradicts herself and tells Mari to not write her name, Mari panics and worries that what if Bunnix is trying to trick her or that it wasn’t the ladybug of the future that gave her that Miraculous but really someone else who stole it and gave it to her, meaning that Bunnix wasn’t trustworthy just because she had the Miraculous. They could get into s sort of argument and maybe Bunnix who is still freaking out from her mistake throws her arms out in an attempt to tell Mari to wait but accidentally creates a burrow that pulls Mari in and since the last place Bunnix viewed was the destroyed world, that’s where it bring Mari. (However I am not too familiar with how the Bunny power works so I have no idea if it would be possible to accidentally use it like that) if that does work Bunnix could panic even further because now Mari was now in danger so after a few seconds of stressing out she decided to hop through the burrow after her before it closes (again no idea if it would close on it’s own) when she gets their she finds Mari completely distraught staring at the destruction of the world and while Bunnix tries to get her to jump back through so she can erase the name and stop all of this from happening, Ladybug demands some type of answer as to why the world was destroyed. Bunnix maybe says something along the lines of “No Ladybug you can’t stay here, we have to get you out of here before he shows up” and then as Ladybug is like “wait who’s he” Chat Blanc could pop up from behind something and be like “I have a feeling she means me” and run at Bunnix to steal her miraculous before they can react. As for why he would do this maybe he wanted to talk to ladybug without any other hero trying to interfere or maybe he overheard her saying she wanted to get Ladybug away from him and felt as if she was trying to separate them and he didn’t want to lose Ladybug again. Then since Bunnix can’t use her power they can’t immediately go back and Ladybug is forced to fight Cat Blanc still, eventually defeating him and giving the Miraculous back to Bunnix so they can go fix what happened. (The only thing is if Mari left the timeline with Bunnix would Cat Blanc happen since she would have disappeared from that timeline so I’m not really sure if that would work or not) but yeah that’s just my take on it, I didn’t really do a lot of background research so that may not make sense. Anyways I really liked the video and your new storyline is so much better than the original.

my only real question is with this rewrite would there be enough stuff to make a full episode? I mean she goes back in time, fuks up, then goes back in time to fix the fuk up, and that's kinda it. it fixes the paradox yeah but if the episode was structured like that I don't think there'd be enough to fill whole episode's worth of content with out having tons of filler. It makes a lot more sense then the real cat blanc I'll admit tho which ig was the goal of the rewrite, u did achieve ur goal which I applaud, I just don't know if it'd make for a very interesting episode to watch.

I'm confused about the solution to fix a paradox: You said someone would travel to the past using time travel to convince Marinette to write her name on Adrien's present that way the natural timeline W/O time travel interference has Marinette deciding on her own to not write her name. So is this person who's traveling to the past a paradox themselves? The wording confuses me. It's like there's a gap missing between someone using time travel to convince Marinette and the timeline flowing naturally without time travel interference. Then again I used closed captions so that could be the reason too. But I need someone's perspective to help me see how the wording connects.

This sort of doesn’t work because the way you mentioned it Marinette wouldn’t have trauma and I know that’s what the writers were going for so if she has no memory of the event the miraculous ladybugs would even like with the name of the present thing I like it though I personally like the Multiverse theory
