Jin in later Tekken has become a bit easier to use. Though I'm yet to play Tekken 8, I'm so far impressed how Jin from a casual view has become a lot easier to use though he's still hard to truly master. He's the Ryu, Kyo Kusanagi, Liu Kang and Kasumi of Tekken.

I prefer the idea of characters having stuff that casual players can master but also having things that long time players like me would enjoy. In the same way I have always wanted more execution heavy stuff that offers big rewards for characters like Leroy.

Oh so now Tekken 7 Jin has weaknesses. You keep hamming it up and constantly say "he's perfect" in many of your videos but now that the devs give you a truly perfect version of him suddenly "T7 Jin only has ws4, very brainy, inaccessible etc."

Jin is a strong character His poking range is good his new B3, 2 is safe on block, his F3, 1 is guaranteed follow up on delayed. His new zen options are so oppressive like U1/ 4 / grab/ zen 1, 2 df into 1/ 2 / 4,2 or just cancel. Lows other than D2 like D3, 4, 3 is good pressure on wall cause in CH it give wall splat and even break walls WS moves are good like WS 1,3,2,1,4,2 / 4,4 / 1,2 zen 2. Edit:I forgot to mention that his CD1 is a grounded attack so if the opponent like to stay down don't use D2 use CD1 cause if they press you get a launcher same a D2 but it didn't automatically bounds so you get a combo and bound.

tekken 8 jin is more fun to play than tekken 7 jin no longer have to work 10x harder than most of my opponents in order to compete.

I think tmm is overreacting a bit. I do agree that some of the things should get slightly nerfed - ewhf should launch not whf. Jin is definitely top 5 right now but he doesnt break the game. He should be one of the strongest characters as he’s essentially the face of the game. So should Kazuya imo. They did our beloved masku dirty in the CBT but please dont take this out on Jin… Revert Kazuya back to CNT and even slightly buff his df1 hitbox so he can actually hit larger characters like Jack-8

As the Rank 1 player with Jin and about 700 games in CBT I can say that he is easily top 3-5 BUT he does not break the game whatsoever. Edit: Before you go after my ass. Remember that Feng,Jack,Jun,Xiaoyu,Bryan,Paul and Azucena are in this game , I played every character at least 60 times and I find Jin and Kazuya to be the easiest characters to fight against.

My opinion might be unpopular as a Jin Player but I like that he is more accessible to newer players. The went too hard on the forward 4 conversions in t7. I hope new comers pick him up and stick with him. Mainman may be right though about the story implications and accessibility.

They basically turned all his weaknesses into strengths, now he's got the lowest floor and highest ceiling of all the characters. Nerfs are definitely needed. As a Jin main I'm glad he's different but he's just overtuned and given the possibility of another test before release I could see him getting the Kaz treatment.

A lot of inputs seem to have been streamlined. No more [2,1] inputs for example.

The reason i like Jin in T7 was because he was hard to master execution wise and winning a match in T7 felt like that you did everything right But seeing him become so easy to play loses that charm of him that he’s very very hard to master which satisfied a lot of jin mains ego

Loved the breakdown TMM! I tuned into your stream and managed to catch this before it went live 😄 I thought I'd mention some things that I noticed during the time I played Jin in the CBT. Maybe some were/weren't mentioned here but yeah either way: 1. His new b+1,2 is a godlike whiff punisher and also his best resplat move at the wall. Only weakness is it's high - high. You can sometimes link up to 2-3 of them since T8 has a way more lenient wall system that allows multiple resplats.. at times it feels reminiscent of Tekken 4 😂 2. zen u+1 is literally DJ's u+4 since it crushes so many highs and even mids. You can throw it out in the neutral and it probably won't get punished. Even worse is that it recovers in a crouching position so a lot of high punishers like jabs will straight up whiff. It comes out instantly in the Zanshin stance (b+3+4) compared to Zenshin (f+3+4) 3. At 16:04 - 16:15 you showed something that is probably unintended: his d/f+2+3 throw can be instantly done out of both Zen stances if you press 2 immediately after the animation begins. If you delay it even by a tiny bit you'll get his power crush. Likewise, his new 1+2 low chop can become unseeable doing this same trick. 4. His magic 4 on counter hit now guarantees the 1+2 heat engager move 5. Jin actually has a FC mixup game with his new sweep.. combine that with cds+1 (Thrusting Uppercut) hitting grounded and flipping over.. scary mixups 6. The f+3,1 heat engager catches a lot of people off guard. Likewise from the time I spent playing ranked, people would get hit by Demon Paw after eating his new hellsweep string that spikes. I thought it was guaranteed at first but no, people just kept getting up after the HS lol. I even tested it on the CPU and it never got hit. 7. His Kazama Style 6 hit combo from crouch (ws 1,3,2,1,4,2) becomes fully guaranteed if the two first hits land on CH. Somehow Bamco completely ignored this string in both the CNT/CBT but decided "Oh yeah, let's nerf Kazuya's new df+3+4 string into oblivion" 🙄 Sorry for the massive wall of text, but hopefully you find this info useful in some way! i have a question about F4. Yes, it has become easier to pick up on CH without going into zen, but now its even harder to zen cancel than before so is this not a fair trade on F4 and an argument to leave it as it is? Just a simple question.

His d2 is +4 on hit? Pretty much like dragunov but has plus frame

I add one move. Df+2 , homing mid, 9- on block, auto crouchdash transition if you hold df, (-2 on block , cancelable crouchdash into block) if it hits you enter crouch dash with +13 into the „red eye“ crouch dash btw, that means 1 button electrics, safe mid homing and … idk.. hellsweep. Have fun guessing the coinflips in January. Oh and it has 0.2 -0.3 more range than bryans 1+2.

I mean people are crying over Jin and the almighty d2 but about Kaz d1+2 huuh ? it's the exact same, Kaz is like + 4 too and CH launches into a full combo, JIn got insta screw launch instead, the trade off being that Jin tracks better 214 ? Kaz now has 1223 which cancels 122 string into ss3 (it doesnt give anything on CH so it makes it slightly worse) I don't have anything related to Jin f4 and this is for real very good and probably the only point that is separating both chars, probably Kaz new cd1+2, it's way slower tho but the purpose is here They wanted to make both ressembling each other, Kaz also has ff2 mid insane reach, that totally destroy what was Kaz weakness in SWL, Yes you can't SWL/SSL Kaz ff2, you need to SSR which is contrary to Kaz identity Kaz has a normal hit launch EWHF, Jin's insta screw for the trade off of tracking SSL (which isnt Jin weak side btw) They buffed Jin's punishment with b12, but Jin is way more unsafe, double non jailing high that is -12, Kaz b12 is one frame faster but -14, a very few char are launching that on block again Jin's punishment with ws44, Kaz always had this so I don't get it, since they want both chars to look like each other it's a legit buff A point that favours Kazuya imo is the heat system which dict the pace of a match, Kazuya heat engagers are way better than Jin's, Kaz has access to a busted sweep in heat, and he has the omen mix up with the devil stomp, Jin can't use omen unless you're at the wall, and even then it's not menacing eating the sweep, compared to the risk Jin is taking, because he doesnt have access to a legit safe mid from here at the wall, where Kaz has his ff2 Jin hellsweep being slower make it riskier to use too compared to Kaz which not changed that much I mean you can argue Jin being good, I personally don't believe Jin is top 3, and I place Jin after Kazuya in my opinion which is like top 10, and Kaz top 9, theres far better characters in Jack, Jun, King, Leroy, Hwoarang, Claudio, Feng, Azucena, Raven so yea One thing I agree with is that they made Jin very easy and simple because of the fact that he's the hero and popular, I hate that tbh the char lost so much taste in my opinion, but heh it is what it is

We always talking about this "Jin is an EXTREMELY difficult character!" thing but tbh I think that more applies to like high-level online and upwards play. At an intermediate level of Tekken he doesn't require obscene execution or ridiculously smart game plan - I have played half-decent Jins at red rank who have clearly been carried by doing ungabunga strings at the wall... they won't even do electrics or f4 pick-ups.

Allow me to make an argument ... T7 Jin concept wise (while beautiful) was kinda weak and not necessary leading into T8 ... A character that make you learn, understand and experience every single situation the game puts you in and pushes you to make the correct decision is all great but is also super nerdy, not flashy, not beginner friendly and certainly is not going to get popular as your games mascot(like ryu and ken in sf) ... Harada understood this and is remaking the character to best represent T8 while cleaning out the gutter that is filled with sweaty Jin mains eliminating their whole existence well played Harada-dono ❤

I think the natural progression for a player should be Jin-kazuya-heihachi, jin should be easy and high damage, kazuya medium damage but more interesting and tactical, heihachi should be low damage but very tecnical and expert level. so you can experience a maturing progression trough the game. And devil jin (even thou I've never accepted this character, eather you do devil or none) a kind of blend of all tree or a tricky character like yoshi alisa ecc

On Twitter...I saw this really stupid thing he could do with his ZEN1,2 cancel...he can go fullscreen and get an insane 50/50.

Harada trolling Maindundus is gold. I like the drama, he fully deserves it.

He has great tools but i think they need to bring back some of the cancels he has. It will probably make him harder and less accesible but rewards will be higher and there will be a lot difference between good jin players and the rest so imo they should make him trickier. I only played Jin during the beta and he was incredibly enjoyable but he lacks some of the combo potential he had in Tekken 7. For example because you have heat instead of rage drive in Tekken 8 he lost one of the best combo tools he had and because heat dash offers less combo potential for every character he has limited potential tbh. I mean having more tools doesn't mean it will make him harder if he stays like this.

No idea why they nerf Kazuya so hard yet keep Jin in such a strong position. They're the front and centre characters. Why do kazuya so bad?

Jin should absolutely be the much easier to use and they absolutely achieved that. He's literally Tekkens Ryu and him being too hard to use wasn't helping the franchise and was overbloating the games difficulty. Don't get me wrong, it's super hard, but Jin was EXTRA super hard. I like that he's way easier to use now as he is a super important character to the franchise and SHOULD be easy as he's gonna be a lot of first players first picks. However, he is wayyyyyyy toooooooo strong right now. He was absolutely ridiculous in the beta and everytime I went up against a jin, I lost confidence easily because it was just way too hard to fight him, ironically

My jokes aside, Jin F4 buff and that D2 make him so strong already. 2,4 into zen is an unstoppable 50/50 on hit. He got LOTS of buffs, and I don't really even notice nerfs.
