You’re an absolute breath of fresh air. I’m also extremely introverted and get very snappy and unwell if I’m around people too much. I’m always amazed how people can spend all day socialising and then with people in the evening too. That’s why I love my dogs…you’re never alone when you have pets. Xxx

i have such a similar mental health story, especially the ocd and horror movies being weirdly comforting (my favorite is martyrs 🥰). hearing you talk so openly about being in a psychiatric facility when it’s something i still am too embarrassed to talk about is so refreshing bc there’s still such a stigma around hospitals. loved this video, you are such a beautiful soul and i hope you never stop creating 💕

Horror films are incredible I think because if you struggle with your own darkness, they not only put it into (entertaining) perspective, but there’s comfort in having open and honest acknowledgment of life’s darker moments and challenges. It’s a relief compared to the fluffy-bunny romcom world where everything magically goes perfect-and there’s in turn SO MUCH PRESSURE put back on you, the viewer, wondering “well where’s my Mr. Darcy?” In their very imagining, most horror films are a cathartic and oddly stoic escape from reality…

Olivia, I'm sorry to hear about your investigations for epilepsy, but the moment at 0.53 when you paused and said I think I've had a stroke - that could be an absence seizure. Please share the video with your neurologist. It's probably fine but best to check it out. I adore your personality and work on KZfaq. Take care❤️

I love that you are being so honest about your mental health history. You help take the stigma out of it and make people feel less lonely. I went to a professional event by myself for the first time in April. It was in far from home so I had to go the day before and sleep at a hotel. I was anxious the entire evening and almost didn’t sleep. I didn’t think I would ever do it! I’m so proud of myself. I think we could have been friends in another life, we both avoid people and socialisation. You seem to have such a soothing presence so I binge watch you videos instead of being able to really talk to you😂. P.S. : I am French and I looove hearing you pronounce the names of the French products in your other videos 🥰.

As long as you're comfortable sharing, Miss Olivia, we'll be here listening. I don't like being around people either, and I'm glad you talked openly about not being lonely. And I'm on a mental health journey too, one I started very young and continued through all my 63 years; it's a long story including three psychiatric hospitalizations, an enduring marriage to a similarly-situated man, a 26-year career in legal aid, Emotional Support Animals, homelessness, and misophonia. Maybe I'll make a video about it sometime. Wishing you well, dear.

Thank you for sharing your mental health journey with us. As a lot of people have already said, this is very important. I can definitely relate to many different parts of your story. I remember a few years back, a coworker of mine told me I am the most "calm" person he has ever met and other people agreed. But they didn't know I had anxiety that can make me dysfunctional at varied points of my life. That's how your videos (with your "soothing" voice, as many people refer to it, myself included) make me feel, but for you to share your story that in fact, there are times when the storms (so to speak) inside you rages that not many people around you can see/hear, makes me feel less alone. All they hear is your calm/soothing voice, and not the anxiety or depression lurking inside. And these mental health struggles can be very loud inside. I loved that you were so detailed and even took the time to share with us a photo (I know that can be difficult) + hearing it all so beautifully articulated (with your lovely voice) is the icing on the cake. (Okay this is the longest comment I'd ever made on YT, and definitely too much parentheses). Additional question to end on a high note, maybe for your next video: What are your favourite horror films? (Other than the classics, I love so many A24 films).

Thank you for sharing a bit of your mental health journey. Horror movies: I get you! I deal with anxiety for longer than 20 years. I elaborated about horror movies in therapy. I did not understand why I liked them because I don't like to get scared at all. However, because I know it is fiction and everybody is going to be fine and they are just acting, it is somehow reassuring to me. In my case, they are quite good training for me to understand and control my adrenalin levels. By the way, your voice is soooo beautiful and soothing. ❤

Olivia - thank you so much for this. As someone who has lived with severe anxiety and bipolar disorder her entire life I can relate to your story. In the US it's a bit more difficult to get suitable help. After a suicide attempt in 2018 I ended up in a mental ward for 7 days and that was the longest I could stay with my insurance. I definitely needed a longer time, but it was helpful. I began watching you for your lovely voice overs, and quickly began enjoying all of your content. Please keep going! You have many fans, including this old lady from Indiana in the US.

thank you for talking about your mental health. for me it’s cathartic to both talk about it and to hear others talk about. i dealt with depression for years (and still do, but it’s better with therapy and antidepressants) and i was recently diagnosed with ADHD, but i’m super thankful i didn’t have to deal with anxiety. it sounds like a whole other beast, and i’m so happy you’re getting the help that you needed!

Love the rich diversity of your interests. I relate to your mental health story; none of it's unfamiliar to me, from the anxiety and OCD extremes to the meltdowns at milestones in life (including loss of skills, shutdowns and catatonia, and inexplicable reactions to my overwhelm) and headaches from the cognitive overstimulation of speaking to people, although my experiences were recognised to be symptoms of autism. It's wonderfully brave of you to speak candidly on the subject of your health. Also, to be able to support yourself and live independently having gone through so much. I am still finding my footing after health struggles. I also find it impressive that you have a finance job after obtaining an English degree. I have degrees in the arts and social sciences and think it's great when people find something they enjoy whether in or outside of their specialisation.

Thank you so much for sharing about yourself! It's comforting to hear similarities with you personality-wise. I often feel really down when I see how I'm not as extroverted and outgoing as other people around me. I've been told in the past how awkward and weird I am to feel anxious in certain social settings (like malls, food courts, etc.). It's nice to see someone else comfortable being by themselves and knowing their boundaries when it comes to social interaction. I hope I get to that point someday.

Wow. I started watching your shorts because I absolutely LOVED your voice. This is the first full video I have watched. I didn’t know about your anxiety. I have OCD. I have also battled anxiety attacks on and off for years. Recently, they have been especially bad. I just divorced after 28 years of marriage. I have 4 children and 6 grandchildren. Being a Nana is one of the greatest joys of my life. I have become quite introverted. I would imagine that, after the sponsor events, you’re probably exhausted. It is exhausting and stressful for me to be in large groups of people. Even a small group with people I don’t know stresses me out. I am so sorry that you have had this battle. I do hope they can help you find a diagnosis. I am also on 200mg of Zoloft. Thank you for sharing. You have a lovely, soothing voice. I will be believing for a breakthrough for you! ❤ Hope is one of the most powerful gifts. Success to you!!

You are a delight! I'm so glad I subscribed. It's nice to get to know you. I feel the same way about horror films - they somehow improved my mental health and I always believed it was for the same reasons you described. So nice to find someone who also thinks that way! Do you have any favorites? Mine are Hellraiser, May, The Loved Ones, and American Mary.

Recent addition to your fan base and love all of your content. Your honesty about your mental health is inspiring, i hope to be able to do the same one day. I only recently clicked that my true crime addiction is linked to my anxiety and depression in the same way! Thank you thank you thank you.❤
