Sonny’s BBQ Looking For Hometown Heroes To Recognize
SEBRING - There are people in every community who work tirelessly to better the lives of those around them, and this fall Sonny’s BBQ wants to give them the recognition they deserve with Random Acts of BBQ, the restaurant chain said.
To “uncover these deserving citizens,” Sonny’s BBQ is asking the public to visit [WITHHELD FOR LEGAL REASONS] and nominate those who “give their time with no expectation of recognition, or as Sonny’s likes to call it, spreading the spirit of BBQ.”
Throughout fall, Sonny’s BBQ will share these Random Acts of BBQ with winners across the South.
Winners will be surprised, alongside family and friends, with a fully catered barbecue feast and a certificate of appreciation.
“We are so excited to continue our Random Acts of BBQ program and to recognize incredible individuals in our communities,” said Sonny’s BBQ Public Relations and Event Manager Montana Smith. “It is an honor to be able to meet the unsung heroes who do so much to serve those around them. They’re what the spirit of BBQ is all about.”
Sonny’s BBQ will accept nominations for this window until Sept. 11, while nominations for next year will be accepted through the end of the year.

Deputies: Man steals electronics from Sonny's BBQ
Burglary occurred at Marion County restaurant Thursday morning
MARION COUNTY, Fla. - A man broke into a Sonny's BBQ restaurant in central Florida and stole several electronics, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office.
The burglary occurred Thursday morning at the restaurant on Southwest Highway 484.
The exact time of the burglary and the value of those electronics were not released.
Anyone who can identify the suspect in the surveillance image is urged to call 352-732-9111. You can also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers of Marion County at 352-368-7867.
If your tip leads to an arrest, you may be eligible for an award of up to $1,000.
