What I find with this song is that you have a militaristic intro, setting it up for something thunderous.. then Miyako rips in with the guitar signalling that something powerful is coming, but in your mind is perhaps a certain idea that the drums will come in a certain way, and somehow Haruna brings a brutal fire that overwhelms expectation. THAT is why this song is so damn good, and like Winds of Transylvania, it doesn't let go until it's finished. I love this song and it's placed in a relatively obscure part of the album too!

Japanese female rock/metal has been a thing since the formation of Show-Ya in 1981 (which is still going strong). It really exploded about 14 or15 years ago when Aldious and Destrose started at about the same time. Aldious is still going but Destrose dissolved in 2015. Destrose had a pretty turbulent history with many members coming and going. Three of those members are now part of some of the best bands in Japan, male or female. Miho (bassist)and Haruna (drummer) started Lovebites and Saki, a fantastic lead guitarist, is now splitting her time between two great bands called Mary's Blood and Nemophila. Lovebites and Nemophila are similar in that they were formed with very seasoned and talented musicians, not to mention that both have two lead guitarists, a bassist, drummer and lead vocalist. Although both are metal bands they operate in different metal lanes. Their vocalists are both amazing but have very different vocal styles. Both are heavily influenced by the hard rock and metal of the 70s and 80s, which is a big reason I love both bands. They should seriously consider touring Europe and the US together. You definitely need react to Nemophila. They are a hard rock band with some punk and metal thrown in. Unlike Lovebites and Nemophila, these ladies were much younger and inexperienced when the band formed. It took a 2 or 3 albums before they started taking control of their own sound. Their most recent album, the 2021 album called Unseen World, will rightfully be considered a classic, Their music is now almost exclusively written by the lead guitarist Kanami Tono, who is very experimental. My gut feeling is that she composes music on a level that very few reach or even fully understand. The best Band-Maid song to start with is their live performance of Domination.
