The Cat guy may have won this battle, but he is now permanently labeled as that Jerk with the Cat no matter where he launches. He even tried to involve the crew of the 3rd boat. Props to the other captain for keeping his cool.

Guy in the blue shorts has my respect for remaining cool. Good job dude. It takes a much bigger man to walk away from something like this than to take a swing. Cat dude is what we call "Part of the problem not part of the solution".

The moment the guy in the cat chose to go speak to my wife we would have had a bigger problem.

I remember when I was young (quite a long time ago), after dinner my dad would say "let's take a drive" and my dad, my mon and I would on most days end up heading to the local boat ramp. We had a boat too but my dad just liked to go down and watch everyone load and unload, it was always entertaining. I learned so much about what to do and what not to do. When I grew up and got a boat of my own, my wife would drop me off at the dock and I would go get the truck and trailer while she circled out of the boat ramp, away from all of the other boats. As soon as she saw me backing down the ramp she would be idling into position to drive the boat on the trailer (she was a master at that). Basically I'd just stand at the front of the trailer and she would put the boat in perfect position every time so all I would have to do is hook the front strap. Then I would pull my boat up way away from anyone else, because I did like to spend quite a bit of time wiping it down and cleaning everything and I didn't want to be in anyone else's way. Always worked well, never had a problem, didn't want to ever get involved in any of the boat ramp drama.

There is probably a reason why the Cat owner is by himself... nobody wants to play with him.

I wish that you had stuck around long enough to see if the CatBoy took his boat to the courtesy dock while he moved his truck.

I've had this happen when backing my boat down... But even when I was there first it's faster and easier to move the truck over a lane than the boat having to move docks. Dude is a twat waffle! Judging by his boat and truck the ego is mighty with this one!

If it was me the cat guy would have 4 flat tyres when he came back to the ramp, either just let the air out or remove the valve completely. Your cam person should have shouted out use the courtesy ramp when he was on his way back in, looks like it would be fun trying to get a boat that big in that spot

During busier hours at the docks, some ramps should be designated launch and the others retrieve. This could help.

The guy in the cat is way out of line and obviously full of himself. I would take my sweet ever loving time and actually probably would have just stayed right where I was. It is known as common sense and being courteous. I give the guy credit for moving to avoid totally ruining the day on the water. So glad we don’t live in south Florida anymore.

Michigan solved this problem, half are designated retrieve and the other half are launch. Only really needed on real busy days

That cat guy is lucky the other man wasn’t me, I would have stay there all day, even weeks, months, I would have never move my boat, period. Matter of fact I would have move it forward closest to his boat and tie it there and done.

Some day that cat owner will mess with the wrong person and you might even get it on video.

Have to say I agree with you I too would spend about half an hour getting my boat across to the other ramp and in the process completely ignore the numpty with the cat. He has been unnecessarily ignorant in this one. Curtesy costs nothing.

This is why, since my retirement, I've done my fishing on the weekdays. Less entitled clowns on the water.

So interesting how different docks are. We boat on Lake Cumberland and it's done completely different. Usually the wives drop the husbands off on the dock to get the trailer, we back away from the dock, and when we see them back the trailer down we load the boat. It's very rare that you see people tie up because there is only one dock there. But its so fast. I would need a Valium to launch & load on these docks for sure.

Miami Boat Ramps for the life of me I can't for the life of me figure out why the guy with the catamaran is being a dick to the guy who tied his boat up to the dock, I mean if the catamaran guy was more grown up and mature, he'd go and launch his boat at a different boat ramp that isn't occupied by someone.

I have lived and boated in S. Florida my whole life. With more and more people moving here and the ever increasing number of boaters, I think it is past due to have law enforcement actively direct traffic at the busier ramps. Officers also need to cite people who prep their boats at the ramp (as opposed to doing it out of the way). It has gotten so bad I rarely get to boat anymore because the weekend is the only time I'm off from work. Thinking of getting a different job, one where I work weekends and off weekdays, lol.

Watching some of these videos makes me glad that I'm no longer a boater. I don't have the patience today that I used to have.

Owned a boat here in Ohio for 12 years... It amazes me watching the way people launch and unlaunch in Florida..Tying a boat up and blocking a ramp is very disprectful here.. My wife would drop me off, I would go get the truck and trailer back it in. She would pull it on trailer and we were out.

The guy in the Cat needs to remember that other people on the dock are watching this unfold. He still needs to park his truck. Anybody could be vindictive and damage his truck out of spite while he's on the water. Be nice to people.

You’re exactly right on the courtesy dock. If people used it they’d never get a ramp. Someone would inevitably not use it and just pull into the empty dock/ramp you chose. Best way is to dock at the ramp you want to pull out from. Then it’s 100% clear which ramps are available and which are not. Had I been the guy in the boat, I’d have sat there chilling and drinking some cold ones until the cat guy moved.

This is why we have specific launch and retrieve lanes here in Australia

I'd say that if you tie to the dock in order to retrieve your truck and trailer, you have the right to be there. Especially if you dont have a crew member able to back the trailer down and you have to do it yourself. Catamaran boy just needed to pull forward and let the guy get his trailer in the water.

I love MBR's commentary and watching the chaos, but it is turning me against ever wanting to own a boat. It seems like a big hassle.

No chance I would have moved. Would have been a while before my boat was able to crank.

This is why i carry a tire stem puller. Take a picture of the Cat guys plates. And after he parks and leaves on the boat, go over and let the air out of all the tires, and pull 2 stems out.

Having been thru Fla on the Loop and after watching this (and other) channel(s), I have a very low opinion of Fla boaters. I do indeed recognize that this channel highlights the problem people, but from my experience, this kind of thing is not that unusual. Someone with more experience please tell me if I am wrong.

Boat first is not the deciding factor. Wait away from the dock until your trailer is in the ramp, then move up.

At 3:40 the jet skis on the immediate right of the catamaran have gone. Cat owner could have simply have re-aligned and launched at the dock right next door - problem would have been solved. Well done the other guy (in the right imo) for retrieving at the other dock. Cat guy is now a marked man! Maybe someone should show him this footage so he can see what a jerk he is.

Why do they not have designated in and out ramps?? We have this in Maryland and it solves most of these issues. At the end of the day, people use all ramps to pull out. I guess it is Florida after all....

Guess y'all do it different down there. Here we drop the truck driver off to get in line for ramd and other person pulls the boat away from the dock until he gets his turn to back the trailer into the water.

My motor would have been mysteriously unable to start to move to the other dock. Oh well guess I would have to stay right there.

I used to live by the dude with the catamaran. He is a tool. A few years ago his dogs actually got loose and killed my cat in our backyard, he just walked over got his dogs and left.

Been in this exact situation before, except in my case I was starting to back down my trailer when cat-boy equivalent cut me off. I was royally pissed. Some people deserve to have their drain plug ripped out...

Not saying he's right or wrong, but Cat Guy wanted that dock so his boat wouldn't drift off in the current. That's important when solo launching.

Based on my experience with people dynamics, I believe you were misguided in focusing on who's right/wrong in this situation; the answer to that issue was obvious. The REAL issue, in my opinion, was about "winning". The Cat guy seemed 100% intent on winning the argument, as doing so would feed his ego, as does his high-performance watercraft. This is evident by his interaction with the other boater couple, as well as his obvious disregard for the open launch point right next to his vehicle.

my "actual thought" is, when i see a boat like that cat i know whoever owns it is a douchebag. a boat built just to make noise and burn gas.

What a crazy ramp.

It's common if the ramp is busy, you don't stay on it. Drop a guy off to get the truck and trailer and move off the dock so others can launch. Then when your trailer hits the water, you drive onto it.

Well we know what having a lifted truck means🤣
