Thanks for making this video! I wish I had seen it, when I was on probation. I really thought that PO was there to try to put me in jail, the whole year I was waiting for my PO to be assigned. I walked in there and saw the “Community Corrections,” sign and thought, mmm…hmm. It’s just a nice way of saying it’s a cop sitting in that office, about to interrogate me. What I ended up with is someone who listened to me about what led up to my getting in trouble, and gave me a lot of referrals to help me solve the problems. He said he was sorry I wasn’t able to get help sooner. 😅. Thank you for trying to ease people’s fears. Unless people are not taking probation seriously, they usually don’t have much to worry about.

Hi Favorite P.O., Love the purple, that's my favorite color. Thanks for the info about what you can't do as a P.O. however you can't do those things as a CO either and numerous other government jobs. As far as the 2nd job is concerned, yeah I don't get that one either bc unless they're gonna give you a bonus or raise to supplement you then they shouldn't have nothing to say unless it overlaps with your schedule working as a P.O. I'm actually nearly finished with getting my bachelor's degree and next stop is supposed to be into parole just gotta figure out if it's gonna be in my home state or the state I work in now as a. CO. I did 3 yrs 5 months and 17 days on a 5 yr sentence (In Maryland) . I was on parole the remaining year a half. With no infractions, No write ups, no missed dates, and No dirty urines. However, I got a (high) speeding traffic ticket on my GSXR 750 (104-mph in a 55 zone), and my PO violated me before I went to trial. I could understand if it was a arrest-able offense, but the state trooper even, if I was going a little bit faster he could of arrested me, but since I wasn’t double over, he couldn’t arrest me, so he gave me two tickets, no signal lane change, and the speeding. So, she violated me anyway, I had to sit with out bail for three weeks, But…. My awesome lawyer knew his shit, and since I didn’t break any “Criminal” laws, I beat the violation, and the trooper never showed up to court, automatic win. That bitch either knew she couldn’t violate for a speeding ticket, or she was acting out of malice. Either way, she is one person that shouldnt be a PO. Anyway that was 14 years ago. Also, A little advice, dont break the law, its so much easier to do the right things, the right way.

We had an officer attempt to date a probationer and of course he was not only fired but prosecuted. Ethics is a serious issues. Our state for second employment you don;t have to get permission but you just have to let them know that you have a second job. Be safe out there

My daughter is a parole officer. Yesterday I saw her crying n emotional because a client who she worked with for 3 yrs ended up in jail. I suggested we go drop some money for him but shes not allowed so I burned a white candle for him and prayed in front of her and she seems a little better but i know she's still effected. I'm guessing its.someone she uplifted and the person looked up to her! I just feel so bad for her n his situation.

Lol it's funny we can accept thank you cards or letters. My department even post those kinds of letters in a employee newspaper that goes around the state. Now when I do work it always happens I get Law Enforcement discounts and even free meals. I try to give them the money but they always refuse. So to combat that I just pay for the person meal behind me or beside me.

Hey yeah I got a real question what if I am innocent of a crime got 20 years probation and I found out my probation officer lied to the judge to make sure I got a 20 year sentence on top of that what do I do?

the reason I ask is during all this covid-19 I have been harassed into getting jobs while trying to be a caregiver and it is cost me several jobs so should I remain as my duties as a caregiver which I'm not paid for because it was a reasonable accommodation for me to live on government property because my dad has housing assistance and that's the one I take care of so is that considered a job for probation

Po’s don’t try to rehabilitate or help people on probation all you do is make life hard and assist the system in sending the person to jail again. Everyone deserves second chances but you uphold a unjust system and for that I can’t respect you and wish the absolute worst on you and I will pray on it

My probation officer recently told me I wasn't allowed to go to the hospital for somthing I had going on. My agent retired and the new one assigned to me is insulting me, belittling me, harassing me and just attempting to insult and hurt me in any way. Hey girl hey!! I’m Britney and a JPO here in Texas. Tip to get out of a ticket.. put your driver license with your badge 😜 easy fix to get out a ticket... I’ve gotten out a speeding ticket like that. Also good to build up a rapport with your county officers too. Although I don’t ask for discounts at food places, if I have my shirt or jacket on they usually give it anyway.

Hello my favorite P.O hey, I have a question for you. I am currently on probation. He told me he was to see me a few times that he was going to and get to know me and then he was going to give me non-reported. I had a break up with my girlfriend. She writes down all this stuff that was irrelevant. We had a civil matter and the paperwork got back to my probation officer now. I went through a OVI class, completed it. I had an assessment there as well. I made sure that I wanted the paperwork to go back to the judge too that I completed everything. Now this paperwork got back to the probation officer. He's looking at stuff for like 20 years ago in New Jersey. I've been out here for 11 years in Ohio. I had one ticket the whole time. It was for an OVI. Now he wants to have me do another assessment based on her allegations on this paperwork and based on my past from like 20 years ago that you just is now reading and didn't even know that I had. Isn't this kind of like violating my rights In a way going on something from 20 years ago and just based on what she's saying on paper from a civil matter that's not even a criminal matter

I've NEVER had a nice probation officer. Everyone I've had seems like they've got an ego problem and they talk smartass to me to seem like they're trying to get me to pop off. I think some of these people get a high off of holding someone's freedom in their hands and would like nothing else but to lock u up.
