Making decisions can be tricky for some people, but this bit of advice I used to agree with, until one day I gave it a lot of thought and looked at it from a different perspective. I hear it thrown around a lot but how useful is the advice, to work on a decision to make it the right one??

I still haven't figured out what I can do in life, to live without thinking about it constantly. I did a few courses which didn't take me anywhere really. But at least now I have a job which I don't hate so I can give myself some space. Also I still don't trust myself completely when making decisions, but I've noticed it works for me if I think how each of the choices, I am about to take, is making me feel. If I feel strong resistance and anxiety - not a good sign. If it gives me a feeling of relief - that should be it. It worked a few times quite well - not going agains my gut feeling. Also stopping for a moment to let the thoughts calm down as you can't see clear in a stirred water, but when the water is left to stay still, it clears out. You made a very good point saying that that it's not all permanent and we can always change things later on (well, at least most of them). It's actually quite comforting.

Basically working hard to ignore that it was probably the wrong decision and deluding yourself it was right. It’s best to accept the wrong decision to free up time to make a new one. Great video Adam and I love the camera work on this one

The reason why for decision making and/or changing ones mind is very important. To do it based on pressure from others can lead to terrible results. I'm generally speaking of course. I read a quote that said something along the lines of, if someone is not going to follow you when you pass on, why are you going to live someone elses life while you're still here?

Basically the difficulty here lies in being able to distinguish between 'pivoting' and quitting. It takes a good ten years dedication to any one craft before you truly start getting anywhere with it. The problem is most of us are capable of becoming quite competent at a lot of things if we devote time and energy to them but to stand any chance of success in a competitive market economy which rewards the 'winners', we have to focus on our best shot, that thing which we have the best chance of succeeding in as there aren't any prizes given for coming second. A lot of people are quite happy doing a lot of things but don't find that one thing they are prepared to obsessively pursue, therefore end up settling for beige jobs which, over time, they may begin to actively despise.
