They were never supposed to be a support archetype? The ability to use monsters of matching types was only to allow the use of support outside their archetype. No one ever played them as generic bosses

To quote the yugioh wiki “They appear to be based on miscellaneous myths and figures of Norse mythology, while also potentially being a play on the word "generic", given the use of this archetype in decks matching their type.”

...Jesus Christ I knew Pokemon's meta was horrid but I didn't realize it was THAT BAD. At least yugioh is more or less designed to play fast with a ton of interaction. Pokemon has none of that and is designed to be MUCH slower. What the hell?

With the ability to use broken supporters (Green's Expedition, Lt Surge, Judge, Jessie James), self knockout abilities, and Reset Stamp turn 1, you could basically setup your board of mons, have 5-cards in hand, and force your opponent to have a win with 2 cards in hand and whatever they started with turn 1. Not to mention PikaRom, Reshizard/Welder decks, Arceus Dialga Palkia, had the ability to turbo out 3 energy to their pokemon after dealing 150 damage minimum, or in the case of Welder decks turbo out 2 energy off a supporter and draw 3 cards being 1 manual attachment away from hitting you with either a 230 damage normal attack or a 200 Damage GX attack since they can't use the same copies first attack twice in a row. I started playing later SM format til midway SwSh format and dur to the way the game is designed it tends to have a nasty snowball effect due to powercreep. And supporters like Marnie and Judge shuffling away and reseting resetting your hand to 4 cards makes strategizing with what you have irrelevant if RNG doesn't favor you. The format is less toxic now, since the dialed back powercreep a bit with rotation, but it by no means is fixed.

There's a lot of context left out of this comment. Pokemon games of course can end very quickly, but that is the exception not the norm

@@finnshelton3815 Well games nowadays last longer than previous standard formats, but there's no denying that mistakes tend to have a snowball effect. Which to be fair, it's a better system in deciding skill competitvely than being completely screwed for messing up a combo, or not being allowed to play because someone completed a combo. And unlike Yugioh, you can bounce back from mistakes or less optimal play early game easier.

@@danielhertz1984 Boss stage is everything for this deck. Plus you gain 1000 in time comes up. I’d cut one aleister for one meltdown, if the math is so important (also small world +1 I kurikara?+ skill drain?)

first of all the longer droll is in the game the less format dependent it becomes and we are seeing that now, secondly comparing it to ash is stupid, ash is a 1 for 1 exchange and actually requires you to think about when you use it where as droll is a turn long floodgate that shuts down more decks then ones that can actually play through it and that problem is going to become worse with time, thirdly nobody likes droll formats yes the formats it's used in are normally not the best but any format droll is introduced in makes it significantly worse and often people will blame it on what decks are good but frankly it is an issue with droll itself, it's not a fun card when it just says "end your turn" which was the reason we have maxx "c" banned mind you for it's lingering effect that can effectively shut someone down the moment they start@@josemarioperozofuenmayor3475

​@@neodarkgemini5954Imagine making this argument about Maxx "C". Just because rogue decks frequently don't SS as much as meta doesn't make Maxx "C" a fair card. Horrible argument, and historically not true imo. Every time a new powerful hand trap has come out, the meta changes to whatever decks can best resist that hand trap, which is frequently just what's already meta and any new decks that come out that are specifically designed to be resistant to it. Imo usually powerful hand traps just make rogue decks lose harder, because they usually have a much harder time playing through them. I mean, would you seriously try and argue that having Droll legal hurt Tearlament more than it hurt Rogue decks? It's a card that stops some decks in their tracks and doesn't do much against others. It doesn't matter how good the deck is, and doesn't particularly help any tier more than another.

Is the playerbase bigger than edopro?

@@harrygaming6771 The playerbase is about 5k average daily. Edopro is about 2k max, Nexus 1k max and DB 500-1k.

I’ve had a pretty good experience with Dueling Nexus. The UI is clean, not many obtrusive animations, and can be play off a browser (the biggest pro imo). Interaction logic and rulings seems pretty solid; of course there may be some obscure outliers. The only negative aspect is that the US servers seem prone to being down sometimes.

Omega has been my go to choice. I'd recommend it to any new player

Try all of them and decide for yourself! If you simply pick a sim because a content creator likes it, then you will miss out on so many other things.

Ummmm easy lol. Off 1 meltdown and synchron alone you get crystal wing, boat stage, mechaba. Literally full combo with follow up because aliester back to hand means in a grind game you have a way to ensure a boss EVERY turn and it adds pressure
