Very helpful! Thank You! I have done 3 bandings in the past 3 yrs. I'm not feeling pain or itching but it was definitely bleeding. IBS causing Constipation-Diarreah episodes. This most recent one I didn't use the steroid suppository he recommended.

I just had a second one banded this week. It was a little worse this time I have minor bleeding. But overall very minor pain and this time I chose a surgeon who did not use the CR Reagan plastic thing. This surgeon used some machine like thing. I have a second band in 4 weeks. Overall pain is 2 on a scale of 10. If you have internal hemorrhoids do this now! It is NOT bad at all and much better than delaying and having incisions required.

Had this procedure 5 days ago and it was extremely painful, and the doctor was really rough and didn't think anything of my complaints that I had a hard time getting off the table and sitting to talk to him afterwards, and I've been in terrible pain ever since. Feel the need to defecate many times a day, and every time is extremely painful, like defecating razor blades. I'm finally feeling a little better yesterday but today during a bowel movement, the band came off and filled the toilet with blood, and now I'm in terrible pain. Definitely don't want to go back to the same doctor because that was the worst experience of my life. Also it hurts so bad I won't be able to let any doctor evaluate because it would be too painful.

I am so sorry. I had a bad experience too. As Dr Chang said, he must banded an external hemorrhoid… Ibuprofen helped me a lot. ❤

Had two banded 2 years ago. Hurt immediately. 2nd worst thing I have been through in my life after back surgery! 10 days of quivering and feeling like l need to evacuate. Pain medication did little to help. Bed ridden and writhing in pain. But now that the nasty little buggers are gone I’m a new man!

I’ve had extreme pain but the colon surgeon has gaslit me and is trying to minimize the problem. I had to go to the emergency room the pain was so bad. The doctors seemed concerned and wanted to treat me until they contacted the original colon doctor who had preformed banding on me. He told them to lay off treatment and that he’d see me in a month to discuss surgery options. I’m on day 4 in extreme pain. I can’t sit properly or barely take care of myself.

I told them. Then they said it was normal after saying it would be painless! So mad about this. I should have insisted. I could barely drive home and I was dizzy from the pain.

I would be interested to know what you feel about the 'Rafaelo' treatment for haemorrhoids? Maybe a video about it would be interesting. By what I can gather, it seems to be the best and least invasive treatment around

Would love a follow up video on Setons, discharge over time and follow up procedures. I am one week post-op where I had a Seton placement following investigation under anaesthesia. It is a vessel loop seton secured with silk. I need to have the seton in place for at least two months ( possibly 4). So another video on this would be great. P.S. love your content!

I was told that since I'm over 50, I'd need three bandings. So I had them done, and it helped for a little while, but then I think they grew back.

Thanks for the video. I guess the Dr. accidentally banded an external hemorrhoid in my case. There was no bleeding and my follow up check was normal, but omg it was awful pain. I took morphine for 2 days.

I have been watching your channel because for about six months I was struggling with pain. I took some anti inflammatory pills, fiber supplement, do sitz bath twice a day and eat lots of vegetables, mostly soup, fruits. My symptoms has improved and I'm totally fine as of today but I still am very very cautious of what food i eat. I planned to continue it for a year. I don't take meat or chilli 99% of the time. If I eat meat, it's just a thumb size that too once in a month when I can't help myself. Green chilli without the seed once a while but I won't finish one chilli. I was told to undergo surgery but it is damn expensive and I can't afford to take off from work. So if you're someone like me.... Just have porridge, soup, veg, fruits, fiber supplements and do your sitz bath daily. It's hard to find the time but make an effort. Also I am taking a homoeopathic medicine call fp-tabs after taking the anti inflammatory pills my doctor prescription. I feel wonderful now for the last week. So I guess I don't need the surgery for now

I’ve had banding done 4 times. I’ve yet to find any progress or relief. Each appointment was 8-10 months apart. I’ve had the same doctor every time I’ve gone, and they tell me I should be there every 6-8 weeks for re-banding yet I can’t get appointment more than once a year. Welcome to Canada healthcare. I will try Pranicura and see if it helps!

Have you experimented with nerve medication to dull the spasms after banding? My biggest problem after was the continuous spasms for 10 days. Pain medication did not help that.

Hi Dr, I’m waiting to get an appointment with a specialist. I have an external hemorrhoid that’s probably at least an inch long. My primary dr had me come in thinking he could help but when he saw it he said wow that’s big and referred me to the specialist. I see you say if you can it won’t hurt to do nothing. But I’m your opinion with one that large is surgery the only remedy for something large?

I just had three internal hemorrhoids banded, and after the procedure, I was in excruciating pain. Came home had massive amounts of blood and blood clots come out and within hours one of the Bands had already come off into the toilet. This was on Friday that I had it done and have had nothing but issues. This is the second time I've actually had banding that failed. My doctor stated that if that happened, then I would more than likely have to go in and have them cut out.

Odd I had a banding a couple years ago, I thought it stop the pain this year but suddenly it came back. The hemorrhoids internal were gone but it didn’t heal fully so the complications occur months after that. I had internal surgery to have it suture and on recovery mode. I get to go home next day. Almost 2 weeks of no work or even workout. Next week I should resume my work and workout, with caution for confirming if any pain.

As far as banding goes, any doctor that is not experienced and/or qualified should be banned.

OMG! Thank you! That’s what happened to me. First banding, l felt an extremely sharp pain… still l was sending home. Pain was really really bad. Doctor recommended NOT to take any ibuprofen. At 3 am , l couldn’t sleep of the pain and l took 3 Ibuprofen …. After two hours l was better… l was happy the first week but my hemorroides came back… Doctor did it one more time ( this time was good), but l got a little improvement. He suggested a THD since surgery is very painful and my case is not so bad. I went to see another Doctor last week. He doesn’t do THD , he recommended surgery but after he checked my hemorroides, he said we should try banding again. I don’t know what to do 😢. Any advice, please? I have level 2-3 without bleeding.

Had a sphincterotomy 7 days ago and got an internal banded along with the surgery and im still dying! There are so many things going on down there that i cant tell where the pain is coming from; the fissure, the incision, the internal hemorrhoid or the cut muscle. Its been 7 days tho and the banded internal is extremely angry, swollen and even more prolapsed then it was(still able to get it back in after about 5 minutes of pushing it in the shower)! I guess im just looking for an answer as to if a week is to long for that to be occuring or if i should wait it out a few more days? Im scared to call and have it checked out because going inside to see whats happening in there would hurt so bad right now after the surgery.

I had this done today in the Netherlands. They left me with a paracetamol suppository and no other pain management. Waiting for my uber I felt like I was going to either faint or vomit. They were so nonchalant about it all. Now I'm worried that it was all a waste because I've had a bowel movement, and taken pain medz, and the pain has subsided almost entierly. 😢

Hi dr chung. My question is irrelevant but this situation is making my life very difficult. When I put my finger into the anal canal, I realized that there is feces not in the entire anal canal, but only in the part close to the hole (I think it is the lower part of the anal canal, is it?). I don't feel comfortable until I clean that area with a wet wipe wrapped around my finger. It consumes my time and energy, but it bothers me that there is relatively very little feces left there. When I clean it, no fecal mucus flows out. What do you suggest I do?

Years ago I had one painful hemorrhoid after child birth .My doctor was old school he put some Vaseline on a cotton ball pushed mine back in .He said cotton ball would keep it in so blood started flowing again and would come out on next BM .It worked .But doctors today say pushing it back in they dont do that anymore.

at 2:59 you said you have 3-4 banding done. Does banding have to be done multiple times? I had banding done and it's getting better, my hem feels smaller but it's not 100% gone. Whenever I do number 2 in the morning, I still feel small bump and sometimes I have to push them a bit inside. Now my colorectal surgeon considering hemorrhoidecomy and I'm really scared :(

I’ve had two banded - first one required two bands. I had a second one banded this week and surgeon said it’d be ‘at least’ two bands. He also said in most cases those hemorrhoids that don’t go away after three bands require more extensive steps. Luckily mine have responded very well. Good luck!

Had 4 bandings and none have worked and I’m really disappointed about this.. when I go to the restroom my hemorrhoids bulge out and I push them back in… so I’m thinking when they bulge out they pop off… my doctor says next we will have to try another procedure where they put me to sleep and band multiple 4-5+ at a time……. But I just think it’s a waste of time because once everything bulges out they will pop.. I don’t know what to do. I just want relief and this to go away.

Dr Chúng I’ve had 2 bandings however, I have no pain, itching or swelling. All I have is bleeding that drips at times. My first banding I had 8 bleeds with the one being pretty heavy so I went back and got banded a second time. ? Bleeding

I always watch your videos, but I guess you should use visual material, and photo illustrations just like other doctors in KZfaq that uses visual material, so the viewer could clearly understand where? which part of the anus.
