Grew up with an emotional unavailable absent mother and now as an adult with 2 kids from different dads none of the fathers of my children fathers are in their lives and emotionally unavailable and absent to their children. I have a very secure attachment with my kids and am so glad for this because i healed myself and became a secure mother to my own children and raising them healthily and love both my kids unconditionally ❤

10:21 Perhaps the twins attached to each other. They certainly had the same need for love, which was totally lacking from the rest of the world, and they were completely alone most of the time. All they would have is each other, for years.

Good thinking 😀I've had a few students think along the same lines too. I certainly think it must have been a contributing factor and certainly helped the boys cope in comparison to being in complete isolation. However, we obviously all still need the level of caregiver-interaction that only a parent can provided; a level of understanding, empathy, emotional availability that the boys at such a young age would not be able to provide. A tragic story that raises lots of intriguing questions!

Is Hazan and Shaver required knowledge or evaluation?
@Nxa24

I think it can be both, you can use it as research support for the internal working model or can be used to develop AO1 but i think it fits better as AO3 as you get more marks for that anyway. If you use it as AO1 maybe use it if you feel like you didnt talk about enough and then evaluate their study as AO3

Not required knowledge in the sense that you can choose to write about alternative studies. What is required knowledge is how early relationships affect childhood AND adulthood. Which studies you use is up to you. Hazan and Shaver is a highly memorable and easy to describe (and evaluate) study to discuss how early attachments influence adult romantic relationships. Hope that helps.
