Greg Furstenwerth was an early adopter of the Tesla Model S, but once the car was out of warranty he had a hard time getting the parts and service he needed. So he took on the repairs himself, and found it surprisingly easy. "If you can put together Legos you can put together a Tesla.”

That's precisely the reason to support it, Tesla is a company that's out to make money, giving away free repairs for life because an owner lives a few miles away from the nearest authorised service center would send them broke. I don't get the fascination with Tesla or cars in general, especially at today's prices. The bottom line is you need a car to get you from A to B, to get to work or to pick up a few things. Today if you do a little research and exercise a little patience, you can buy a decent low mile car in the $5,000 range. This car or that car may be fun to drive or make you feel good for a while to own it, but when the thrill is gone you still spent maybe $100,000 for that thrill. I've been around for over 70 years now, and I can tell you that these people are wasting their money in a monumental way. My advise in the beginning is to work hard, save BIG, spend as little as humanly possible. Try to save enough to retire at 40, I'm not saying to actually retire at 40 but to be in a position to be ABLE to. Trust me I've been there and done that, I don't care how successful you are at the moment, that can all change in a heartbeat. DON'T BE A SUCKER TheReaper!

Tesla is not a spare parts company, like Ford, GM, and Chrysler. Tesla's primary focus is the sale of new cars. Bobdingle25 you can take any other car to a million different garages and get it repaired. They don’t even need to by main dealers. You can buy manuals and parts easily on line and also buy cheaper pattern parts. With a Tesla, they won’t supplier non Tesla main dealers with parts, thy won’t provide manuals of technical help and they won’t supply diagnostics. The warranty is not the issue, it is Tesla’s refusal to slow owners or other garages to repair a Tesla.

Tesla doesn’t let anybody else handle their car because it can be deadly if you don’t know what you’re doing It’s mostly electric meaning it can blow up also meaning mechanics may not know what they’re doing either and they’re at a potential risk

@@erikjimenez5851 do you mean to tell us; improperly repairing a gasoline or diesel fuel vehicle could not result in it being unsafe? It's about money, control and creating a monopoly on people's private property. As evidence, all you have to do is research the cease and desist orders filed by Tesla against car owners (public records). Look up the lawsuits filed against Tesla owners that they filed (and lost) to stop people from making repairs on thier own private property. Especially the cases where Tesla illegally shut down vehicles owned by people doing thier own repairs. It's has nothing to do with safety, it has everything to do with money and creating a monopoly.

@@Nexus-7.0 My girlfriend had a 2006 Lexus with 280,000KM on it. Three of her window regulators have gone out already, and one switch. Her factory radio went out. The switch that locks the doors was busted. And the only door whose regulator didn't go out had the window switch go out on it. Electrical components failing isn't something unique to Tesla. Luxury cars are especially prone to having overly complicated electronic components that end up failing. The target demographic for luxury cars is someone who is only going to own the car for 140,000KM at most, so they design them to last about that long.
