Why in the world do you want more?? More people taking up range spots, shooting areas, buying up all the components for reloading etc etc. What a stupid comment! The least people that shoot, the better. Less dumb asses doing stupid things and leaving trash all over the place.

My Tikka T3X Tac A1 in 308 has been fantastic, out of the box. I have done some shooting out to 700m (military range) and have had no problems hitting a half human size target. Difficult to find longer shooting ranges in France. Bolt action is smooth, easy for rapid fire exercises. 20 rounds in 30 seconds for a 1.5 inch group at 200m. Adjustable for almost anyone. Tighten all the hand-guard screws, mine come loose after 2000 rounds. One problem did show after shooting about 30 rounds, heat haze from the hot barrel. I believe there is a cover available but I have not found one. Anyone interested in long range shooting this is a good choice.

Very inspirational to see you guys setting a buddy up with a great experience. Would love to see more videos like this one, just the basic setup procedures and then the progression over time. All I can say is I am jealous of the range you guys have their, you would think living in Kentucky their would be several ranges that can reach out 500-1000 yrds but I believe their is only one in the entire state at Knob Creek and nothing else to my knowledge that's available to the public or easy to get a membership. Thanks again and great video fellas.

My Tikka Tac A1 has been a good rifle. For a factory rifle it has some nice features in my opinion. My trigger adjusted WAY under advertised weight. This year I took 2nd place at my local club series. They year before I think I was top 10 or 15. The Tikka is an unbelievably great starting platform. I was regularly shooting 0.3s with the factory barrel. I just started my first custom build for 2022 that’s going to be a 6BRA on a Lone Peak Fuzion. I’d recommend the T3 in for anyone getting started in long range for sure

@stevewilson4514
@stevewilson4514 4 жыл бұрын
If you’re going to mod a component; you want to carve on the cheaper one. Modifying the cheap scope cap is the way to go. The most correct solution is to buy the next size taller rings. A local Dept went hogging on their MIRS Mounts with a Dremel Tool. Instead of spending the $150 for the correct height rings, they butchered a $450 mount.

Easily my favorite bolt action rifle. Shot a 0.477 MOA 5 shot group at 750 yards. Hit a soda can at 1,006 yards in 3 shots and a soda can at 1,380 yards in a 15mph 90 degree crosswind and horrible mirage, (14 shots because i couldn't see my impacts on the white silhouette just 9" behind the soda can because the mirage was so damn bad. Only got the hit when i had a neck shot right next to a low head shot and BOTH impacts together allowed me to spot my impact finally). All of that with factory ammo, not hand loads. I have 20MOA SPUHR mount and a NF ATACR on mine and the cap just fits. Truth be told... you don't need any more than that. I've hit out to 1,850 yards with my set up.

@hpekdemir
@hpekdemir 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark, for the basics (ringing the plate) it's fine. If you want to range the target using your scope then a MOA or MIL reticle is required. Also that would help you to measure your misses and call the corrections but as I said it's not a must. You can have a spotter to call the corrections and a range finder if you shoot unknown distances. So go out and shoot long distance, I'm sure if you like it you will move to a higher end scope though :)

What would be the best rifle around $1500 to start into the long range game?
@XRING
@XRING 3 жыл бұрын
1500 buys a lot of good rifles in this day and age. I would recommend a 6.5 Creedmoor with a 24”bbl. and go with the rifle that fits you best. Don’t skimp on the optic or the base/rings. That’s really where you should spend the money. Pick a rifle that has a stock with an adjustable cheek riser and length of pull. I hope this helps without naming a particular brand of rifle. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Dremel the picatinny under the scope. If you remove material from the center you'll have more room for scope clearance while keeping the pic functionality.

Do you teach a precision shooting class?
@XRING
