“Plant seeds of happiness, hope, success, and love: it will all come back to you in abundance. This is the law of nature.” -Steve Maraboli
Welcome to my garden! Today I am introducing my “Tiny Tomato Project” which is actually micro dwarf tomatoes! Micro Dwarf Tomatoes are so small that they can be grown in 1/2 to 1 gallon pots on your patio. I love this idea since it won’t take any garden bed space from my flowers! 🍅 Enjoy!

I loved the timing on the video I had the same idea to start some micro tomatoes to blend in the garden beds. I did get the Orange hat and wanted a sweet pop so I skipped the Tom Thumb. Thank you so much for introducing me to the Renaissance Farms and the variety available 🤩🙌so excited to get shopping and to see the updates on your seeds!

Tiny Tomato Town, such a cute name. I tried regular old tomatoes a couple years ago (along with some other veggies) and it was too much work for me. These sound more my speed. 😉 Merch! Cute sweatshirt. Thanks for another great video!

I am excited to see how they grow. I have a small yard also and love flowers and hate to give up space for vegetables but I have found a few that are pretty mixed in with my flowers. Carrots have beautiful foliage and flowers. You have to wait until the second year for the bloom. Swiss char and chives and eggplant are some that I mix in as well. I started doing it after visiting a private garden during our annual Azalea Trail and wondered what plans were they using to fill the beds it was lettuce and Swiss char and carrots. It was beautiful I never would have thought it could be so pretty.

Oh that is so interesting! I will look them up thanks Tammy! I tried to plant zucchini in my flower bed last year and that was a MISTAKE! It just kept growing and taking over other plants one by one! Finally I got frustrated and cut it all down! Lesson learned! 😆

Good morning! Such cute little tomato plants! You might want to use a glazed pot for the tomatoes though. As hot as it gets there in Davis, you'll have to water the terracotta pots a couple of times a day. I love Baker Seeds. Did you know they have a store in Petaluma? I stopped by there a while back on a way to my friends house in Windsor but they were closed due to Covid (rats!). Oh, and love the shirt!!
@DigPlantWaterRepeat
@DigPlantWaterRepeat 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Lu! That is a great point thank you! I will think about you when purchasing the pots. You are right, glazed might be better! I don’t want to be a slave to watering! My husband grew up in Petaluma and he saw me on their website and said “oh that’s the seed place!” So funny and such a small world!

Hi Janey, I was wondering how your tiny tomatoes are doing? I planted 5 varieties on 2/19 and nothing has sprouted at all. Do you know how long it takes for the seeds to germinate? I may just be feeling impatient!
@DigPlantWaterRepeat
@DigPlantWaterRepeat 2 жыл бұрын
@@lorriplatt6864 hi Lorri! They did take longer than expected for me too! I thought I had messed them up somehow for a bit, then they finally sprouted! I would give it another week or 2 to see if they germinate then try again if they are still not up after that! I’ll do an update video soon! 🤞🏼 fingers crossed for you!

Hi! I have trouble getting birds and bees to stop at my tomato plants' blossoms on my second story balcony, so I get blossoms but no fruit. What can I do?
@DigPlantWaterRepeat
@DigPlantWaterRepeat 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Barry! It sounds like your tomatoes might have blossom drop? Look it up but it is basically caused by stress. If your temps aren’t too cold at night or some other thing that might cause stress you can shake the tomato plant to mimic the wind which should help! Look up “blossom drop” though to make sure you don’t have anything else going on! Hope that helps!
