great content Chris. I went to my local AD(metro detroit area, MI) looking for the OP 34mm blackdial 124200-0002 my wrist is 5.5" so they put me on the list and told me that for 34mm 124200-0002 I'll be the first one on the list. They stated that it can be anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months or so. This will be my first purchase with this AD and my first purchase of a brand-new rolex. Also they dont require deposit and can be purchase with any form of payments. Cheers!

I never owned a Rolex till this July. The AD I got my z-blue Milgauss from is an out of state AD, and I had zero purchase history with them....took six weeks from request. The BLNR on jubilee, a different out of state AD, also no purchase history....took two months from request. Overall I went to seven different ADs in three states (all no farther than an eight hour drive). Go in person, show your genuine interest, be friendly, BE HONEST, talk watches and check in every so often to let them know you are still interested. No buttkissing, no purchasing a bunch of stuff. It CAN happen. Good luck everyone!

Great video...enjoyed it....but others say there is no point going through the reasons as to way you want a Rolex, firstly because they literally don't care......but 2ndly they've heard everything before. It comes down to who has brought stuff from my store plain and simple. And I like many are not going to play that game. Was in the London Blancpain Boutique today.....was a fantastic experience, great chat, welcoming and friendly and the watches were in stock. And the Blancpain is so far ahead of the Watch in every way apart from brand awareness....

I have a friend who spent around £100k over 2020 with his brother. He eventually started getting calls for hot models. He got a gmt Pepsi at retail. I’m going to try and coordinate better with friends so we appear to be one customer to an AD and increase our spend. Over time it may be enough to convince ADs that you’ve got some money to spend on watches.

Another very enjoyable video! You're right about trading in a rolex against another rolex my AD was encouraging me to do that but I wasn't sure if it was a test to see if I would sell watches on 🤔
@watchesgiggles56592 жыл бұрын
Haha yeah. They don’t want you to sell your watch to anyone that’s for sure! Just trade it back to the AD you bought it from. Thanks for the kind words! 🍻

I think these are some interesting points. In 2016, I literally picked mine out, it was sitting next to a HULK I could have purchased at retail, and I got a discount, tax credit, cash back, a free decent watch winder, and they took the trade in I had just bought and gave me $500 more than I paid for it! Yeah, it isn't 2016 any more. I have made first contact with the new AD I wish to do business with. I'm going to go back this week and make it clear how serious I am. And I AM willing to trade my GMT when they can get me my new watch, which is great for them because they have a whole used watch section. I'm hoping with some patience and not asking for some red hot Sub, GMT or Daytona or something, I might be able to get a new watch at least before 2026! We'll see.

If you really want a new Rolex just pay market price and you can have what you want tomorrow. No waiting, no ass kissing etc. These watches magically appear on the grey market by the truck load, and that's a damn shame because I wear my watches not flip.........

After waiting forever for a Daytona, I bought a Tudor Pelagos from the AD. Then a few months later he called and asked if I wanted A Sub or a GMT, I took the GMT Batgirl. Still waiting for a Daytona almost 4 years. I'm thinking the only way to get one is to win a 24 hour race in Florida.

Hi Chris, I’ve been subbed for a while now and enjoy your content. I’m from Sydney Australia and recently got my first Rolex, the Yacht Master 40 blue dial 126622. No purchase history with the AD but I had called up a couple of times over a few months and I was still after the same watch the whole time. When I was ready to buy they took a $1,000 deposit and the watch came in just under 2 months. After lusting over it for a year I was worried that I’d be disappointed seeing it in person but after actually seeing it, it was even better that I thought it would be!

Chris Have you ever heard, once Rolex watches leave the factory and arrive in the the U.S. hundreds of Rolex's srrive here at one time. How are these watches divvied up. This past year my AD received a sea dweller two tone. The AD is hundreds of miles from the nearest body of water. Do the AD's put in an order or is it, What you see is what you get. Somehow, some way the watches end up at the AD's. If an AD has half a dozen stores. Do they get first dibs compared to the AD that only has one store. Or does the factory send the watches directly to the AD?

A true story, no purchase history ……I wanted a FPJourne Elegante……. Called all the boutiques. The one in California put me on the list. I emailed or called once a month to let the salesman know I was ready to buy……. 18 months later I did receive the watch. So I can say being polite and president does work. The great thing about buying from the AD ( in my case a boutique) is the value is there.

Except...buying all those two-tone or solid gold rolex watches just to get an all-steel OP 41 is counter productive to why I want an Oyster Perpetual in the first place. I want a basic rolex so I do not have to spend so much. If I will buy the ones at the store, I will end up spending over $50k or more, just in the off-chance that they may (or may not) possibly call me for my order. I might as well just buy a two-tone Datejust and be done with it. I just need 2 watches at any given time, 1 beater everyday watch, and 1 for special occasions. I already have a beater, I need my special watch. But wearing gold is like what my dad would wear, so that's out of the question. Buying from a gray market seller is not an option because there are a lot of fakes out there.
@jeanlefranc38172 жыл бұрын
I suggest you purchase from your AD a 31 mm two tone DateJust, every other month. Six months and $106 k later, you will probably be selected for a no-date Submariner and your better half will have questions about who are the other ladies getting all these Rolexes. Or you just don’t bother and buy a Sinn.
@waynesilva31292 жыл бұрын
My AD has only been opened for the past two years. 2021 saw no Rolex's in the AD. However, The store did get in a two tone sea dweller. I was shown the watch. Since the store knows I want a Rolex Sports watch. They knew I could have bought the sea dweller and flipped it. When I turned down the watch that may have me. I stop in every three weeks or so to say hi to the manager. Chat for a bit with a bottle of water. I said we need to get a cup of coffee in the mall. I told the manager I'll pay for my coffee. I don't want you to think I'm fast tracking to the head of the line. The manager said, no I'll buy you the coffee. He said let's have lunch.

If you are are a watch collector why would you sell one of your older Rolex watches back to the AD. This doesn’t make any sense as they are possibly more collectible than a new Rolex.
@ticktology2 жыл бұрын
At my AD, it helps if you buy other brands to help them move it out of inventory (like Tudor or Omega). You should also try to buy jewelry from the AD whether it’s for Christmas, birthdays, Valentines Day, Anniversary, etc. This will boost up your spend history. You will have to be extremely lucky to get a stainless sports Rolex without any purchase history. My AD also doesn’t take deposits…you wait until the watch comes in first because nothing is “guaranteed”
