Thank you for the moon 'trick'. I was at Artist Point in Yellowstone several weeks ago and was blessed with a full moon over the canyon at sunrise...this trick will save me a lot of time and effort, something that I've struggled with in the past.

Good tutorial Dave. Lake of Tranquility is a reference to the Sea of Tranquility where Apollo landed in 1969 - appropriate for a shot with the Moon!

Lake of Tranquility was the landing spot of the first Moon mission in 1969. That's the year my parents and I moved down here to Puerto Rico from the Bronx, NY. I was 13 at that time. Been here ever since. I became a parent and grandparent. I'm getting old, Dave🤣. This was a great TK Friday; and yes, I love that Calculator Tool! Tony Kuyper made it more easy to use with TK9, and with. your tutorials make it exceptional!

Dave, I really like TK Fridays, the hardest thing i have with your edits is how the images appear on KZfaq verses on my screen/s at home, it drove me crazy for a while KZfaq tends to make the colors more saturated. But that aside, you videos have helped immensely with getting to know the TK9 plugin, thanks and keep them coming

Hello again Dave, thank you for this full edit I enjoyed it very much. I have had TK9 for about a month now and am still learning about all of the buttons. I have been using photoshop for about six years so this is a big turn around for me. I enjoy how the various masks allow me to target certain areas especially for color grading and burning and dodging. Having said that, I still like to do it by hand with my Wacom tablet. This allow me to hand draw all of the edit areas to make my pictures pop more. A lot of times I don’t want to be restricted by a mask to I can go outside of the panel allowing me to paint in what my crazy mind is siding at the time lol. I plan on using this panel as much as I can though but still like to have control at the same time. I don’t use work flows either for the same reason. I will keep a close eye on all of your tutorials because your the master here and I am your humble student. Thanks, John

Thanks again, for another mind blowing tutorial, Dave. I love the idea of enlarging the moon. I'll have to try and. remember that technique. And that final colour boost, I don't remember you using that before either. Maybe I've missed a few tutorials?

Thanks again Dave for this educational explanation, I have learned a lot, I will remember that tip to enlarge the moon, but first watch it a few more times to remember it. It is incredible how you always manage to get a pale image to make it radiant. Nice photo by the way

Wonderful! I've got a good number of shots from that location - it's now back to the drawing board! I'm amazed by the overall impact that a small number of subtle tweaks has on the whole image. Thank you, again!

I find the new calculator much easier (intuitive) to use than calculator in the multi mask panel.

I love the new calculators in the Combo and CX Panels. But there are times when the MultiMask Calculator is needed.

Thanks again Dave, great edit! I might be doing something wrong however. I never seem to see a difference in the histogram when I do your balance and contrast edit with midtones 3. Can you explain how that works?
@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly
@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly 8 ай бұрын
You should see a change in the histogram. Do you see it change for any other adjustments? Whenever a luminosity value changes in Photoshop you should see a histogram change.

Great tutorial Dave. Thanks for taking your time to help everyone. Really impressed with what you have done to my image. Got some future images here when you running out. I am having trouble with the gradient tool I don’t have the pull down bar you have for some reason is there a way to get that on?.
@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly
@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly 8 ай бұрын
Thanks Andrew for letting us use your beautiful image. As for the Gradient question: When you choose the Gradient Tool, check the tool menu bar on the top left, you will find a drop down menu. Make sure you are choosing Gradient and not Classic Gradient.

Thanks Dave, had to reinstall photoshop as it’s not been working properly. The mountain in the middle of the image is catbells which is a Alfred wainwright summit at 451 meters. Leading to maiden moor on the far left of this range at 576 meters.

Dave, I have a little question for you and only you ( he he) .. Is there a difference between using Blend if in position 3 to protect high lights and shadows and the multimask panel in position 3? .What is your position? perhaps this question was post before.... if yes I am sorry.. I am not a good student ( bouhhhh)
@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly
@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly 8 ай бұрын
Philippe, good question I think you will find both methods give very similar results.
@philippeladouce6647
@philippeladouce6647 8 ай бұрын
There seems to be a difference between the 2 masks. Blend if 3 seems to protect more areas in the shadows and highlights. I've taken screenshots of these masks and there are differences. In reality, I don't know which one you recommend. Maybe the transition between protected and affected areas is smoother with Blend if.... 🤔@@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly
