"I think I might've broke culture or something, everyone started clapping when the band finished playing, and I kinda yelled out "WOOO!!" and the clarinet let out a laugh, I dunno... :D" No worries at all, think of it less as "breaking culture", and more as "now everyone knows this guy is definitely an American", lol :) I'm sure the musicians appreciated your cheering them on all the same. I've heard that when Japanese musicians perform for American audiences, they're always blown away at how enthusiastic we are...

I do like the more unique merch at the Tokyo parks. The first plushie that I ever bought my niece was a Stella Lou (Duffy's rabbit friend) plush when I did a trip to Tokyo six years ago. At the time I new that she was the newest member of Duffy's friends, but when I got home and did a little research, and the first time she was announce happened to be the same day that my niece was born. So, I've got a little place in my heart for that plush

The drawstring bags are used for gift giving instead of wrapping paper. They’re a lot more environmentally conscious in terms of sustainability there, and have been using cloth to wrap packages for ages, but the drawstring bags are easier; you can just pop a little souvenir in there and you’re done.

I read where Duffy the Bear was first created as a special toy for the opening of Once Upon a Toy at Walt Disney World! But the marketing folks from Tokyo Disney saw it and sort of adopted it for Disney Seas and heavily promoted it.

In 1977 my husband was on a culture exchange tour all over Japan. He said he LOVED the people, basically everything about it. They wore socks and flip flops a lot so maybe those toeless socks are for that 🤷‍♀️ great video, thanks Chris, you are the best!

In Japan, people always buy gifts for family and friends when they go on trips. It would be rude not to. I think that's why their shopping experiences are so much more intense there. I can't remember a single time bringing back a souvenir for someone else on a trip. 😬

I laughed so hard when you were eating the little green men dumpling.....spun it around in your mouth so it was looking at us......and then proceeded to bite into it and mumbled their catchphrase: "ooooooooooooo"..... Ha! So much fun! (near the 27:40 mark). Hahaha! Yes!!

Thank you for doing a merch search. I was laughing at the comment before mine because every time I go Disneyland I'm always looking for omiyage to bring back home for family, friends coworkers and so on. I take an empty suitcase and separate budget just for this. I am always asking vlogers to do a video on small things that are available in the parks like pens, keychains, jewelry, soaps, trinkets etc. No one ever does. Where I live we take the tradition of omiyagi very seriously. My friends say Tokyo has the BEST! THANK YOU for the best Mrech search EVER!! This was awesome!!

Woohoo, no rain today! You got to experience the park on a rainy and a dry day! Thank you for taking us along Main Street - super fun. I had so much fun watching you shop. Oh my gosh, good choice on buying those playing cards, absolutely love them. They are so unique and gorgeous! I'm super impressed at how you're open to trying new foods, and eating on camera even though you don't like to. Excellent job explaining what the food tastes like. The way you explain the taste and your facial expressions say it all! Amanda is going to love those shorts, and sweater! And Miles is going to love the shirt you got him super cute! 🤗

Hi Chris , it’s ok to buy that 40 th anniversary coke bottle . I purchased some decorative Coke bottles when I was in Japan in 2018 and they survived the trip home to Australia. I am enjoying all you Japan Vlogs . It’s great to get a Disneyland fan view of TDL . I have been following your channel since tried to do the Disney World Tour in late 2019-2020 . Enjoy what you do as I enjoy what I see . Thanks John

Watching you a “Plasma Ray’s”….. WDWNT just showed a video of poor Sonny Eclipse at Cosmic Ray’s literally having a meltdown. The poor guy started smoking, then dripping oil and then he slumped over on to his piano. But the next day he was jamming again!

They once did about 25 years ago. I bought at Epcot's Mitsukoshi the most cute and perfect Winnie the Pooh doll I've ever seen, made in Japan originally for Tokyo Disneyland. Other Pooh bears sold in the park were not so well finished, they even had the word 'Pooh' written on their small t-shirts probably to convince children they were the character's doll. The Japanese one was so recognizable that his tee was simply plain red and several people asked me where did I find It.

This was pretty cool and wholeseme! You asked about the drawstring pouches - it is "cultural" I guess. In many asian countries, women love to have small pouches to carry little things neatly in their bags. They use them as bag organisers for makeup, coins, pens, whatever they need organised within their bags! They are also very nice ways of packaging small gifts - for example, I might get a cute cloth drawstring purse/pouch to put some stickers or a lipstick or whatever small souvenir/item I wish to gift a friend. :)

If you really want the coke bottle, you should buy it! I have brought bottles of wine home in my suitcase many times and never had a problem (from overseas). I just wrap some clothes around them and then nestle it in other clothes within my suitcase. If you have some sort of plastc bag to put it in, that can be your safety. Really enjoyng these videos Chris. Thank you for showing all the detail. Loved the marching band infront of the castle. The playing cards were really beautiful. I would have bought them too.

Those playing cards are gorgeous! $16 for 52 beautiful stained glass artworks seems good to me! I'd want to mount a few in a display in a light box somehow... I love love love useful merch like the cable ties, things you're gonna use everyday at home and be reminded of your fabulous vacation. Those fluffy socks remind me of the best WDW merch I've seen - super cozy minnie mouse socks sold in the resort shops by the counter. The perfect impulse purchase at the end of the first day of your vacation when you've been walking 12 miles and your feet hate you!

Thanks for the chop sticks tip! 🎉 I want Disneyland to start carrying some of this stuff. I LOVE the iconic Mickey balloons! I keep thinking I know what the unique items are and am wrong everytime. Haha 😆 I don't usually care for the shops much at Disneyland but I'd spend all day in these stores! The origami joke was good. 😊 The ramen and dumplings are so cool! Unexpectedly awesome, including the cup lids! That would fix the straw issue. 😅

Chris, these are such fantastic videos. I look forward to them every day. I think you should just do videos of traveling. You are so good at it. I can’t wait for tomorrow’s video and of course how you planned the trip. Also, tell how not to purchase two tickets form2 different parks in the same day😂. Give yourself a break no one is perfect and we all make mistakes.

Great video, Chris! If you make it back to Tokyo Disneyland, make sure you check out PAN GALACTIC PIZZA PORT in Tomorroland. There, you may spot SONNY ECLIPSE's distant cousin, TONY SOLARONI manning the vast panel of pizza kitchen controls above where you purchase your food. He's adorbs! That might have been what you were looking for while dining at Plazma Ray's the other day. I love watching your visit to Japan and seeing you bring a ray of sunshine and positivity to the peope there. Keep up the great content. We're looking forward to seeing the next in the series.
